This month is packed full of comfy games, remastered classics, spooky adventures, and more. I would like to think I could brave a night in my couch fort at home playing these games – but I scare easily and might stick with playing with the lights on. Let’s get to everything coming soon!

Carto (Console & PC) ID@Xbox – October 27
Separated from her Granny during a storm, young Carto must use her innate cartography powers to map and manipulate the world around her on her quest to be reunited. As she discovers new “pieces” of the game map, players can rearrange them to shape the levels themselves – unlocking new paths, puzzles, and story moments.

Day of the Tentacle Remastered (Console & PC) – October 29
Released by LucasArts in 1993 as a sequel to Ron Gilbert’s ground-breaking Maniac Mansion, Day of the Tentacle is a mind-bending, time travel, cartoon puzzle adventure game in which three unlikely friends work together to prevent an evil mutated purple tentacle from taking over the world! Double Fine’s remastered version is a perfectly preserved piece of puzzle and adventure, and it’s now available with Game Pass! Grim Fandango Remastered (Console & PC) – October 29
One of the most acclaimed adventure games of all time arrives on Xbox Game Pass! Manny Calavera is a travel agent at the Department of Death, selling luxury packages to recently departed souls on their four-year journey to eternal rest. But there’s trouble in paradise: a conspiracy that threatens Manny’s very salvation and the afterlife itself. Originally released by LucasArts in 1998, Grim Fandango’s remastered edition comes care of Double Fine Productions and brings revamped visuals and sounds (including fully orchestrated music) to a beloved classic.

Ark: Fear Evolved 4 Event – Until November 6
A blood moon is rising! The Ark: Fear Evolved 4 event is coming, delivering candy corn, spooky skeletons, randomly spawning gravestones, scarecrows and pumpkin patches. From October 27 to November 6, the community’s most requested event will be active for Ark Survivors on Xbox.

Dead by Daylight: The Eternal Blight Event – Until November 4
Launched with this Tome is a time-limited in-game event called The Eternal Blight which is available starting October 21 until November 4. This event features returning Survivor items, Halloween themed charms, offerings and themed in-game content, plus new Survivor and Killer addons including the very first universal Killer add-on. Finally, players would be remiss to not take advantage of the giant Halloween sale on outfits in the in-game store.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Witches Festival – Until November 3
The Elder Scrolls Online’s most ghoulish gala returns – the Witches Festival! Partake (if you dare) and receive repulsive rewards in the form of spooky Plunder Skulls, double XP, collectibles and more. This in-game event will run until Thursday, November 3.

Fallout 76: Fasnacht Parade (October 30 – November 2)
Fasnacht Parade is a repeatable Seasonal Event that begins October 30 and runs every hour until November 2. Speak with the Master of Ceremonies in Helvetia to join your fellow dwellers in aiding the town’s robotic shopkeepers as they set up for the annual parade. Help them complete a variety of party prep activities, like playing musical instruments, decorating the town, and more. Once everything is ready, the dutiful Protectrons will line up to begin the Fasnacht Parade. Keep them safe on their route to earn rewards, like fantastic Fasnacht Masks. Trade and collect Fasnacht Masks while they are still around.

Minecraft Dungeons Apocalypse Plus Difficulty & Spooky Fall Limited Time Event
For Minecraft Dungeons players who aren´t afraid of a challenge, the free update coming to the game on October 26 will make their dreams (or nightmares) come true. The update will introduce the new Apocalypse Plus feature, which adds a harder difficulty mode where mobs are meaner, faster and more powerful than ever. And starting on that day, and through November 3, you´ll be able to experience the creepy trials of the Spooky Fall event. The time-limited Seasonal Trials will bring new challenges – and new rewards! The prizes for surviving these supernatural trials will be ultra-exclusive gear and weapons that are a must-have for this spooky season. Make sure you join in the frightful festivities before time is up!

Secret Neighbor Halloween Update
Secret Neighbor is getting a major update that adds new features to the Xbox One version: the new Neighbor class adds an extra layer of challenge; a darker visual presentation and Halloween decorations deliver a spooky experience to the players. Alongside that, the new major update contains plenty of quality of life improvements as well as some new content for players to enjoy.

State of Decay 2 Swine & Bovine Outfit
State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition has a new outfit called the Swine & Bovine, a grungy mechanic jumpsuit + welder’s mask that will be available as an in-game bounty. All players have to do is log into the game between October 28 and November 4, and it will be automatically added to their closet!

Level up your Netflix game with PS5 tips and game-inspired entertainment

Assassin’s Creed Live Action Series Coming to Netflix
Netflix and game developer Ubisoft have just made an exciting announcement: that a live-action series adaption of the iconic game, Assassin’s Creed, is in development. It will be an epic, genre-bending live action adaptation. A search is currently on for a showrunner, while Ubisoft Film & Television’s Jason Altman and Danielle Kreinik will serve as Executive Producers (tweet, for reference). 

A dedicated Netflix button on the PS5 media remote: The much-awaited PlayStation5 comes out next month. And it has gamers really excited. What’s more, PS5 owners will be able to easily access Netflix through a dedicated button on the Playstation 5 media remote. Also, the PS5’s control center will have a dedicated space for your TV and media apps. And Netflix can be found here, making it easier to access the app. Even without the media remote, navigating Netflix through your DualSense controller is simple. The arrow keys function as your directional buttons, and clicking the X button confirms a selection, while pressing the O button cancels or sends you back. To start watching, simply log in with your account details on the app and start streaming.

While fans wait for the Assassin’s Creed series, here are some movies and series adapted from games that are already on Netflix:

• Dad of Light is a Japanese series based on the popular MMORPG, Final Fantasy 14 (also confirmed to be available on the PS5). The story revolves around a father and a son who bond while playing the acclaimed game.
• Castlevania is a three-season anime series based on the classic platform game. It is the story of a vampire hunter fighting endless hordes of monsters controlled by Dracula.
• Dragon Quest: Your Story is an animated movie based on the popular J-RPG Dragon Quest. The movie follows the adventures of Luca as he looks to rescue his mother from the evil Ladja. The story touches on the themes of family and friendship.
• Dragon’s Dogmais an adaptation of the 2012 game on the PlayStation3. It revolves around Ethan and his quest to slay the dragon that attacked his village.
• Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness is an upcoming Netflix Original anime series based on the popular 1996 Playstation zombie-shooter game. The horror-action series will focus on the popular Resident Evil characters, Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield.

• The Witcher: The Geralt of Rivia, played by Henry Cavill, had everyone in awe when the series released last year on Netflix. The fantasy drama is based on a book series by the same name, by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski. However, it was adapted into an RPG in 2007 and published by Atari.  

Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty now available on Nintendo Switch

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege’s Esports includes 4 main regions, Europe, North America, Latin America and Asia-Pacific. All four regions run in parallel their own dedicated regional leagues, all feeding into one unique and global race towards a qualification for the Six Invitational, the pinnacle of the Rainbow Six Siege competitive year. Each regional league ties into a coherent global program, one unique race towards a qualification for the Six Invitational. Get A Closer Look at NBA 2K21 Gameplay on Next-Gen with Visual Concepts Developers

Executive Producer Erick Boenisch and Gameplay Director Mike Wang Break Down New Next-Gen Gameplay

Since the first reveal of NBA 2K21 gameplay on next-gen consoles, the team at Visual Concepts has been hard at work sharing more details on how the game is built from the ground up to fully utilize the full power, speed and technology of the PlayStation®5 and Xbox Series X|S. Today, Visual Concepts executive producer Erick Boenisch and gameplay director Mike Wang presented a closer look at some of the new advancements brought on by the arrival of next-gen hardware.

Commentating over new Golden State Warriors vs. New Orleans Pelicans gameplay footage captured directly from an in-progress build of NBA 2K21, Erick and Mike highlighted several examples of what the team was able to achieve in the next-gen version of the game. This included:

• Lightning-Fast Load Times: By utilizing the built-in solid-state drives (SSDs) of the next-gen consoles, NBA 2K21 now features incredibly short load times that get players directly into the action;
• Closer to the Real Basketball than Ever: Next-gen advancements around movement, impact, shooting, dribbling and more lead to an NBA 2K experience that blurs the line between game and reality;
• The Arena Comes to Life: A new standard of crowd interactivity has been established in NBA 2K21, thanks to the more than 150 AI-powered characters populating the Lower Bowl of the arena;
• New Perspective to the Game: The dynamic new Rail Cam presentation transports the player to the hardwood floors, providing a full view of the game and highlights the incredible visual fidelity of the players and arena.

Speaking of commentary – longtime fans will be excited to learn that the next-gen version of NBA 2K21 features two separate commentary teams! In addition to the current cast of Kevin Harlan, Greg Anthony and David Aldridge, players will also hear games cast by Brian Anderson (play-by-play), Grant Hill (color commentator) and Allie LaForce (sideline reporter), keeping the overall commentary experience fresh. Monsters Awaken Mode Raises the Dead in World of Tanks Console This Halloween

Hell hath no fury like a Tanker reborn

World of Tanks Console will once again raise the dead this Halloween, challenging players to release the beast and wreak havoc across two hair-raising maps, Grim Graveyard and Dead City. Make no bones about it, Monsters Awakened can be experienced across all generations of PlayStation®4 and Xbox One!

Between the 27^th of October and the 3^rd of November, players have the ability to take the graveyard shift, commanding ferocious tanks with otherworldly abilities. During the event, players who have earned or purchased a Monster Tank at any time will receive an ‘awakened’ version of the famous vehicle – reincarnating their tanks with double health which is a first for this event.

By selecting the event from the main menu, everyone will be able to participate in the blood-curdling gameplay – and those who don’t own a Monster Tank will receive a spin-chilling Spectre tank for the duration of the event. Nobody will escape the ghoulish gameplay of Monsters Awakened!

The 7v7 matches will pit monster on monster, with players required to master a whole host of new supernatural skills. From teleporting across maps through spirit portals to unleashing Atomic Breath on their enemies, this event is not for the faint of heart.

Players will also receive some incredible prizes, too – in the form of an amazing 300% Crew XP Bonus that will allow them to train any nations crew during the event. For those who acquired a Monster Tank through the store, there will also be the chance to earn Monster Drops – yielding Silver, XP Boosters and even points towards current season Levels!

Throughout the duration of the event, ammunition and repairs are free – helping possessed players send their enemies straight to hell. And, when the event comes to an end on the 3^rd of November, Awakened Monster Tanks will return to the grave – but the regular Monster Tanks will continue to haunt the world of the living and remain within player Garages.
