Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six® Siege Reveals the Second Season of Year 6: North Star

Rainbow Six Siege welcomes Thunderbird, an Operator from the Nakoda First Nation, among many other updates

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA — May 24, 2021 — Today, Ubisoft® revealed the second season of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six® Siege Year 6: North Star and its new indigenous Operator, Thunderbird, coming from the Nakoda nation, a North American First Nation, in addition to an entirely reworked Favela map, and more.

In North Star, players will discover a brand-new Defender: Thunderbird. She deploys Kóna Healing Stations, which heal any player – ally or enemy – as long as they are within close proximity to this device, even if they are downed, and has a short cooldown between each charge. Thunderbird is a low armor, high-speed operator, equipped with the SPEAR .308 or SPAS-15 as primary weapon, and BEARING 9 or Q-929 as a secondary weapon.

In addition, North Star introduces a reimagined Favela map with reworked rooms, better map overview and improved navigation. These changes will improve readability, making sure players always know where they are and where they are going when playing on Favela.

On the Test Servers, two new features will be trailed this season: a revamped armour system and activities after death. Players’ armour will be converted to additional health so they have better visibility on their armour’s impact. Additionally, players will have new activities after death, with Attackers being able to control their own drones while some Defenders will be able to use their gadgets after their death (including Maestro, Echo or Mozzie). These changes will have a strong impact on gameplay and need to be tested to get players’ feedback. They will be available on the Test Server only and will not release on live servers at North Star launch.

Additional updates coming with North Star include:

  • Scoreboard 2.0
  • New corpse icons
  • Bullet holes fix
  • Operator balancing (Melusi, Mira, and Maestro tweaks and Gas Propagation rework)

The Test Server for North Star will go live on May 25. The Test Server is an alternative version of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, allowing players to test upcoming gameplay features that will make their way into the main game itself. Since this is a testing environment, a consistent gameplay experience is not guaranteed on the Test Server. Players are invited to submit the issues they encounter on the Test Server on the R6 Fix platform here.

Paradox Finally Announces Victoria 3 at PdxCon Remixed

Shape A Grand Tomorrow In Victoria 3

Paradox Reveals Grand Strategy Sequel at PDXCON Remixed

STOCKHOLM – 21 May 2021 – The railroad and the telegraph. Steamships and the birth of flight. Mass conscription, emancipation and the campaign for women’s rights. The Victorian Age saw a world transformed by new technology, new philosophies and new ways of doing politics. This tumultuous century springs to new life in Victoria 3, a grand strategy game from Paradox Development Studio.

After years of community requests and curiosity about the future of one of the company’s iconic games, Victoria 3 is instantly one of the most highly anticipated grand strategy games in Paradox’s history. Victoria 3 is a society simulator set in a time of great change. Track the needs and desires of national populations, each group with its own political and material preferences. Conservative factions may resist political reform as growing numbers of tradespeople and intellectuals push for a greater say in how the nation is run. Trade a wide range of goods on a global scale to make sure that needs are met at home, because if people are hungry and disenfranchised, revolution beckons.

Victoria 3 will feature:

  • Deep Societal Simulation: Cultural, economic and ideological divisions compete for power and resources in one of Paradox’s most detailed historical worlds.
  • Tend Your National Garden: Nurture your population, educating it and preparing it for the future, guaranteeing their prosperity and improving their happiness.
  • Wonders of the Industrial Age: Scientific and social progress give you the chance to improve the lives of your citizens.
  • Sophisticated Economic System: Import goods to keep costs low, export goods to enrich your citizens, and then tax that wealth to advance your plans.
  • Challenging Diplomacy: Maintain harmonious relations with your neighbors or provoke a crisis to grab valuable resources or force open new markets.
  • Political Dealmaking: Manage competing interests in your government, opening up new reforms but risking revolution if key voices are not heard.
  • Detailed and Living World: Cities grow and factories darken the landscape on a beautifully drawn map of the 19th century globe. Play any of dozens of nations from 183 and try to claim your place in the sun.

Victoria 3  will be available on Steam, Microsoft Game Pass and the Paradox Store.

  • New Constructions: Construct glorious new projects for your empire like the Juggernaut, a massive mobile starbase that provides a moveable repair base even in enemy territory, or the Mega Shipyard, a new megastructure that can churn out fleets with incredible speed. Offering both tactical advantages and a good dose of shock and/or awe, these are sure to be an asset to any space empire.

The expansion pass will also include the following additions later this year:

  • Ancient Relics Story Pack: Uncover the ruins of long-dead civilizations in Relic Worlds to piece together the story of their rise and eventual downfall. Excavate their derelict cities and ships to unearth the truth, discover powerful relics and harness them for your own empire’s ambitions.

The Second Chances expansion will launch first for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 on June 16, and will arrive later for Nintendo Switch on June 29.

We strived to make their implementation in Prison Architect feel authentic while maintaining the signature style players have come to expect from the game.”

Prison Architect: Second Chances Key Features:

  • Return to Reform: Non-work programs, such as Animal Therapy, Meet & Greet, and Former Prisoner Classes can remove an inmate’s negative traits and see improved behaviors.

Make It Count Expansion Coming to Empire of Sin in 2021

Empire of Sin’s first paid DLC will launch later this year alongside the Precinct update

STOCKHOLM — May 21, 2021 — Paradox Interactive and Romero Games announced during today’s PDXCON showcase that Empire of Sin will receive its first paid expansion later this year, titled Make It Count. The expansion will introduce a new boss, Meyer “the Accountant” Lansky, new gangsters, “the Fixers,” and their Loan Sharking Racket. This is the first major content expansion for Empire of Sin since its launch last year, and builds upon the base game to offer additional content and gameplay options for players.

Make It Count Key Features

  • Meyer Lansky – Play as the “Mob’s Accountant,” a boss that excels at economics and creates synergy in combat. He uses his smooth talking to “make peace” with money and connections.
  • “The Fixers” – Five gangsters are up for hire, bringing their loan sharking Racket and combat abilities. This Racket unlocks Blackmail over other characters and factions.
  • A string of missions that tell the story of Lansky and the Fixers, unlocking game features like Loan Sharking, and introduce Lansky’s mentor, Arnold Rothstein.
  • New rackets, new abilities, new gangsters and new missions – more details to come!

“After all the work we put into patching the game in the past few months, we’re ready to explore new aspects of the game to give players more content to sink their teeth into.” said Brenda Romero, Co-Founder, Romero Games. “Make it Count, alongside the free Precinct update, brings new ways for players to play, manage and win as they build up their own Empire of Sin!”

Make It Count will launch on PC, PlayStation4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch later this year alongside the Precinct update, which introduces a Precinct management layer across neighborhoods, adds a new win-mechanic, and introduces mod support with mods available to play at launch.
