GOODBYEWORLD GAMES’ BEFORE YOUR EYES, A NEW NARRATIVE EXPERIENCE NAVIGATED THROUGH BLINKING, COMES TO STEAM APRIL 8TH

Skybound Games to Publish the Original Title

Los Angeles, CA (04.03.2021) – Award-winning, independent game developer GoodbyeWorld Games, along with Skybound Games and Verizon Media’s RYOT Studio, today announce Before Your Eyes – an emotional, narrative journey, navigated through the player’s real-world blinks – will come to PC via Steam on April 8, 2021. Fans can “wishlist” the game on Steam here.

The new announcement trailer for Before Your Eyes can be found here.

A personal tale of self-discovery at its core, Before Your Eyes tells a heartfelt story as players reflect and relive the happy, beautiful, and heartbreaking moments of a life once lived. Players embark upon a thought-provoking journey with the Ferryman who is tasked with shepherding souls to the afterlife. They move through time by using real-world blinking to interact and progress through the story.

Before Your Eyes’ unique blink interaction mechanic offers a novel way for players to control the story and become more immersed, as their progress is determined through their eyes and detected through the player’s webcam. As life flashes before their eyes, each blink will help the players interact with the world or make the memory fade and disappear like a dream. Players move organically through the story and experience its emotional peaks and valleys in the most natural way, until they reach the end of their journey and realize the ultimate truth.

Before Your Eyes is created by award-winning GoodbyeWorld Games, an indie collective based in Los Angeles. Originating as a keystone project by former USC game design student and GoodbyeWorld Games studio director and founder Will Hellwarth, the original version of the game, titled “Close Your,” received the prestigious Game Developers Choice award at Indiecade in 2014. It later went on to win the Student Award at the Independent Game Awards (IGF) in 2015.

“We’ve been working on this game since college—for the better part of a decade—so it’s really the definition of a labor of love,” said Oliver Lewin, game director and composer.

“We really can’t wait to get this into the hands of players, so they can finally experience this completely new way of using tech to tell human stories,” added Graham Parkes, writer and creative director. “It’s really something you have to experience firsthand.”

“GoodbyeWorld Games has made a unique and unforgettable experience with Before Your Eyes,” said Ian Howe, CEO of Skybound Games. “While keeping our eyes open can help us see, closing them may at times reveal what we hide from ourselves, and I love how the game conveys this. Most of us at Skybound teared up while playing the game and are honored to help this incredibly creative team deliver such an artistic and relatable game.”

AWAY: The Survival Series is an exploration adventure set in a distant future where nature has reclaimed the planet. Playing as a tiny sugar glider, soar across misty chasms, leap from tree to tree, and climb to the top of the forest canopy as you embark on a journey to save your family.

As you brave these untamed lands, you will have to hunt down small prey, fight larger enemies, and hide from apex predators. Jump, climb, and glide through your environments as you solve navigational puzzles and make your way through the dense wilderness.

Along the way players will uncover the mysterious remnants of a fallen human civilization. While most of the game is played from the perspective of the sugar glider, there are brief sequences where players can control other animals and insects, such as beetles, lizards, crabs, and more. The world of AWAY is vast and wild, and there’s something new to discover around every corner.

Breaking Walls is composed of an all-star team of industry veterans who have worked on acclaimed series such as Assassin’s Creed, Prince of Persia and Far Cry. Additionally, Breaking Walls has partnered with Life and Planet Earth II composer Mike Raznick to create an enchanting orchestral score for AWAY: The Survival Series. The result is a natural world brought to life with stunning detail.

“We’re proud to bring AWAY: The Survival Series to Xbox where it can discover a whole new audience,” said Breaking Walls Co-Founder and Creative Director Laurent Bernier. “AWAY: The Survival Series is a love letter to the natural world, where danger, beauty, life and death are all wrapped together in a cohesive, awe inspiring whole. Anyone who likes nature documentaries such as Planet Earth, Blue Planet, Life, and Our Planet, or just enjoys a good hike through the woods now and again, will find plenty to like in AWAY.”

Breaking Walls has also released a set of relaxing nature soundscapes recorded straight out of the game. Sydney, Australia, March 4, 2021 – Vertigo Games, the VR specialist publishing and development arm of the Koch Media Group, announced today that their next VR title After the Fall will be releasing on PlayStation VR, PC VR and yet to be announced VR platforms in (AUS) winter 2021.

Best-known for the platinum-selling VR FPS Arizona Sunshine, with this next major entry in the VR action FPS genre Vertigo Games will be bringing fast-paced 4-player co-op action to VR gamers worldwide, pitting players and their friends against a hostile, evolving post-apocalyptic LA in a fight for survival.

After the Fall is built from the ground up for a multi-platform VR rollout, with full cross-platform multiplayer, 4-player co-op functionality as well as support for a wide range of VR play styles that will offer an immersive thrillride for veteran VR gamers while remaining welcoming to VR newcomers as they conquer the infested, urban wasteland of 1980s Los Angeles together with friends or solo.

“Since the early concept phase, After the Fall has been all about having VR gamers team up together – regardless of the device they play on – through full cross-platform multiplayer functionality. In a time of widespread social isolation it feels like that goal now has additional relevance,” said Richard Stitselaar, Studio Director at Vertigo Games. “We’re truly excited about moving into this next campaign phase, in which we’ll be inviting more players into the game and sharing more details as we gear up towards launch.”

Armed with full VR motion controls, After the Fall will make you feel like a slightly overpowered 1980s action hero as you engage in the game’s high-paced combat with real-life movements. Season Two of Game Dev Sitcom 3 out of 10 Debuts 3 March, Over 9 Million Players Grab Season One

Season Two of Game Dev Sitcom 3 out of 10 Debuts 3 March, Over 9 Million Players Grab Season One

Surprise Launch for Season One on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One alongside Nintendo Switch

BOSTON — 3 March, 2020 — Season Two of 3 out of 10, the episodic playable sitcom about daily life at the world’s worst game development studio, premieres for free on the Epic Games Store Thursday, 8 April. Before the debut, catch up on Season One’s larger-than-life game dev storylines, launching on Nintendo Switch today alongside a surprise debut on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One.

Over 9 million players added 3 out of 10’s debut season to their Epic Games Store libraries. Today, Nintendo Switch and Xbox console players can binge the entire five-episode season for themselves. Play at up to 4K resolution and 60FPS on Xbox Series X. Exclusive to console, unlock and enjoy special features, including actor profiles, the official soundtrack, a concept art gallery, Big Head Mode, director commentary, and the surprise-laden Open Explore Mode for revisiting Season One’s many detailed environments.

Hot on the heels of 3 out of 10’s console premiere, the much-anticipated second season will bring five new episodes to the Epic Games Store for PC, all for free. Go behind-the-scenes of daily life for game developers, with raw, unfiltered looks at caffeine-fueled dimension hopping, gamer cred nightclubs, and other 9-to-5 doldrums. Every episode, all available on launch day, blends adventure game exploration with mini-game homages to every conceivable genre and franchise.

With a digestible runtime, scene selection, scene skip, and rewind capabilities, each episode makes it easy to follow the ongoing story of Shovelworks Studios. Where last we left the crew, new animator Midge Potter had just found a sliver of normalcy despite Pylon’s ketchup obsession, Francine’s sentient mannequins, spontaneously combusting coworkers, and Joan’s… uh, Joan. But the shadowy Parasol Agency wants Midge to sabotage the studio and ensure they never earn a review score higher than 3 out of 10.

More twists and turns wait just around the corner, and with development horribly askew totally on-track, the stakes are higher than ever. Stand against a horde of teleporting game designers in a mega-manly 2D boss battle. Twist metal in a car-battle showdown to escape a rival studio’s campus. Dance your way to victory in a rhythm-based rap battle about cows. Survive vicious murder drones in an FPS arena duel and playtest the tabletop version of… an endless endful runner?

“People might look at Season Two’s storylines and mini-games and think, ‘Wow. They’ve officially jumped the shark,” said Joe Mirabello, “writer” and “director,” Terrible Posture Games. “Well, joke’s on them! Shovelworks’ game is called Surfing with Sharks, not Jumping with Sharks. They cut jumping to hit their deadlines.”

3 out of 10: Season Two will debut on the Epic Games Store on Thursday, 8 April for free. 3 out of 10: Season One launches today on Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One for $9.99. For more well-intentioned satire, hang out with Terrible Posture Games on Twitter, Facebook, Discord, and the official website.

Elite Dangerous: Odyssey’s PC Alpha lands on 29 March

Elite Dangerous: Odyssey’s PC Alpha lands on 29 March

In the first mission playthrough video, watch Commanders team up and raid a hostile settlement in a combined arms operation in an Elite Dangerous: Odyssey pre-alpha build.

Cambridge, UK – 4 March 2021. Frontier Developments plc (AIM: FDEV) today announced that the PC Alpha for the highly anticipated Elite Dangerous: Odyssey game expansion will start on 29 March. In anticipation of the exciting new gameplay features Commanders will first experience during the Alpha phase, Frontier released a video showing an Odyssey mission playthrough, which features gameplay captured from a raid mission.

The video shows a team of three Commanders plunge into a daring on-foot raid of a military outpost. Their objective: to disable the power centre and ultimately render the opposing faction powerless.

All three Commanders in the incursion team are specially equipped for their assigned role, selected from the wide range of space suits, weapons and equipment available in Elite Dangerous: Odyssey. Their tactical gear grants them an edge in their assigned tasks, whether it is to infiltrate the base avoiding detection, lay down covering fire if the alarm is raised, hacking, or quickly extract their teammates from a tight spot if enemy forces overwhelm them.

The Elite Dangerous galaxy’s rich setting and open-ended design reaches a new level of depth thanks to Odyssey’s feet-on-the-ground gameplay. Introducing the detailed scale that is needed for on-foot gameplay while maintaining the vast distances measured in light years and the myriad missions available to players, Odyssey will greatly augment the already rich world of Elite Dangerous, offering a more personal experience for all Commanders to enjoy in their own way, in addition to the vast galaxy they can already explore.

Elite Dangerous: Odyssey releases on PC in late spring 2021 with an Alpha scheduled to begin on 29 March. Releases on the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system and the Xbox One all-in-one games and entertainment system are planned for Autumn 2021. Prospective PC Commanders can pre-order now and secure their access to the upcoming Alpha via Steam, the Epic Games Store and the Frontier Store.

For more information, follow Elite Dangerous on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube. Visit the Elite Dangerous official website at elitedangerous.com. For media assets, visit Frontier.co.uk/media.

Kyoto, Japan, March 3rd, 2021 –Skulls of the Shogun and GALAK-Z developer 17-BIT is proud to reveal their next title: the VR survival adventure Song in the Smoke. Coming to PlayStation VR, Oculus Quest and Oculus Rift this year, Song in the Smoke immerses players in a mysterious prehistoric world full of strange beasts where they must craft, forage, hunt, and fight to survive.

Awoken by a three-headed crow at the edge of a forest, Song in the Smoke players will travel through a world as varied as it is beautiful, moving between 8 stages: from lush forests, through ancient valleys, to frozen peaks. Embark on a quest to uncover the secrets of the Song in the Smoke, and stay alive by gathering materials to make tools, weapons, clothing, medicine and shelter. Use your club and your bow to fend off strange beasts and battle the elements to become the apex predator in this unforgiving environment.

Ambitious and expansive, Song in the Smoke utilizes VR to its full potential, allowing players to expertly identify threats with sound, sight, and smell. Use the world to your advantage, and stalk your prey from the tall grass. Intuitive VR controls let you line up the perfect shot with your bow, but be careful to listen out for the creatures that may be hunting you, or else you’ll have to fight for your life with clubs, sticks, or anything else you can get your hands on.

With art by famed illustrator Katsuya Terada (The Legend of Zelda, Blood: The Last Vampire, The Monkey King), Song in the Smoke creates a primordial wilderness unlike any other. Part survival game and part mysterious adventure, Song in the Smoke’s fantastical creatures and stylized scenery lend an eerie, otherworldly tone to an experience that’s both action-packed and intimate.

“At 17-BIT we love to create fresh takes on existing genres, from our lighthearted turn-based strategy game Skulls of the Shogun, to the modernized space shooter GALAK-Z. With Song in the Smoke, we dove even deeper into unknown territory: a VR survival adventure, with all new rules, in a completely new medium,” says 17-BIT founder and creative lead Jake Kazdal. “Song in the Smoke is unlike anything we’ve done before, and it’s our most ambitious title yet. The experience is so completely immersive and engaging, the forest is alive all around you in the extra dimension provided by VR. We’re thrilled to be offering an intense adventure that couldn’t be captured in any other way.”
