Frictional Games Reveals Their Newest Mind-Bending Narrative Mystery Launching in 2026 for PC and Console 

LONDON (Dec. 11, 2025) – Video games publisher and creative studio Kepler Interactive and Frictional Games, the independent developer known for SOMA, and the Penumbra and Amnesia series, have today revealed their newest project, ONTOS, a sci-fi mystery thriller coming to PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S next year. Featuring Golden Globe winner Stellan Skarsgård within its talented cast, ONTOS has been developed as a spiritual successor to the critically acclaimed SOMA by the talented Swedish development team, bringing their immersive gameplay systems and unrivalled storytelling and worldbuilding to the next level.

In ONTOS, players will become Aditi Amani, a resourceful engineer, as she explores the repurposed moon hotel Samsara in search of the truth around her estranged father. Samsara is a vast labyrinth built atop the ruins of a failed mining colony, and players will explore this open, interconnected environment in their quest for the truth. Every corner of Samsara tells a story, and every story has something hiding beneath the surface, waiting to be found… 

Players will scavenge for helpful items, manipulate intricate machinery and face intense tests of morality as they encounter horrific Experiments throughout Samsara. There is no ‘one solution’ to the obstacles players will encounter in ONTOS. Players will need to use their wits and ingenuity to reach the narrative’s mysterious conclusions and face the consequences of their choices.

The dungeons have been plundered and the monsters long slain. As the heroes move on, an elderly witch quietly gets to work. Coven of the Chicken Foot is a single-player adventure about the building of a bond between an elderly witch named Gertie and a peculiar creature, who must learn to work together to fulfill an oath. Cakey’s Twisted Bakery launches on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S on December 11. This stealth-driven survival horror throws players into a wild bakery overrun by sweet and sinister creatures. On January 8, 2026, the game will also arrive on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Cakey’s Twisted Bakery is already available on PC.

The game was created by TinyMindz, a two-person indie studio from the United States. It originally debuted on PC in 2024, where it was warmly received by players. Cakey’s Twisted Bakery is a first-person stealth survival horror. Players take on the role of a child searching for their missing brother inside a bakery filled with dough-based monsters who view children as the perfect baking ingredient. The main threat is the titular Cakey, accompanied by his equally dangerous partners – Frostina and Candy Bane.

Gameplay focuses on sneaking and hiding to avoid these creatures. Crafting plays an important role, giving players a chance to fight back and survive. Randomized elements ensure that each playthrough feels a little different.

Inside this twisted bakery, players explore a mix of darkness and desserts. To stay alive, they must collect randomly placed ingredients used to bake colorful cakes. Throwing a perfectly baked cake can stun or defeat enemies. A flashlight helps locate key items, and players can also discover various notes scattered around the bakery.
