Daedalic Entertainment Reveals The Lord of the Rings – Gollum

Acclaimed German studio gains worldwide licensing rights for The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R Tolkien

HAMBURG, Germany/BERKELEY, Calif.: March 26, 2019 Daedalic Entertainment today announced a partnership with Middle-earth Enterprises, a division of The Saul Zaentz Company, to develop and publish The Lord of the Rings – Gollum. This all-new action adventure title is being brought to life in-house by Daedalic Entertainment’s award-winning development team and is set for release in 2021 on PC and all relevant console platforms at that time.

The Lord of the Rings – Gollum is the first video game to be born out of the new fellowship forged between Daedalic Entertainment and Middle-earth Enterprises, with scope for more new experiences in the future.

This new title will remain true to the vision laid out in J.R.R Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings and will also explore new events and details related to Gollum’s journey. The Lord of the Rings – Gollum will be powered by Unreal Engine and localized into multiple languages so that fans from across the globe will be able to enjoy this new action adventure.

HBO, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Yoozoo Games have collaborated to recreate Westeros on a massive scale, delivering an authentic and immersive multiplayer world laid out across the Seven Kingdoms – complete with major landmarks and castles from the epic TV series. The story begins immediately following the death of Eddard Stark, when the player emerges as a new Westeros lord or lady in his stead. 

Strategising starts in earnest in Game of Thrones Winter is Coming as players aim to build an impenetrable base, train a victorious army and recruit faithful followers from a pool of iconic characters. As players progress, they must continue to acquire the might, money and influence needed to take the Iron Throne.

Several characters from Game of Thrones can also be found across the vast Westeros landscape, each with their own diverse skill sets as well as their own band of soldiers and followers. Players must choose their allies wisely and recruit them into their ranks in order to leverage their influence and knowledge to plot a course towards domination. 

Players can invite friends to raise an army and compete with other Westerosi lords and ladies to conquer their castles. Should they eventually become the ruler of the Seven Kingdoms, players will be able to add their own distinct features and upgrades in order to sit on the Iron Throne in a fashion more befitting their reign. Players can also venture out to explore 30 different types of terrain and weather conditions in Westeros, as the continent’s appearance changes almost as often as its leaders.

In certain game modes, players will be able to experience their favorite moments from the show and see the story of Game of Thrones unfold once more. They will also be able to unlock exclusive hidden storylines through a wide variety of PVE missions, such as battle progressions that will pit players against hordes of roaming bandits and assassins for a chance to earn valuable rewards.

Nelke & the Legendary Alchemists: Ateliers of the New World drops players into the shoes of Nelke von Lestamm, a young noblewoman fascinated by the ancient legend of the Sage of Granzweit; a legend which is said to bestow great power onto those who discover the mysterious Granzweit Tree. After hearing a rumour that the Granzweit Tree might lie within her father’s lands near the small village of Westwald, Nelke begs her father to search for it, but her father only grants her permission on one condition – that she becomes governor of the area and develop Westwald into a prosperous city.

As Nelke works hard to enhance the lands of Westwald, she will need to call upon the help of the many alchemists that settle in the town – including those from the Atelier Marie, Atelier Elie, Atelier Lilie, Atelier Iris, Mana-Khemia, Arland, Dusk, and Mysterious sub-series. Throughout the week players will have to choose if they will spend their time on gathering resources, creating sellable items or developing their town further, but on the weekends, they will be able to enjoy their days off building their relationships with the many charismatic alchemist residents!

To celebrate the launch of Nelke & the Legendary Alchemists: Ateliers of the New World a special early purchase DLC pack is available: The Town Building 5-Item Set Season Pass. New Studio to Join Kabam in Vancouver, San Francisco and Austin

MONTREAL – MARCH 25, 2019 – Kabam,a world leader in developing entertaining, immersive and highly social multiplayer mobile games, announced today its formal acquisition of Riposte Games & Co, a Montreal-based games developer focused on cross platform, midcore games for mobile and Windows PC – including the fan-favorite real-time multiplayer strategy game Mini Guns – Omega Wars. Starting today, Kabam will assume publishing and marketing responsibilities for Mini Guns and future Riposte Games & Co titles. Following the acquisition Riposte Games & Co will operate under the Kabam Montreal label while supporting current games as well as developing and launching new titles.

Days Gone Story Trailer Revealed

With one month left until Sony and Bend Studio’s Days Gone is released the company has chosen to release a trailer focusing on introducing the story of the game. Players take control of Deacon St. John, a bounty hunter who has to face a brutal struggle for survival while trying to find a reason to stay alive as he battles against hostile drifters, marauders, and even militia. Not to mention the various “Freaker” types that are more than willing to eat everything in their sights.

Set in the Pacific Northwest Deacon will be riding through a variety of locations ranging from dense alpine forests to lush meadows and even coming into harsh deserts and caves there are a variety of different locations to explore, most of which still contain remnants of humanity leftover from their destruction.

Shantae 5 Announced for Release in 2019

After releasing Shantae: Half-Genie Hero back in 2016 we haven’t heard too much from Wayforward regarding a new game for everyone’s dancing genie but that has changed as today the company has announced plans to bring Shantae 5 out later this year for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, PC, and even Apple’s brand new arcade system that was recently announced.

Currently no extra information as to what Shantae 5 will have to offer has been revealed, other than the artwork at the top, but it is likely that we will see everyone’s favorite cast of characters returning once again in some form or another.

Old Skool Takes on New Skool in Mortal Kombat 11 Trailer

A great new trailer for Mortal Kombat 11 has been released by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and developer NetherRealm Studios where Liu Kang, Kung Lao, and Jackson Briggs (Jax) are introduced as being added to the roster of playable fighters.

In the trailer, found below, Mortal Kombat 11 shows off a number of different characters fighting against and with their past and present selves as this story mode will feature a time bending plotline that will see fighters from all generations taking the fight to one another. Currently Mortal Kombat 11 is set to be released on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch on April 23rd.
