Vilnius, Lithuania – 12 August 2021 – Perelesoq and Nordcurrent are honoured to announce that their poignant war story Torn Away will release on Steam this Winter. Set in WW2, the game is inspired by the diaries of children, written during the war, and uses various gameplay mechanics to create an immersively moving experience that chronicles the hardships of Europe in the 1940s and allows the player to explore a familiar setting in a new light.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=big_285sY5w

Torn Away combines a variety of genres while exploring the tale of Asya, a lost orphan who escaped from a forced labour camp and has to cross the wintry wilderness of Germany and Poland to make her way back home. You will have to persevere through the harsh elements of nature, solving puzzles and engaging in a variety of different types of gameplay to hide from soldiers, look for shelter and food and survive to see your home once again.

The Magister – release dates confirmed for murder-mystery card battler

Nerdook’s whodunnit adventure coming to PC, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One in September

12 August, 2021 – Indie publisher Digerati is happy to confirm the release dates for The Magister. The murder-mystery card battler will launch September 2nd on Steam and Nintendo Switch, and September 3rd for Xbox One.

The latest game from developer Nerdook (Monster Slayers, Vertical Drop Heroes, Reverse Crawl), The Magister puts players in the role of a Magister – agents assigned to enforce the rule of law in the far-flung provinces of the Empire – who is dispatched to the remote village of Silverhurst to investigate a murder.

Players will be able to sample The Magister ahead of its release courtesy of The Magister: The First Two Days. As the name suggests, it will include the first two days of the randomly-generated whodunnit adventure (the full game takes place over 14 days). An exact release date is still to be confirmed for The Magister: The First Two Days, but it will be available to download from Steam for free sometime before September 2nd.

The Magister release date trailer:

About the game

The Magister is a murder-mystery card-battler RPG. Build and customise your deck to fight in battles, or use ‘Tactical Diplomacy’ to pacify those who stand in your way. Gather clues and discover motives as you investigate the death of your predecessor and unmask the guilty culprit.

Key features

  • Randomly generated murder-mystery: A walkthrough won’t help here! The events, clues, motives, and murderer change with every playthrough. Only YOU can identify the guilty suspect.
  • Tactical card-based encounters: Your combat and negotiation skills are determined by the cards in your deck. Use a vast array of cards, such as ‘Heartstopper’, ‘Poison Slash’, ‘Weak Joke’, and ‘Long Talk’.
  • Pacify enemies for a peaceful outcome: Use ‘Tactical Diplomacy’ as an alternative to fighting and calm foes with your conversation cards to reduce their Rage level to 0.
  • Choose your Magister: Different Magisters come with their own specialities and flaws. From cunning alcoholic to intelligent insomniac – every variation defines a different adventure.
  • Recruit a human ally or furry companion: If needed, a Mercenary, Spy, or Sage can be recruited to assist in your investigation. You can also befriend one of the local cats or dogs to fight by your side in battles.

Set in a captivating fantasy world: You have 14 days to wander Silverhurst and befriend or intimidate its inhabitants as you race against time to unmask the murderer.

Thursday, 12th August 2021 – Team17 and Unicube Studios have today announced resource management survival game Sheltered 2 will be launching on Steam on 21st September. Placing players into a post-apocalyptic landscape Sheltered 2 tasks players with surviving the horrors that await at the end of the world. Top tips for staying alive in the wasteland:

As the fight to survive is tested by internal and external threats, players will create and build up their own faction and base, manage resources and meet survivor needs.  Sheltered 2’s factions system in is instrumental to a campaign’s success; relationships can be forged between factions, giving players the option to trade and work together, with both sides thriving from the association. Alternatively, bitter rivalries can be ignited, potentially leading to catastrophic effects and ushering in an untimely end to the faction leader and their base.

Sheltered 2 Key Features:

  • Factions: The factions system allows players to forge relationships with other groups to provide their base with resources and support, or they can grab their weapons and take things the old-fashioned way
  • Resource Management: Players will balance the needs and wants of their survivors, manage scarce resources, craft items needed to maintain the shelter, cook meals, and build equipment to keep their group alive, and with the expanded power system players can generate energy in new ways
  • Faction Leader: New for Sheltered 2, the faction leader is the most important member of a shelter, boasting their own unique and powerful traits, the faction leader will be pivotal to success, with their death meaning game over
  • An Unforgiving Wasteland: Starvation, asphyxiation, extreme temperatures, and combat are just some of the challenges players will face in the harsh wasteland
  • Combat: In Sheltered 2 players will use a variety of skills coupled with the ability to build parties of four and targeting specific body parts on their enemies to deal the most visceral damage in combat situations. Each action performed also has a stamina cost, so strategy will be at the forefront of every altercation, each move critical in the balance of life and death
  • Characters: Survivors have their own personalities, traits, desires, and skills to acquire, and the ability to customise each individually means every faction member is unique.
