Physical boxed edition of the acclaimed horror game available now across Europe and Australia

Madrid, Spain – 30th July 2021. Meridiem Games is thrilled to announce that the boxed Deluxe Edition of acclaimed horror game Song of Horror is now available across European and Australian specialist stores. The boxed Deluxe Edition is manufactured and distributed by Meridiem Games.

Developed by Protocol Games and published by Raiser Games, Song of Horror pays homage to the classics of the survival horror genre, offering a third-person horror adventure with fixed cameras. Help its protagonist, Daniel Noyer, solve the mysterious disappearance of the famous writer Sebastian P. Husher

A must have for any horror fans and collectors of special editions, the Song of Horror boxed Deluxe Edition will include a special artwork sleeve with the iconic illustration of The Presence, a map where players can note clues they find during the game and a character guide, explaining their abilities and relationship to the story for all 13 playable characters.

About Song of Horror

Song of Horror is a cinematic third-person horror adventure focusing on a terrifying narrative inspired by the literary works of Poe, Lovecraft and M.R. James.

Famed writer Sebastian P. Husher has gone missing, along with his entire family. His editor, worried by the loss of contact, sends an assistant to Husher’s home to check on his well-being. He never returns. These disappearances spark a series of terrifying events, revealing a dark entity known only as The Presence that seems to be at the centre of the horror that unfolds.

Check out the release trailer for the Song of Horror Deluxe Edition here

Features

  • Song of Horror offers a truly dynamic terror experience: its antagonist, the supernatural entity known only as The Presence, is controlled by an advanced AI (Artificial Intelligence) that adapts to your actions and decisions.
  • Experience unbearable fear as this otherworldly being responds to your way of playing and hunts you down in unexpected ways, offering a unique experience to every player and gameplay where tension builds up naturally instead of coming from scripted sequences.
  • As a player, you will live this story through the eyes of a varied set of characters related to the story in their own way. Every character is different, and brings their unique point of view to the investigation, allowing them to approach clues and items differently.
  • Their actions and decisions will shape the world: some of them will know more or less of certain aspects of the story; some will be more effective against supernatural manifestations, but all of them can die if the Presence gets to them – and death is permanent. If they die, you will have to pick the story up with another one, and continue the investigation so their deaths are not in vain.
  • A mysterious antique shop, a forgotten abbey, an abandoned mental hospital… Each location in Song of Horror is inspired by the classics of the genre. Explore and investigate these haunted places to gather clues and items that will help you solve challenging puzzles while enduring the agonizing tension of the game’s atmosphere.

The boxed Deluxe Edition of Song of Horror is available now across European and Australian specialist stores for PlayStation 4. For more information, please visit www.meridiem-games.com/en

RiMS Racing reveals technical details in dev diaries series

RiMS Racing: go behind the scenes of the game’s development with the first two video documentaries

Lesquin,  France, July 29, 2021 – NACON and RaceWard Studio are pleased to take you behind the scenes of the development for RiMS Racing, a unique motorcycling simulator concept releasing on 19 August on PlayStation®4, PlayStation®5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch™ and PC.

In a series of video documentaries, the creative teams are revealing some of the secrets of the game’s production process. This includes the work done on the KT Engine’s physics engine to create the best simulation possible, the mechanical accuracy of every motorbike, the different game modes, the ambient sounds, innovative features like the Motorbike Status Check – which offers a real-time view of the condition of the bike’s parts – and the extensive customisation options for motorbikes and riders.

The first developer diary video looks at all the various stages of the game’s development, starting with the design and research the teams did to create the most realistic motorcycle simulator possible. Accompanied by Art Director Mauro Ferrari, Game Designer Alessandro Carullo and Executive Producer Sergio Rocco, Marco Ponte – CEO of RaceWard Studio and the game’s Creative Director – explains the importance of the technical details to the game’s design and how it offers players the maximum immersion possible. The episode also highlights the studio’s invaluable collaboration with manufacturers such as Ducati and takes a look at the history of Ducati and the realism offered by RiMS Racing with Ducati’s official test rider, Alessandro Valia.

Watch the first RiMS Racing dev diary video

In the second video, the development team focuses on the various game modes, especially Career mode, as well as the different circuits and roads recreated in the game. Alongside Giulio Panzani and Stefano Raddrizzani from the research department of Politecnico di Milano, Game Designer Alessandro Carullo looks at the physics model developed to perfectly simulate tyre wear during races. Players are always seeking maximum performance, which is also central to game development at RaceWard, which has called on experts such as Lorenzo Mauri, a specialist in motorbike mechanics and consultant on the game.

Making RiMS Racing – Docu #2: Performance

By making mechanics a central part of the game, RiMS Racing provides players with a unique simulation experience and puts their engineering and riding skills to the test. Using an innovative mechanics management system, you can optimise every part of your bike down to the smallest component. With RiMS Racing, the Italian studio RaceWard is pushing the limits of realism and customisation. This is possible thanks to the game’s KT Engine developed by KT Racing specifically for motorsport games.

Over a career that includes over 70 events per season, or during the many challenges available in multiplayer, RiMS Racing promises complete immersion in the competitive world of motorcycling, where victory depends as much on your riding skills as on the motorcycle itself.

Look out for a new RiMS Racing development diary video from RaceWard and NACON each Thursday at 3pm CEST.

RiMS Racing will be available on August 19, 2021 on PlayStation®4, PlayStation®5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC and on Nintendo Switch™.

First-Person Brawler Graduates From Early Access After Six Years, Hundreds of Thousands of Fighters

QUEENSLAND, Australia – July 29, 2021 – Paint the Town Red, the first-person brawler with sandbox combat levels and a massive roguelike mode from South East Games, wreaks havoc today on Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, in addition to the long-awaited debut of version 1.0 on Steam for Windows PC, Mac, and Linux, after a bombastic Early Access stint where more than 400,000 fighters brought the pain.

Smash foes in lightning-quick, gore-filled first-person melee action where anything and everything is a weapon. Engage in simple bare-knuckle brawling with fists or club opponents upside the head with improvised implements like pool cues, beer bottles, or a giant ham leg. Deal even more damage with more conventional weapons like blades and guns, or magical abilities like bolts of holy energy and arcane fire spells.

Beneath, the roguelike RPG experience introduced midway through Early Access, features character classes like the Warlock, who wields fiery sorcery to make the undead extra-dead, and the Brawler, a powerhouse capable of going berserk and turning their skin to stone. Foray into the underground ruins and caverns full of undead hordes and other monstrous entities commanded by the four Elder Gods, finding new things with each run.

Enjoy neverending chaos in Scenarios, themed sandbox arenas including a rowdy Biker Bar and dangerous Pirate’s Cove, where no enemy can be left standing. If it’s glory aspiring combatants seek, Arena mode features endless brawls and challenges involving the game’s huge variety of enemies and weapons. Extensive customization allows for zero gravity brawling, enhancing fists with a shocking touch, an authorized SUPERHOT modifier, and more.

Go even further with the customization craze on PC as a built-in level editor and full Steam Workshop support makes the sky the limit. Texture packs, music packs, and custom levels make up just some of the more than 9,000 items to tinker with. Additionally, PC players are privy to an exclusive online co-op mode, letting up to four fightin’ friends get up to some good ol’ fashioned fist-fights in Scenarios or team up and face the horrors of Beneath together.

“It’s felt like a lifetime since we first uploaded the game jam version of Paint the Town Red, and here we are with something that grew into a massive experience,” said Matthew Carr, South East Games, co-founder. “From the fun and challenge of the Scenarios to the terror awaiting them in Beneath, we’re proud to have delivered on the enormous game we set out to create for our PC players and to now welcome a new legion of brawlers with our console release.”

Paint the Town Red is available now on Steam for Windows PC, Mac, and Linux, as well as PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch for $19.99. Paint the Town Red supports English audio and interface, with interface support for French, Italian, German, Spanish, Arabic, Bulgarian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, Greek, Hungarian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Portuguese (Brazil), Romanian, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Swedish, Thai, Traditional Chinese, Turkish, and Ukrainian.

KONGREGATE ANNOUNCES NEW WEB GAMING PORTAL, KONGREGATE.io

San Diego (July 29 2021) – Kongregate, a leading developer of mobile free-to-play games and creator of the web-based gaming portal Kongregate.com, today announced KONGREGATE.io, a next generation web gaming portal featuring a curated selection of the best competitive games on the market.

Launching in open beta later this year, KONGREGATE.io is a celebration of Kongregate’s 15 years in the gaming space and redefines what a web gaming platform is for today’s market. Kongregate’s goal is to build a selection of the best competitive and .io style games the market has to offer, all in one place. Early launch titles will be focused on Kongregate’s internally developed portfolio, sister company offerings through larger parent company MTG (Modern Times Group), and select top titles from Kongregate.com.

“Fifteen years ago, Kongregate embarked on a journey to build a safe place for everyone to share their passion for games on Kongregate.com. It’s exciting to be able to expand on that mission with a redefined approach on KONGREGATE.io,” said Markus Lipp, CEO & CFO at Kongregate. “KONGREGATE.io will provide players with an enhanced user experience, what they’ve come to expect from a triple AAA gaming company, and that will incorporate cutting-edge gaming technology. We see KONGREGATE.io as the next-generation of web-based gaming.”

To kick off the celebration, Kongregate just launched a limited Founders NFT (non-fungible token) presale on KONGREGATE.io that commemorates the most pivotal titles in their portfolio. These NFTs give Kongregate’s most loyal and devoted fans a way to own a piece of Kongregate’s rich 15 year history, and unlock new experiences that transcend the individual games themselves. Currently players can purchase NFTs for Kongregate.com’s hit dungeon crawler Bit Heroes and the more recently acquired 2D battle royale game, surviv.io. Future Founders presale NFTs will feature early fantasy CCG Spellstone and other Kongregate developed titles.

“We see NFTs as more than just collectibles,” said Max Murphy, VP of Engineering at Kongregate and KONGREGATE.io visionary. “We’ve been exploring the technology behind the scenes over the last two years to understand how best to use it to benefit our massive community. Now we’re ready to take things to the next level with KONGREGATE.io.”

“And the best part for our long-time players is that we’ll be converting Kongregate.com  ‘Kongpanions’ and stickers to NFTs when the site launches in open beta later this year,” continued Murphy. “So anyone that has collected those achievements on Kongregate.com will have them automatically on KONGREGATE.io if they connect their accounts.”

KONGREGATE.io’s Founders presale is available now and is powered by Forte’s end-to-end blockchain platform which enables game developers to easily build and scale token-based economies safely, securely, and with full regulatory compliance. Each NFT is limited, provides special in-game rewards, and will only be available once. Dedicated players can start collecting today at www.kongregate.io.
