SCI-FI SUBMARINE MULTIPLAYER SIM BAROTRAUMA DIVES INTO STEAM EARLY ACCESS ON 5TH JUNE

Survive the chaos with up to 16 players navigating a submarine together below the frozen surface of Jupiter’s moon Europa

HAMBURG, Germany – May 9th, 2019: Publisher Daedalic Entertainment and independent developers FakeFish and Undertow Games today announced their highly anticipated sci-fi submarine multiplayer simulator Barotrauma will go into Steam Early Access for Windows PC, Mac and Linux on June 5, 2019. Barotrauma sends up to 16 players on an underwater journey beneath the surface of Jupiter’s moon Europa, where you’ll discover alien wonders and horrors, command various submarine systems, and fight to survive dangers from both outside and within.

Navigate a chilling ocean filled with strange creatures, explore alien ruins, and cooperate with your crewmates to accomplish missions on your voyage. Choose one of several classes and work together to manage complex systems, including the nuclear reactor, guns, engines and sonar. Fend off hostile monstrosities, seal deadly radioactive leaks, and survive crewmembers infected with extraterrestrial viruses. But beware: some threats are closer than you think. Traitor mode is a multiplayer option that may randomly assign players as secret conspirators, complete with their own individual missions like assassination and sabotage.

Oscillating between thrilling and hilarious, Barotrauma allows you to create your very own creative chaos with procedurally generated levels and full mod support. Ragdoll physics give the game a uniquely weird look and feel, making it fun to both watch and play.

Key Features:

  • Master intricate submarine management and crafting systems to survive the frigid depths of Europa, one of Jupiter’s largest moons.
  • Work together in adrenaline-filled 2D co-op multiplayer with up to 16 players. Or betray your crew and bury them in an icy grave…
  • Explore a vast ocean filled with alien life, ruins and other dangerous secrets.
  • Enlist as one of five classes: submarine captain, engineer, mechanic, medic, and security officer.
  • Procedurally created levels and events ensure no two games are the same.
  • Become a monster maker: transform the game via Steam workshop and create your own submarines, sprites, levels — and even alien creatures — for other players to download.

Barotrauma will be available in Steam Early Access on June 5th and will be continuously updated and expanded with new content, features and improvements.

Press assets can be found here. For further information, visit Barotrauma’s game page on Steam.

GOOD SHEPHERD ENTERTAINMENT AND LIONSGATE REVEAL JOHN WICK HEX, DEVELOPED BY BITHELL GAMES

GOOD SHEPHERD ENTERTAINMENT AND LIONSGATE REVEAL JOHN WICK HEX, DEVELOPED BY BITHELL GAMES

Become the Legendary Hitman in the New Fast-paced Action Strategy Game Coming to Consoles, Windows PC and Mac

AMSTERDAM and LOS ANGELES May 8, 2019 — Publisher Good Shepherd Entertainment, in partnership with global content leader Lionsgate (NYSE: LGF.A, LGF.B), has announced John Wick Hex, the upcoming video game from acclaimed game director Mike Bithell (Volume, Thomas Was Alone, Subsurface Circular). John Wick Hex is a fast-paced, action-oriented strategy game that makes you think and strike like John Wick, the professional hitman of Lionsgate’s critically acclaimed film franchise, returning to theaters worldwide on May 17, 2019, with John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum. The game is in development for consoles and will be available for Windows PC and Mac exclusively via the Epic Games Store at launch.

Created in close cooperation with the creative and stunt teams behind the films, John Wick Hex is fight-choreographed chess brought to life as a video game, capturing the series’ signature gun fu style while expanding its story universe. Players must choose every action and attack they make while considering their immediate cost and consequences. Every move in John Wick Hex feels like a scene from the movies, and every fight contributes to your progress on the job and requires precise strategic thinking.

Perform well and progress in the main story mode (which features an original story created for the game) to unlock new weapons, suit options and locations. Each weapon changes up the tactics you’ll use and the manner in which you’ll play. Ammo is finite and realistically simulated, so time your reloads and make the most of the weapons you scavenge on the job.

John Wick Hex complements the style of the films with a unique graphic noir art design and features the world-class voice talents of Ian McShane and Lance Reddick amongst its stellar cast, with other cast for the game to be revealed later.

For more information and the latest updates, visit JohnWickHex.com, and follow @mikeBithell and @GoodShepherdEnt on Twitter.

EA Access Announced for PlayStation 4

Since mid-2014 gamers on the Xbox One and PC have had access to a service called EA Access that allowed them to pay a monthly fee, or purchase a one year subscription, to gain access to a wide range of EA titles that they can play at will. Well now EA has announced that that service is heading to the PlayStation 4 for the first time in July where it will be priced the same as the Xbox One version, costing $4.99 a month or $29.99 for a year.

It is worth noting that since the PlayStation 4 does not support backwards compatibility, that the list of games available at launch will likely be smaller than that of the Xbox One though it will still have access to various “Play First Trials” that allow full versions of new games to be accessed for a limited time including recent releases such as Anthem.

Arc of Alchemist Western Release Delayed to Winter

While Idea Factory International may have pleased many with their Azur Lane announcement last week the company has some less than great news for one of their other upcoming games, Arc of Alchemist. The publisher has announced that the game will now be releasing in the West for the PlayStation 4 in winter rather than the previously announced summer window and unfortunately the game will now only be available digitally in North America, though Europe will still be getting a physical and digital release.

For those who haven’t been following the game, Arc of Alchemist follows the story of Quinn Bravesford who is tasked by her king to lead a large-scale investigation team into the Desert of Beginnings. With the ancient alchemic device Lunagear within her hand and knowledge of legends that tell of the device unleashing “Great Power” once four orbs are obtained, Quinn and her allies must fight against dangerous creatures, Machine-like Dolls roaming the wastes, and the Principality of Neuhaven in hopes to find the Great Power and save humanity.

Devil May Cry Heads to Nintendo Switch this Summer

After a successful launch of Devil May Cry 5 a couple of months ago it looks like Capcom is going to be bringing the series to the Nintendo Switch, though they are going back to basics to start things out. The company has announced that they will be bringing the original Devil May Cry to the Nintendo Switch sometime in Summer 2019.

It is currently unknown just how the game will be released as the original 2001 PlayStation 2 version has since been remastered into an HD Collection that was released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 back in 2012. Whether this means that eventually all three of the game’s in that collection will be released on the Switch separately or something else has yet to be seen as Capcom did not provide further details beyond the release window.

Darkwood Slides onto Consoles Mid-May

The oddly named publisher Crunching Koalas has announced that they are aiming to have Acid Wizard Studio’s top-down horror adventure game, Darkwood, releasing on consoles this month with a variety of different release dates depending on the console. Currently already available on PC, the game will be releasing on the PlayStation 4 on May 14th, Nintendo Switch on the 16th, and finally the Xbox One on May 17th.

Rather than focusing on jump scares, Darkwood is a survival horror game that will see players crafting weapons, preparing traps, and fortifying their hideouts as they explore and scavenge the eerie forests of the Soviet Bloc by day, then hunker down in your hideout at night. With nightmarish forces corrupting the woods, wait and pray for the sun to come up the next morning. A new trailer for the game has been released and you can check it out below.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 Introduces Brujah Clan

Last week Paradox Interactive and developer Hardsuit Labs began releasing trailers for Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 by introducing us to the newly designated Thinblood clan and now the company has released some information and a new trailer focusing on the returning Brujah Clan. Among vampires, the Brujahs’ powers are as overwhelming as their convictions.

The Brujah have never been a large part of the Seattle Kindred community, but when they do show up to a party, they make their presence known immediately. Many of the Seattle Brujah are leftovers from failed Anarch movements in the past century, most choosing to remain unaffiliated or loosely affiliated with the city’s political factions.

Currently Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is set to be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in Q1 2020 and you can check out the Brujah trailer below.

Sonic The Hedgehog Movie Director States Sonic Design Will be Changed

A couple of days ago the first trailer for the Sonic the Hedgehog live-action movie was released and results from fans were a bit mixed. In fact the fan outcry about the way Sonic looks in the movie compared to how Sega has portrayed him has been so outspoken that it looks like the animation team is going to have to put in some overtime as the movie’s director Jeff Fowler has taken to Twitter to state that they know fans are not happy with Sonic’s look and that they will be fixing his appearance before the film is released in November.

Currently the Sonic the Hedgehog movie is set to be released in theaters in North America on November 8th with an Australian release planned for January 9, 2020.
