LOS ANGELES, CA – JUNE 25, 2020 – Easy Day Studios announced that community created content will be available in the full launch of Skater XL on July 28. Three new maps created by Skater XL modding community members – ‘Streets’ by Jean-Olive, ‘Hűdland Training Facility’ by Pactole, and the world debut of ‘Grant Skate Park’ by Theo – will be the first Skater XL modding content available on all platforms. Each map has also been given visual enhancements by Easy Day’s art team in collaboration with the map creator.

“Since the Early Access launch of Skater XL, the modding community has grown to a humbling 84,000 members who have created thousands of amazing maps, fake skate brands and gear,” states Dain Hedgpeth, Co-founder of Easy Day Studios. “Their creativity and passion has not only inspired us, but has become an integral part of the Skater XL experience and we want to pay homage to this by including some of their work at launch. This is just the beginning of our plans to involve the community as we look towards launch and beyond.”

Skater XL Modding Community Map Details:

  • ‘Grant Skate Park’ by Theo

Grant Skate Park, created by modder turned Easy Day Studios team member Theo, is one of Chicago’s premier public skateparks. The three-acre waterfront park has a variety of terrain, including street and transition features with a focus on overall flow. Revealed here for the first time, Theo’s version of this real-life skate park holds true to its layout and design, while small tweaks have been added to optimize gameplay.

  • ‘Streets’ by Jean Olive

‘Streets’ by prolific map creator Jean Olive is a mash up of street spots inspired by some of the best terrain in the skateboarding world. ‘Streets’ encompass several city blocks of skateable territory, from San Francisco-esque hills, to the unique skateable architecture of Spain. Players will recognize skate spots from Los Angeles and New York, as well as Jean Olive’s own creative designs.

  • ‘Hűdland Training Facility’ by Pactole

An original creation by Pactole, ‘Hűdland’ is every skater’s dream private skatepark. Packed full of street and transition features, Hűdland is the perfect indoor place to hone your skills before taking them to the streets. Features include flatbars, stairs, hips, handrails, quarterpipes and more. The warehouse setting and overhead skylights give the map a unique look and feel, while the overall flow of the park will keep players perfecting lines for hours.

In further support of the modding community, PC players can now find Skater XL‘s extensive catalog of community created mods at Mod.io. The new platform will allow mod creators to easily manage uploaded Skater XL mod content, and gives players quick and organized access when  searching and downloading all of the best new Skater XL community content. For more information, please check out the new Skater XL modding site at skaterxl.mod.io.

Oasis Games Launches Official New One-Punch Man Mobile RPG, One-Punch Man: Road to Hero 2.0

Now Available for Android and iOS, New One-Punch Man Game Offers Polished and Deep Team Combat with the Convenience of an Idle Strategy Game

June 30, 2020 – Oasis Games Ltd, a leading global game publisher, today announced it has released the new mobile RPG, One-Punch Man: Road to Hero 2.0, on Google Play and the App Store. The company’s second One-Punch Man mobile title, the all-new game builds the storyline, characters, and worldview of seasons one and two of the anime into a compelling game experience. Road to Hero 2.0 offers deep and satisfying team combat that can be enjoyed as intensely or casually as players prefer.

One-Punch Man: Road to Hero 2.0 is produced under the supervision of the animation production committee in close cooperation with the Japanese art team of the hit anime series, One-Punch Man, to provide an authentic experience. The game is designed to offer a fresh new experience to delight fans and roleplaying gamers alike. In the game, players collect and train characters representing all the heroes from the series via a streamlined approach. This makes it easier to build a strong combat team while preserving all the strategy of assembling and placing characters to overcome each set of challenges and opponents. To preserve game balance, Saitama isn’t a playable character, but all other characters are available for players to unlock as they progress.

The game has two strategic battle modes: a rich Story mode, following Saitama’s complete adventures, and a diverse City mode that provides daily and ongoing challenges. In all battle modes, players can strategically position characters before combat, placing characters with higher hit points and defense first while hiding attack and support characters in the second and third rows for more protection. There are four different classes with a rock, paper, scissors relationship, so positioning characters opposite enemies of vulnerable classes provides an advantage. Once the battle starts, players can let the combat proceed automatically or manually initiate rage-based special attacks for maximum effect.

In City mode, players can fulfill daily activities including Recruiting new heroes, moving up through the floor-based Extreme Trial combat, taking on the daily Road to Be Strong competition. Players can also join and manage Guilds, make in-game Friends, and claim their progress on Leaderboards to earn rewards.

One-Punch Man: Road to Hero 2.0 immerses fans in the world of One-Punch Man to combine fun team combat strategy with the ease and convenience of an idle RPG game,” said Jinyang Xu, Producer of One-Punch Man: Road to Hero 2.0 at Oasis Games. “We invite every fan to become the hero they want to be as they battle their way to the top of the leaderboards!”

One-Punch Man: Road to Hero 2.0 is developed and published by Oasis Games, and the game is now available on Google Play and the App Store as a free download with optional in-game purchases. For more information, please visit the game’s official Facebook page.

Disintegration Review

Disintegration

Developer: V1 Interactive
Publisher: Private Division
Platforms: PlayStation 4Xbox OneWindows (Reviewed)
Release Date: 16 Jun 2020
Price: $49,99USD – Available Here

Overview

A random fact about me: sometimes I dabble in cooking. It is an exquisite art of combining two or more ingredients into something new and as a reward – you get to eat it later! And you can’t eat video games (although I imagine some definitely tried out of losing rage). Video games are also trickier cause when you mix two or more ingredients into something new, there is a good chance it might turn into something bad. What I have now in front of me is a game that tries to mix shooting with some real-time strategy, so let’s see how well that goes.

Story

Set in the near future on Earth, the only hope for human survival is through Integration, a process developed to preserve human brains in robotic armatures. You play as Romer Shoal, a former Gravcycle pilot in command of a small resistance force still grasping onto the fading memories of their human selves. With the domineering Rayonne forces set on eliminating the final remnants of human society, it’s up to Romer and his crew of Outlaws to fight back and reboot humanity. The good old question of how much of ourselves define us. Is a mind alone what makes a human and does our shell matter as well? I suppose it does since Romer wasn’t too keen on letting all of it go.

Gameplay

Now we get to the interesting part(s). There is a short tutorial teaching you the basics of the game that you definitely do not want to skip. The hallmark of the game, Gravcycle, is a weaponized hoverbike that you can upgrade later on. You’re also not alone on your path to violently disassemble robots. On most of the missions, you’ll be accompanied by a couple of friendly ground units that you can give commands to. These range from attacking specific clusters of enemies, liberating prisoners, or activating health pods for your Gravcycle (or health packs, pretty much). What’s good about your AI units is that they’re not only there as a distraction for enemies and to draw enemy fire away from you. They do some considerable damage and careful planning and issuing of commands will sometimes be a defining factor in completing a level or not. What’s not good about them is that there isn’t much I in AI. I would often find them not running away from enemy grenades and focusing on enemies further away while another one is shooting a meter away from them. While it feels incredibly fun organizing stakeouts and ambushes against enemy troops, wining is anything but exciting. Enemy units will often run for cover through an open area and be absolutely demolished by my soldiers. Throwing a grenade at them is a sure hit since they’re too slow or perhaps just lazy to hide.

Visuals

Although there is a variety in different areas as you progress through the game, I couldn’t help to think that something was missing. Pretty soon I realized that something was pretty much everything. While the levels are huge and offer enough space for planning the attacks, the whole area, no matter where you are, feels incredibly empty. There’s you, your units, enemies that are hidden somewhere, a deserted building here or there ad that’s about it. Rinse and repeat that design for the next dozen of levels, if not more. While the visuals occasionally shine, they’re marred by the uninspiring design behind it.

Audio

Unfortunately, the same translates to audio. Aside from cutscenes and main menu, there is little to no gameplay music Eventually, I gave up waiting for something to happen so I fired up a random Spotify playlist to keep me company while I blast away through enemy troops. The occasional emptiness in the game world can be a good thing if executed correctly, but it has no place in an action-oriented game where you spend most of the gameplay on shooting.

Overall

What I’m going to give Disintegration will be some good points for trying. And not much for anything else. It is an admirable mix that works in theory but falls flat due to a lack of content. I expected more when it came to my customization of Gravcycle, more options when commandeering my units, and definitely more variety in enemy and level design. If there is one thing Disintegration does well, it’s that it is a perfect game for the “wait for a sale” tag. With a hefty price, lack of polish and occasional bugs it feels like you’re playing a beta that’s very near to be released out of Early Access. Disintegration is a story of what could have been and a harsh lesson of what it shouldn’t be.
