Larian Studios reveals Baldur’s Gate 3’s launch key art & new video on multiplayer cinematics

DUBLIN Sept. 10, 2020 — Larian Studio’s newest Baldur’s Gate 3 Community Update video, released today, breaks down the game’s cinematic ambitions for early access, which begins on September 30. It also introduces more interactivity through Stadia Crowd Choice and Twitch integration. A huge leap from Divinity: Original Sin’s rock-paper-scissors multiplayer interactions, Baldur’s Gate 3 features 1.5 million words, with fully cinematic dialogues.

Multiplayer & Cinematics Community Update:

Using a mix of performance capture and bespoke adaptive cameras, the game is able to react to whoever you are and whatever you do, both in multiplayer and single-player. With the addition of streaming integration, even viewers who may not own the game now have a say in the player’s journey.

Larian’s Cinematic Director, Jason Latino, explains, “You’re telling your story, and we’re shooting it for you. We’re taking that camera down from being above the players and down into the drama, right into the action.

“I can’t think of another early access game that’s done cinematics on this level,” he added. “There’s a lot of games where the moment you add cinematics, they have to get smaller. We didn’t want to do that.”

Community Update #6 – Multiplayer & Cinematics goes into detail about how Larian is combining a cinematic, player-driven narrative through early access, with multiplayer interactions both within and outside of the game session. It shows how far the team has come since Divinity: Original Sin, back in 2014.

When enabled by a streamer, Crowd Choice brings the journey to YouTube viewers, where Stadia viewers can vote. The streamer is seamlessly presented with the results in percentages, and can then choose to follow the players, or go their own way.

Twitch integration works by numbering each dialogue option, which corresponds to viewer choices. This feedback is seamlessly integrated into the game, where both streamer and viewer will see each percentage vote next to each dialogue option. What’s more, players will be able to interact with the Twitch overlay to access the player’s inventory, character sheet, skills, and spells.

Both of these features are launching day one of early access, respectively, on PC and Stadia. This not only brings the community closer to the player, but also, due to the amount of permutations in dialogues, enables streamers to “DM” their own adventure for viewers, letting viewers partake in the story regardless of whether they own the game. Players will be able to become a part of their favorite streamer’s own private canon. Or, as a streamer or viewer, hide the feature entirely. It’s up to them. As always, the game reacts appropriately.

Early access is rapidly approaching, and Larian is happy to launch with nearly everything needed to give players a sense of the ambition behind Baldur’s Gate 3. Dialogues have more permutations than ever before, and so too does the game. Not only does the game retain the narration previous Larian titles are so well known for, you’ll often see that action on screen — whether it’s a vampiric bite in the night, or a slip of the tongue on a goblin’s foot. Of course, there are many more for players to discover on their own.

Whether in solo, with friends — or streaming with an audience — no matter how you choose to experience Baldur’s Gate 3, the tools and systems that allow the game to adapt to the story forged by players are ready for early access on September 30.

French developer Tactical Adventures announced today its upcoming Tactical RPG Solasta: Crown of the Magister will be available on Steam Early Access October 20. The launch date was announced in an exclusive gameplay trailer that shows the games unique features, including light, verticality, and distinguished tabletop gameplay elements as a party of four heroes ventures into the darkness on a brand new adventure through the world of Solasta.

Community competition set to begin in world’s most popular mobile game, offering chance to be featured in-game and more

Los Angeles – Sept. 10, 2020 – PUBG MOBILEplayers can drop in and design away as an all-new in-game community-driven challenge begins from Aug 27. Fans can create and submit their own avatar design concepts for a chance to win real-world and in-game prizes. Specially-selected contest participants will also have their winning designs added into PUBG MOBILE for mobile gamers around the world to use. Since the PUBG MOBILE launch in 2018, players and community members have had the opportunity to express their individual style and flair through character, gear, vehicle and other miscellaneous skins in countless combinations.   • Preliminaries (Wednesday, Sept. 16 through Sunday, Sept. 27) – The official art team and professional judges with evaluate all outfits and choose which ones move forward
  • Voting (Monday, Sept. 28 through Monday, Oct. 5) – All players and community members will have the opportunity to cast their vote for their favorite submissions
  • Reward Announcement (Tuesday, Oct. 13) – The outfits that have been selected will be announced.

The grand prize for the PUBG MOBILE Global Outfits Design Contest 2020 includes $5,000 USD and a PUBG MOBILE official Art Pack book, in addition to the designated artwork being added as a 3D playable model in-game. Similarly, three “Judges’ Choice” awards will also receive game inclusion and the Art Pack books, along with $2,000 USD. Starting now through September 17, players will have the opportunity to craft a selection of desired items with their guildmates to win exciting rewards from Shop Titans’ vault of rare and seasonal items. Ragnarok Game LLC and developer Studio 369 announced today that RUNE II’s largest content update, The Campaign Update, is now available now via the Epic Games Store. This refresh introduces an all-new main narrative to replace the old RUNE II storyline, with new characters, numerous quests, and an ending sequence fit for a legendary Viking saga. The Campaign Update includes the new dungeons of Midgard, a skill tree system based on four different god paths (Odin, Hel, Thor, and Heathen), horde events, village system with destructible buildings, and an updated Co-Op Campaign.

RUNE II The Campaign Update Features:

  • Main Narrative Overhaul: A new overarching story is introduced to RUNE II, with three main chapters that unwinds a tale of betrayal, rebirth, and revenge. Numerous side quests have been added to compliment the now linear direction.
  • Dungeons of Midgard: Deep within the depths of Midgard, an ancient evil has awoken. Inspired by classic RUNE levels, the dungeons will challenge the most hardened Viking warriors as they encounter a gauntlet of enemies, challenging platform sequences, and vile monster bosses. Rare loot awaits!
  • Skill Tree System: Bring the power of the Norse gods to aid your quest with unique abilities from the new skill tree system. Gain experience and unlock over 20 abilities centered around your chosen deity… or reject the gods to choose the heathen path!
  • Viking Village Life: Rebuild the land of Midgard by gathering resources to repair villages. Create longhouses, forges, and other buildings to restore the community as villagers return to rally behind your cause. Loki’s army will attack during Horde Events, so take up arms with villagers to defend to the last man, woman, and child!
  • Updated Co-Op Campaign: The new RUNE II narrative is best experienced together with friends online and co-op multiplayer has been vastly improved. Battle side-by-side against enemy hordes, revive fallen companions during battle, assault enemy fortifications to destroy their buildings, and stand as one to face the prankster god Loki!
