Brazil Games Announces First-Ever Brazilian Indie Showcase at gamescom 2026

35 Brazilian indie games to take over the B2C entertainment area in Cologne, showcasing the country’s diverse, innovative and culturally rich game development scene

São Paulo, Brazil – August 24, 2026 – Brazil Games, the export and internationalization program for the Brazilian games industry, a partnership between the Brazilian Game Companies Association (Abragames) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil), will bring the country’s vibrant independent development scene to gamescom 2026 with its first-ever dedicated Brazilian Indie Pavilion in the B2C entertainment area.

Located in Hall 10.2, Stand D045g, the Brazilian Indie Pavilion will showcase 35 games from Brazilian independent studios, giving gamescom’s massive consumer audience—and the European press covering the event—an opportunity to discover the creativity, originality and cultural diversity emerging from Brazil’s game development community.

While Brazil Games has established a strong presence in the B2B area of gamescom, this marks the first time the organization is expanding its participation into the B2C entertainment area with a dedicated exhibition focused on Brazilian indie games.

The showcase brings together games spanning genres and artistic styles, from narrative adventures and action RPGs to strategy, horror, sports, card games and culturally inspired experiences. Together, they offer an international audience a snapshot of the breadth of Brazil’s rapidly growing independent games industry.

Among the highlights are:

  • Sigils of Nightfall (2 Wedges) – A dark roguelike deckbuilder that fuses dungeon crawling with the brutal tabletop RPG aesthetics of Mörk Borg, challenging players to survive an apocalyptic journey through a world on the brink of collapse.
  • ARIDA 2: Rise of the Brave (Aoca Game Lab) – A survival adventure set in Brazil’s 19th-century backlands, where players guide Cícera across the drought-stricken caatinga in a journey deeply rooted in Brazilian history and culture.
  • Magic Rampage (Asantee Games) – A beloved 16-bit-inspired action RPG and platformer featuring challenging combat, deep character progression, and classic dungeon-crawling gameplay that has already built a global fanbase.
  • Ghostless (Coffeenauts) – A distinctive hybrid of 2.5D action-adventure and colony-building inspired by The Terminator and The Thing, combining tense exploration with strategic base management.
  • Heart & Harmony (Fableware) – A story-rich Bardic Mystery RPG where players become a canine bard detective, solving mysteries through music, emotional investigation, and branching narrative choices in a world inherited by animals.
  • Black Sailors (Mandinga Games) – A turn-based naval strategy adventure set in colonial Brazil, where formerly enslaved people become pirates fighting for freedom, offering a fresh historical perspective rarely explored in games.
  • Tupi: The Legend of Arariboia (Mito Games) – A tactical roguelite RPG inspired by Indigenous Brazilian history, featuring recruitable spirits, deep combat synergies, and strategic team-building across each expedition.
  • ZANKOKURYU GETSUDOOM (OTA IMON Studios) – A darkly comedic crisis-management game where keeping a spaceship operational means managing a crew overwhelmed by trauma, anxiety, and existential breakdowns.
  • Magicards (Studio Bravika) – A colorful 3D adventure RPG that combines creature collecting with strategic card-based combat, inviting players to build powerful decks while exploring a vibrant fantasy world.

These titles represent the BG Accelerator initiative, highlighting a new generation of Brazilian studios bringing fresh ideas, distinctive artistic direction, and globally appealing gameplay to the international stage.

gamescom is one of the most important opportunities for Brazilian developers to meet an international audience, and this year we wanted to take that opportunity one step further,” said Patricia Sato, Brazil Games Export Program Executive Manager, Brazil Games. “For the first time, visitors will be able to experience Brazilian games directly in the B2C area, alongside our established B2B presence. The 35 games featured in the Brazilian Indie Pavilion demonstrate just how diverse the Brazilian development scene is—from games deeply connected to our history and culture to completely original worlds and gameplay experiences.”

The Brazilian Indie Pavilion will be open to trade visitors, media and consumers throughout gamescom, providing journalists with an opportunity to discover games, meet Brazilian developers and arrange interviews and hands-on sessions during the show.

Along the way, they will face hundreds of different monster types spread across a variety of biomes, along with powerful bosses that scheme and strike with wills of their own.

Airport Contraband: Prologue Lands on Steam Aug 27. New Hangar and Illness Mechanics

Cleared for Departure: Airport Contraband’s Prologue Lands on Steam August 27

A standalone deep-dive into the morally grey world of Caldora Airport, where every passenger could be smuggling more than a guilty conscience — now with roguelike identities and a first look at the Hangar.

Kraków, Poland – August 24, 2026 – DRAGO entertainment announced that the Prologue for Airport Contraband, its upcoming customs-officer simulator with roguelike elements, arrives free on Steam on August 27, 2026. Building on the earlier demo, the Prologue offers around 50 minutes of open-ended play and expands the game’s scope well beyond the terminal gates.

Players step into the boots of a customs officer at Caldora Airport, inspecting luggage, patting down suspicious travelers, and deciding — case by case — whether to enforce the law or quietly pocket a favor for the cartel. The Prologue introduces the game’s roguelike backbone: officers who cross the wrong people don’t get a second day on the job under the same name. They get a new identity, a fresh set of perks, and a chance to play it straight — or not — all over again.

New to this build is the Hangar, a cargo-inspection area sitting beyond the terminal where contraband hides in crates, false bottoms, and hollowed-out cargo rather than carry-on bags. Officers will also need to start telling a genuine illness from a well-timed excuse, as sick passengers bring symptoms — and complications — the demo never had to deal with.

Highlights of the Prologue include:

  • Passenger Processing: Manage the queues on both sides of the terminal without letting the line, or your patience, get out of hand.
  • Security Screening & Body Searches: Comb through luggage and pat down travelers who are hiding more than they’re letting on.
  • Contraband Seizure: Spot restricted goods and decide what happens to them — and to the person carrying them.
  • The Moral Compass: Play it by the book, or start doing “favours” for the cartel. Both paths are open.
  • Illness Response (New): Read the symptoms — a cough could be nothing, or it could be a lot more than nothing. Illness detection wasn’t part of the demo; it debuts here.
  • The Hangar (New): Take inspections beyond the terminal and into cargo hiding smugglers’ tricks of its own. The Hangar is a brand-new area not featured in the demo.
  • Roguelike Progression: Build up perks across identities that come and go, carrying your choices forward even when your name doesn’t survive the shift.

“The demo showed people what it’s like to work at the checkpoint. In the Prologue, we hand them the keys to almost the entire airport,” said Lucjan Mikociak, Studio Head at DRAGO entertainment. “Between the Hangar, the illnesses, and officers now living and dying by their choices, this is the first time players get to see how far the grey area really goes.”

Airport Contraband: Prologue will be free to play starting August 27, 2026, ahead of the game’s full release. Wishlisting now is the best way to get notified the moment it unlocks.

Expeditions: Samurai – Feedback Was Heard, Updates Are on the Way

Denmark / Vienna, Austria – August 24th, 2026: Expeditions: Samurai launched into Early Access a few weeks ago. While the team is already working on the first major update, we’ve read through the various feedback provided. Thanks to everyone playing the game and taking the time to let us know what could be improved! That’s exactly why we chose the Early Access route: to learn what players would like to see in the game.

We will, for example, increase the party size from 4 characters to 6. You can expect to still bring 4 people to smaller levels such as castles or manors, but most levels will now allow 6 characters. The more, the merrier!

Additionally, your companions will soon be able to use their skills in dialogues, instead of your main character always having the last word (and the first … and everything in between). We will tweak the trade screens, improve the world map UX and the UI, and add a bunch of upgrades to stealth gameplay:

  • Enemies will enter combat more readily when they see you attack their allies.
  • Characters will now stay in sneak mode when executing a stealth takedown.
  • Ranged sneak attacks will get a cooldown.
  • Sneak attacks against aware or alert enemies will not deal bonus damage.

There’s more coming soon, too – check out on what the team is working on here:

  • Rebindable mouse inputs.
  • More character creation options.
  • We have multiple new outfits coming, including a new default outfit for Kage.
  • Kage and Piet have both received face and beard updates to make them look better and match the detail level of other characters.
  • Some weapon models have been scaled down, notably daggers and pistols.
  • We have some VFX changes coming, including better gunsmoke effects for pistols, arquebuses/tanegashima, and the guns of De Albatros.
  • In a similar vein, some of you have noticed that the visual effect that plays when you regain an action point in combat was the level-up VFX from Rome. That was a placeholder! We’ll be re-implementing that VFX as a level-up effect and adding a new, subtler effect for regaining an AP.

Players can join the adventure in Early Access for $29.99 / €29.99 right now!
