RHELL: WARPED WORLDS AND TROUBLED TIMES EXPANDS SPELL CASTING WITH OVER 102 MILLION COMBINATIONS

Deep Dive Series Continues Built on Experimentation and Player Freedom Game Confirmed for London Games Festival 2026

Bristol, UK – February 12, 2026 – Yogscast Games is thrilled to share more details on Rhell: Warped Words & Troubled Times, ahead of its March 12, 2026, release. Following our first deep dive into the mystical adventure that awaits players, the team now explores another core game feature: spell casting.

In Rhell: Warped Worlds & Troubled Times, players must solve puzzles by casting spells made up of “runes” or magical keywords. Rather than offering a predetermined list of spells, the game allows players to experiment with magic. With over 40 unique runes and 102 million possible combinations, creativity is encouraged, making the act of casting spells a discovery instead of execution.

For instance, here are a few of the weird and wonderful combinations on offer. Players can combine ice and smoke to create snow and can cast this spell on Rhell to make her a snowball and roll around, picking up more snow and growing larger as you roll. Also, you can rewind, slow down, or speed up time. Interestingly, if you try to slow down and speedup time in the same spell you’ll end up pausing time completely!  You can cast a stream of red hot fire magic into a river and transform it completely into lava and much more.

The spell system is designed to intrigue, excite, and surprise players. Spellcasting feels like problem-solving, as runes function as keywords. Each rune has distinct properties and can be combined in unique ways making play feel more intentional and personal. “It is possible that the most exciting spells you cast in Rhell are the ones you stumble upon, and potentially ones we’ve not even discovered,” says game creator Alice Jarratt from SlugGlove. “The system is built to reward experimentation and creativity rather than forcing players to memorise spell formulae.”

Yogscast Games is also proud to announce that Rhell has been selected as one of the indie titles to feature at this year’s London Games Festival. Running Monday April 13 through Sunday April 19, developers SlugGlove will be on site to take players through Rhell’s charming and epic adventure.

Developed by SlugGlove, Rhell will be released on Steam on March 12 2026. Keep up-to-date with the latest news and information, visit the Yogscast Games website.

Enter the Nightmare. Vespera BononiaArrives on PC March 13

A dark fantasy action-roguelite set in a haunted reimagining of medieval Bologna.

Bologna, Italy – February 12, 2026. Indie developer Power Up Team has announced that Vespera Bononia, its dark fantasy action-roguelite, will launch on PC via Steam on March 13, 2026. A brand-new release date trailer, unveiled today, offers a deeper look at the game’s frenetic combat, arcane abilities, and nightmarish vision of a city consumed by cosmic horror. Fans can Wishlist the game now.

Set in a twisted, gothic reimagining of medieval Bologna, Vespera Bononia is a third-person action game that blends magical combat and projectiles with bullet-hell-inspired encounters into fast-paced, ever-shifting runs. Players can switch classes mid-combat, wield powerful spell synergies, and adapt on the fly as the city reshapes itself with every attempt to survive its cursed streets.

Alongside the announcement, an updated, free demo is now available on Steam, giving players a substantial taste of the experience ahead. The demo offers intense combat encounters, grotesque enemies and elite threats, early relics and synergies, and a first look at the game’s soul-catalyst system, where your class and abilities evolve dynamically based on your choices. This is a brutal introduction to the game’s core loop of risk, experimentation, and mastery.

A City Reborn in Shadow

More than a fantasy setting, Vespera Bononia is a dark digital twin of Bologna itself. It draws inspiration from real-world architectural scans and references, reworked to transform historic landmarks, from basilicas and towers to cloisters and underground catacombs, into surreal, haunted spaces steeped in arcane mystery. The result is a city that feels authentic, unsettling, and constantly on the brink of collapse.

Fast, Fluid, and Unforgiving

Combat is designed to be aggressive and reactive, demanding precise movement, well-timed dodges, and mastery of evolving magical builds. With a roguelite structure, a soulslike edge, and a shared soul across four distinct characters, no two runs play the same, and every death reshapes the path forward.

Key Features

  • Frenetic third-person combat blending magic, shooting, and bullet hell.
  • A shared soul across four playable characters, switchable at any time.
  • Survive arcane shifting dungeons beneath the city.
  • Deep build customization through relics, effigies, and evolving powers.
  • Four distinct biomes filled with unique enemies and bosses.

The nightmare begins soon. Wishlist Vespera Bononia on Steam now, download the free demo, and prepare to descend into the cursed streets of Bononia when the game launches on March 13, 2026.

Try the demo for weapon-building metroidvania Clockwork Ambrosia

Metal Slug meets Borderlands in this side-scrolling steampunk “search action” adventure!

Austin, Texas – February 12th, 2025 – Indie game developer Realmsoft, in partnership with OI Games, has unleashed a new demo for their upcoming weapon-customizing metroidvania Clockwork Ambrosia ahead of its launch this April on Steam.

14 years in the making, Clockwork Ambrosia (previously known as “Ambrosia”) is a 2D metroidvania with an emphasis on building your own weapons. Part Metal Slug, part Borderlands, and all metroidvania, Clockwork Ambrosia is a steampunk fusion of classic 2D “search action” adventures with more modern modification options. Rig up endless combinations of powers from screen-filling shot splitters, to devastating missile strikes, to armor-piercing sniper rounds. There are countless ways to tailor your kit!

Players are placed in the boots of Iris, an itinerant airship engineer trying to escape the island  of Aspida after a near-miss airship crash. Our plucky heroine soon finds herself caught up in a mystery spawning eons when the island’s populace disappears, seemingly replaced by deadly robots and monsters. It’s up to her to uncover the truth of what befell the island’s populace and restore the land to its former glory.

Exploration and discovery drive the world of Clockwork Ambrosia. Brilliant pixel art takes players above the clouds to the steampunk wonders of a sky city, through the lush and gorgeous mushroom forest, and down below to the moody underbelly of the sunken kingdoms. Aspida holds many secrets and undiscovered biomes, but Isis won’t work alone, as she’ll meet a cast of eccentric characters ranging from benevolent rogue AI companions to bumbling mushroom folk.

“We’re big fans of Super Metroid, but one aspect of that seminal classic we felt could be improved upon is its weapon-building,” said Nathan Hiemenz, Founder and Developer at Realmsoft. “In Super Metroid the weapon modifications are additive and unlocked in a linear progression, stacking on top of each other. Once you get an upgrade there’s no reason not to use it. We wanted to let players mix and match their weapon mods, as they have different advantages and disadvantages based on the scenario and player preference. Clockwork Ambrosia offers massive room for experimentation as you kit your character for a wide variety of challenges. This demo only scratches the surface of this, but it teases the core mechanics and tone of Clockwork Ambrosia, whetting players appetites ahead of its April launch.”

Clockwork Ambrosia features:

  • Side-scrolling action platformer with an authored, interconnected world to explore
  • Six vastly different weapons, each offering unique mechanics
  • 150+ modifications for simple and intuitive weapon-customization, offering endless experimentation
  • Snappy crafting system lets players unlock new powers and abilities at their own pace
  • Beautiful hand-drawn art bringing the world and characters to life
  • Original score composed by Johnny Stixx
  • A story of mystery, friends, robots, and at least one mysterious robot friend!

Play the demo for creature catching survival game Guardians of the Wild Sky during Steam Next Fest

Build your own airship and amass creature companions as you venture through the untamed skies!

Toronto, Canada – February 12th, 2026 – Indie developer Blue Isle Studios (Valley, Leap, Citadel: Forged With Fire) are launching the gameplay demo for their upcoming survival and crafting game Guardians of the Wild Sky during steam Next Fest February 23rd-March 2nd. Due later this year on Steam Early Access, Guardians of the Wild Sky lets you tame a wilderness of floating isles and majestic creatures alone or with friends as you take to the skies in your custom built airship. To commemorate the new demo, Blue Isle has dropped a new trailer showcasing the wonders that await in the full game.

Guardians of the Wild Sky puts players in a world of wonder, full of magical creature companions called Guardians. Collecting these mythic animals allows you to call on them to help you build bases, fight alongside you, allow you to transform into them, and man your airship. You can even crossbreed Guardians, combining their traits into something new to suit your playstyle. By feeding, grooming and caring for your Guardians, you can forge loyal companions to accompany you on your journeys.

Creativity is key to surviving this wilderness of floating isles, as you’ll have to forge your own bases and airships to traverse the skies. Create anything you can imagine, from cozy cottages to flying castles to mighty warships to make the heavens roar. If you can dream it, you can build it!

Explore a living, breathing world full of dungeons, caves, floating islands, and buried treasure. Tackle optional challenges like infiltrating cultist bases or defeating massive Titan and Eternal beasts for greater rewards. Or chill out and relax with some cooking, farming and fishing (even in clouds!). Whether you’re an intrepid explorer or a cozy homesteader, Guardians of the Wild Sky offers an expansive world full of wonder.

“We’re excited for players to finally get their hands on Guardians of the Wild Sky’s demo and hear feedback on what they think of it,” said Alex Tintor, founder of Blue Isles Studios. “It’s by far our most ambitious game yet, offering co-op adventure, a long journey, or a cozy farming game, depending on your playstyle. It’s extremely feature-rich, so we’re very curious what aspects of it will resonate most with our audience and will continue to develop it through Early Access and beyond based on player feedback.”
