Fallout 76 | Free Play Week, In-Game Events, Fallout 1st Preview and More Begin Now

Bombs Drop Day is here and to celebrate Fallout 76 is free-to-play across all platforms this week! Players will be treated to limited-time in-game events including a Legendary Vendor Sale, plus a limited Fallout 1st preview, game sales, discounts for Atoms packs and more.

Free Play Week
From October 20 through October 26, players can hop into Fallout 76 and play the game for free! This includes the base game experience, as well as Wastelanders and Nuclear Winter. Players can jump in from the start of the game, and if they decide to purchase the game when the Free Play Week ends, all progress will carry over, and so will any Atomic Shop purchases made during the week. In-Game Events
There will be three in-game events running from October 22 – 26. Get Double S.C.O.R.E. and Double XP, as well as 25% off Legendary weapons and armour from the Purveyor at the Rusty Pick in the Ash Heap.

Limited Fallout 1st Preview
Players can get a taste of a Fallout 1st membership with the free Fallout 1st Preview. In order to claim it, all players have to do is log in between October 20 and October 26, find the free Fallout 1st Limited Preview “item” in the Atomic Shop, and they’ll have access to some of the features offered with the membership. PAC-MAN AND CATERPILLAR INC. RECREATE CLASSIC ARCADE GAME USING HEAVY DUTY CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT

BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America Inc. and Caterpillar Inc. have announced The Cat Trial #9: PAC-MAN™, the newest entry in a series of short films demonstrating the capabilities of Caterpillar’s machines through different challenges, this time via a real-life game of PAC-MAN featuring a 29,296 sq. ft. maze and heavy duty machines. Just in time to celebrate PAC-MAN’s 40th anniversary, this entry sees five professionals from the worlds of esports and social media, as well as Caterpillar’s own customers manning construction equipment to live out their arcade dreams by recreating a classic PAC-MAN scenario. To recreate the arcade experience on a real-life construction site, Caterpillar utilized 6,880 yards of cut dirt from which to dig out the maze and berm (a horizontal surface acting as a fortification). In the end, a total of 5,300 tons of earth was moved, resulting in a maze with walls measuring 4 ft. high and overall dimensions of 162.4 by 180.4 ft. 

POWER PELLETS placed in the maze are represented by Cat Services— Customer Value Agreements, Repair Options, Cat Financial and Cat App, while fruit bonuses are also represented on the field by Cat part boxes. The participants controlling the Cat 236D3 skid steers using line-of-sight remote control systems were:

  • PAC-MAN™ – Played by Jim Kosner of JIMAX Landscaping & Demolition, Peoria, Ill.
  • BLINKY – Played by Joey Stone, NASCAR/Richard Childress Racing (RCR) eSports driver of the #8 Virtual Cat car
  • INKY – Played by Alfonso Farjardo of Horsepower Site Services, Charlotte, N.C., a Caterpillar Global Operator Challenge regional finalist
  • PINKY – Played by BLITZ, social media influencer, YouTube gaming content creator, and civil engineer

Cagliostro Prepares to Synthesize Players in Granblue Fantasy: Versus on PlayStation 4 and PC Today

Hit mobile game adds new zombie mode, virtual rock band, festive outfits and cheer park updates just in time for Halloween

LOS ANGELES – Oct. 20, 2020 – PUBG MOBILE is amping up the tricks and treats right in time for Halloween with the introduction of “Halloweeks Mode,” a new themed gameplay mode on the classic Erangel map. In addition to the game type, PUBG MOBILE’s new in-game rock and roll band POWER4 arrives for its debut track and themed outfits. Besides, players can also experience the festive exclusive gameplay in Cheer Park Training Ground, which is among PUBG MOBILE’s latest Halloweeks content beginning today.

Just after the beloved PVP playmode popularly known as “Infection Mode” returns for Halloween, beginning this Friday, Oct. 23 through Monday, Nov. 9, players can experience ever greater Halloween atmosphere when they queue for Erangel. Players will have a chance to enter “Halloweeks Mode” when they play matches in Erangel. In this mode, Zombie Camps appear at four fixed locations around the battleground where contains wandering zombies and valuable crates. When all zombies in a camp are eradicated, the corresponding crates will open, providing teams with valuable resources. Similarly, four new Roaming Bosses have the chance of appearing at Zombie Camps, which haunt approaching players and increase their energy by punching players within melee range and throwing rocks at players who are far away. Defeating Roaming Bosses will also get essential battle supplies.

The Halloweeks content update also introduces PUBG MOBILE’s virtual rock band, POWER4. The ensemble’s four members, made up of powerful elemental lords, debut their first track “Nothing’s Getting In Our Way” in game. The song expresses the pursuit of self-improvement and portrays the spirit of having no fear of challenges and teamwork, as written in the lyrics “together we’re a force that can’t be tamed and nothing’s getting in our way!” Players can also get the POWER4 outfits with mental rock cool style, which matches the action-packed battle style of PUBG MOBILE. More Halloweeks exclusive themed outfits are available in game.

Created as a simple-but-challenging table tennis simulation, the influential PONG arcade game debuted on November 29, 1972. It was the first commercially successful video game and an immediate smash hit that effectively established the video game industry. PONG was originally meant to be a simple training exercise, assigned to newly hired engineer Allan Alcorn by Atari founder Nolan Bushnell to acclimate him to creating games. Alcorn went above and beyond, adding appealing features such as segmented paddles that changed the angle of the “ball” and accelerating speeds as play went on. Alcorn also elected to retain a “glitch” that didn’t allow the paddles to reach the top of the screen, which added to the game’s difficulty. Lastly, Bushnell had Alcorn add cheering crowd noises and other sound effects. The game was so well-received that Bushnell and the team were able to rapidly grow Atari and an entire industry was born.

MODUS GAMES ANNOUNCES GAMES GIVING BACK CHARITY INITIATIVE, COMMITS TO ONGOING CONTRIBUTIONS INFORMED BY PUBLISHING LINEUP

Charitable program to roll out with Modus Twitch Streaming Event on Oct. 21

Walnut Creek, Calif. (Oct. 20, 2020) – Independent games publisher Modus Games today announced Games Giving Back, an ongoing charitable initiative which will see the label contributing a series of donations supporting important causes.

The program will consist of a sequence of donations benefiting charities chosen to align with Modus Games’ portfolio of releases.

Games Giving Back will kick off on Oct. 21 at 10am PDT with a livestreaming event via Modus Games’ Twitch channel, during which the benefiting charity will receive a donation in recognition of Rock of Ages 3: Make & Break’s release in late August.

To celebrate Rock of Ages 3, a game which cleverly tells a reimaged history of the world and invites players to build their own custom courses, Modus Games is donating $10,000 to The Exceptional Women Awardees Foundation (EWA), a program that empowers and equips women of all backgrounds with the tools necessary to advance the course of their careers through coaching and mentorship.

“Games Giving Back is an important way for us to further contribute to causes close to our hearts, and we’re honored to help advance the mission of EWA by sponsoring exceptional women in business,” said Christina Seelye, CEO of Modus Games.

The livestream will be hosted by Modus Games’ community manager who will be joined by the game’s developers as they play custom stages built by the Rock of Ages 3: Make & Break community.
Future Games Giving Back donations will be revealed during upcoming events joined by developers and community guests in support of additional worthy causes.
