Featuring: Italian heavy tanks, a modified Platoon system, and interface improvements

The beginning of a new year is the right time to start a new journey with fresh content and features deploying in World of Tanks. Update 1.11.1 brings a new sub-branch of Italian heavy tanks with an improved autoreloading mechanic to the game. The updated Platoon system will allow you to find gaming buddies easier (without being limited to friends and contacts), and a few interface improvements make the gameplay even more enjoyable.

The new Italian heavy branch begins with the Tier VII Carro d’assalto P.88 and consists of four vehicles with great gun depression angles, well-armoured turrets, and stylish exteriors. The top animal in the pack, the Tier X Rinoceronte (‘Rhinoceros’), reminds us that Italy is famous for its automotive design traditions. A distinctive feature introduced with the new sub-branch is the improved autoreloading mechanic. As well as being able to choose between firing intermittent shots or salvos, with Tier VIII–X Italian heavies you get a rebate (up to 50%) for the reloading time of your next shell—if you had to shoot just before an extra round would be fully loaded into the clip.

Along with the new branch, four sets of battle missions are being introduced, each one dedicated to a separate tank in the sub-branch and giving out an Ancient Roman-themed emblem, inscription, and decal as rewards, with the Rinoceronte set also yielding the “Testudo Formation” 2D style. The style fits Italian vehicles only, and all other customisation elements can be applied to any vehicle. Each mission set is to be completed by its ‘own’ new Italian heavy, but all of them are also doable in the Rinoceronte or in the Tier VIII Premium tank, the Bisonte C45. A fifth customisation collection will also be available, exclusive to Twitch Drops – check back on the Portal in the coming days for more information.

In the game settings, you can now activate such options as the Proximity spotting circle (showing the radius of ‘unconditional’ spotting on the mini-map) and a repair timer for damaged vehicle modules.

CATHARINES, CANADA (January 26, 2021) —  Independent developers and winners of Jamming the Curve – Game Jam 2020’s prize for the Character Management Category and the LabX Game Development Grant, Devil’s Cider Games, is pleased to announce today their Among Us-inspired feline fever simulator, Cat Colony Crisis. Available for PC and mobile devices on February 9, Cat Colony Crisis puts players in charge of a spaceship full of kitties who begin showing symptoms of a mysterious illness. It’s up to them to enact proper measures to prevent the entire colony from becoming ill. 

Video games, as a medium, offer a level of immersion and engagement that allows us to learn by doing, making it an unparalleled educational tool — especially for a topic as complex as viral epidemiology. With this in mind, IndieCade, Seattle Indies, and LabX put together a collaborative game jam called “Jamming the Curve”, bringing together scientists and gamers to help combat the spread of COVID-19 by promoting “prosocial pandemic behaviors” using the power and easily digestible format of the video game medium. As a title that exemplifies the importance of these actions during a global pandemic, Cat Colony Crisis was awarded both the $20,000 LabX Game Development Grant and Best Character Management title.

Cats are known for being cuddly little balls of fur that oscillate between terrifying predator and adorable floof. However, one thing all cats have in common is a strong streak of independence and a reluctance towards teamwork. And as we’ve learned over the last year, managing a group of sick individuals who don’t want to be managed — and often won’t even admit they’re sick — can be quite challenging indeed. Combine kitties with contagion in the tight confines of a floating space colony and you’ve got yourself a heck of a management situation in your paws.
 
In Cat Colony Crisis, players find themselves monitoring a spaceship full of aptly named and cutely-attired space felines enjoying life in their floating home. Unfortunately, a mysterious illness begins to infect the populace, and the astro-cats start to develop symptoms. It’s up to the player to keep track of each individual and log their behavior and log any physical changes. Is Boots coughing because the recycled oxygen is too dry? Or is he displaying signs of something more sinister? Isolate potential spreaders and identify the correct symptoms to make sure the virus doesn’t spread. We know cats are cuddly, touchy animals but it’s your job to ensure proper social distancing and protocol is followed.

KING ARTHUR: KNIGHT’S TALE is a unique hybrid between turn-based tactical games and traditional, character-centric RPGs. Knight’s Tale is a modern retelling of a classic Arthurian mythology story filtered through dark fantasy tropes, a twist on the traditional tales of chivalry.

Explore a suboceanic research facility in this 2D action game inspired by 80’s and 90’s sci-fi classics; free demo available on Steam from February 3rd to 9th 

Hamburg, January 26th – Developer Cogwheel Software and publisher Daedalic Entertainment have today announced their new sci-fi thriller Hidden Deep scheduled to release on PC in 2021. Players will explore a vast suboceanic research and mining facility inhabited by alien creatures brought to life in a 2D game world full of action, mystery and danger. For players wanting to get a taste of what’s in store, a demo version of Hidden Deep will be available during the Steam Games Festival: February 2021 from February 3rd to February 9th. 

In Hidden Deep, you lead a team of four researchers to a mysterious facility 1,6 km below the ocean floor in order to find out what has happened to the station’s crew who have seemingly disappeared. You must command your team members and find out what happened to your colleagues in a dark sci-fi story inspired by 80s and 90s classics like Alien, The Thing and the first Half-Life game. Explore the depths using a variety of gadgets, shoot, blast or sneak your way through dangerous traps and alien lairs and try not to get eaten by the facility’s inhabitants (including your own crew members!).
