Maine, United States – 1st July, 2021. Indie developer DIRIGO Games is thrilled to announce KINGDOM of the DEAD, an action packed new horror themed First Person Shooter coming to PC via Steam in early 2022.

KINGDOM of the DEAD blends old school FPS action with unique black and white pen and ink style visuals to create a terrifying gameplay world where players wage war in a deadly battle against Death’s ever growing army.

East Coast America, 19th Century.

Even now, he stages a covert invasion as he masses his monsters in the shadows of the city. As they prepare to rise up from hell and break through from the deepest wells, pits and crypts, only you, Agent Chamberlain, can find their exits and stop the spawn from entering your world.

  • Unique black & white, hand drawn visuals.
  • Classic FPS gameplay with different objectives at each difficulty level.
  • Hunt the undead hordes across remote locations along the US East Coast.

‘90s Apogee Classic ‘Secret Agent’ Gets Surprise Remastered PC Release, Out Now

‘90s Apogee Classic ‘Secret Agent’ Gets Surprise Remastered PC Release, Out Now

Featuring new story content nearly 30 years in the making

DALLAS — 30 June 2021 — Secret Agent HD, a remaster of the revered ‘90s puzzle-platformer, launches today on Steam and GOG.com with a surprise reveal from industry pioneers Apogee Entertainment with support from Emberheart Games. This definitive release for PC and Linux boasts an arsenal of new features, a level editor with Steam Workshop support, and a new episode with 16 never-before-played missions.

Yes, Apogee is releasing new story content for a 30-year-old game.

Out today, Secret Agent HD remasters the original three episodes of Secret Agent for modern resolutions and marks the world premiere of Secret Agent Episode 4, a brand-new collection of missions starring Agent 006.

Some of you weren’t yet born when Secret Agent graced floppy disk drives, so let’s rewind.

One of the earliest releases from Apogee Software, the original indie game publisher of beloved titles like Max Payne, Duke Nukem, Commander Keen, and Prey, Secret Agent cast players as Agent 006, a wholly original spy with a penchant for saving the world. In this 2D adventure, 006 must prevent a global catastrophe by parachuting into a high-security island to retrieve top-secret superweapon plans from the Diabolical Villain Society (DVS). At every turn, 006 must avoid perilous traps, sleuth his way through dastardly puzzles, and sneak past the DVS.

Like Commander Keen and Kingdom of Kroz before it, Secret Agent and its three installmentshelped pioneer episodic video game releases. But games have come so far since 1992. You can now play a whole game in one package!

Today, Secret Agent HD offers updated visuals across all three original episodes, a brand-new original soundtrack, and 16 never-before-played missions in Secret Agent Episode 4, exclusive to this remaster. Challenge friends with custom levels using the built-in level editor and Steam Workshop integration. Claim retro street cred with full leaderboard support. Hear a brand-new original soundtrack, test your mettle against seven new enemies, find a new secret level, wield fresh power-ups, and more.

“The new Apogee Entertainment is focused on helping today’s developers reach new audiences with their unbelievable talent, but we’re fans of the classics too,” said Scott Miller, Apogee founder and industry legend. “The ‘90s will never die—we’ve got new missions 30 years in the making to prove it!”

Secret Agent HD stealth-drops onto Steam and GOG.com for PC and Linux today. To see what Apogee’s up to next, follow the legendary studio on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Discord, and get weekly updates from the Duke himself.

About Apogee Entertainment

Apogee Software’s pioneering journey began in 1987, when Scott Miller decided to split his new game, Kingdom of Kroz, into three episodes, with the first episode available as free shareware. The “Apogee model” of distribution revolutionized PC gaming at the time and catapulted Apogee Software to global renown. As an indie publisher, Apogee (and it’s later incarnation, 3D Realms) would introduce the world to id Software, Remedy Entertainment, Parallax Software, and other video game superstars in the making. As a developer, Apogee would innovate and inspire in equal measure, creating treasured characters and franchises like Duke Nukem, Shadow Warrior, and Prey en route to earning over a billion dollars in commercial revenue.

The new Apogee Entertainment, with founder Scott Miller and longtime partner Terry Nagy at the helm, will empower today’s incredibly talented indie developers, paving the way for their global success with innovative ideas, cutting-edge marketing, and the same fearlessness that changed the industry.
