First In-depth Gameplay Reveal for Hotly Anticipated Survival Game SMALLAND Plus Developer Gameplay Sessions for Monster Harvest and Deathrun TV

September 3rd, Manchester UK – Merge Games revealed today that it will host an hour-long live streamed session of in-depth gameplay as part of PAX West on Saturday September 4th. The session will feature narrated developer sessions for the recently released monster-collecting farming sim Monster Harvest, ultra-fast and violent twin stick shooter Deathrun TV and the first in-depth gameplay reveal of upcoming survival game SMALLAND.

In SMALLAND, players experience the familiar world from an unusual perspective as they play as one of the ‘Smallfolk’, a race of tiny creatures who have lived underground for millennia and are returning to reclaim the surface world once again. 

In this PvE-focussed multiplayer survival game, gamers will find themselves at the bottom of the food chain and must work together to explore a whole new world – crafting, building and fighting for survival against the elements and a host of deadly creatures including wasps, spiders and cockroaches. Players can tame and ride creatures, build sprawling encampments in giant trees and craft powerful armour sets as they forge their legacy. 

Monster Harvest invites players to start a new life in the curious town of Planimal Point, where plants can be mutated into creatures who will follow them into battle! Blending farming with monster collecting, Monster Harvest offers a unique twist on the life sim formula and is available to buy now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.

In this developer session, Kerry Vandenberg from Maple Powered Games plays Monster Harvest and discusses the team’s inspirations and plans for this quirky, unique pixel art game.

In the Deathrun TV session, developers Laser Dog discuss their frantic, gore-filled twin-stick roguelite set in a future where likes are everything and contestants take part in the world’s deadliest game show for fame and glory. 

With breakneck speed, bullet dodging action and lots of guns, you’ll have to survive swarms of rabid mutants to progress and level up your contestant. Twin-stick bullet hell action will test your reflexes through each arena.

Getting those precious likes and levelling up your likability will be rewarded with an ever-changing roster or mutations to choose from including exploding bodies and big heads. Put it all on the line for the (rogue)likes. And remember, the run is all that matters.

The 2021 Promo Relegations to take place in late November

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA — September 3, 2021 — Today, Ubisoft^® announced the final stage of the Rainbow 6 Siege Oceanic Nationals 2021 Season will commence on September 10^th, taking place over seven playdays across four weeks. Additionally, Ubisoft announced details of the Promo Relegations taking place in November to determine next year’s participants in the 2022 season.

The full schedule for Stage 3 is as follows:

• Playday 1: Friday, Sept 10
• Playday 2: Saturday, Sept 11
• Playday 3: Friday, Sept 17
• Playday 4: Saturday, Sept 18
• Playday 5: Friday, Sept 24
• Playday 6: Saturday, Sept 25
• Playday 7: Saturday, Oct 2

At end of Stage 2, the Chiefs were once again crowned Stage champions after defeating Team Bliss in the Grand Final. They were awarded 25 season points, and $7000 of the $25,000 prize pool. Going into the final stage, this places the Chiefs at the top of the season leaderboard, with Knights in second and Team Bliss in third. The conclusion of Stage 3 will determine which teams have earned enough points overall to qualify for the season finals.

Ubisoft also announced the 2021 Promo Relegations which is scheduled to begin November 27 & 28. This is the last chance for the bottom two Oceanic National teams to secure their spot in next year’s season. They will go up against the top two Oceanic Challenger League teams in a double elimination Bo3 bracket. The two teams who emerge victorious will compete in the Oceanic Nationals in 2022, while the losing teams are relegated to Oceanic Challenger League.

Ubisoft is also pleased to announce its partnership with OMEN as a Gold Level Sponsor for Stage 3 of the Oceanic Nationals.

“OMEN is proud to support Oceania’s top Rainbow Six Siege esports league in the Oceanic Nationals,” said Ken Maher, Director of Personal Systems, HP Australia and New Zealand. “Supporting the growth of esports in our region is incredibly important to us at HP, and we’re looking forward to seeing great gameplay as teams battle out to qualify for the finals.”

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege’s Esports includes 4 main regions, Europe, North America, Latin America and Asia-Pacific. All four regions run in parallel their own dedicated regional leagues, all feeding into one unique and global race towards a qualification for the Six Invitational, the pinnacle of the Rainbow Six Siege competitive year. As teams across the four regions face off in regional and global competitions, featuring 3 Majors and regional leagues, they will be ranked based on an in-depth point system that rewards sustained performance. Each competitive Season runs for nearly a year, from March through the following February. Each Season will be divided into 4 quarters. The first three quarters correspond to the 3 “Stages” of the regional leagues and conclude with a Six Major bringing together 16 of the world’s best teams – four per region across the four regions. Sony Interactive Entertainment has today announced a PlayStation Showcase will be held on Friday, 10 September at 6:00 AM AEST.  In addition to this news, players can now pre-order Horizon Forbidden West ahead of its launch on Friday, 18 February 2022.

PlayStation Showcase

This showcase will provide players with a look into the future of the PS5 and will include updates from PlayStation Studios as well as some of the industry’s most imaginative developers. Stick around after the presentation concludes to get more updates from some of the studio teams featured in the Showcase. 

Note: this showcase will not include updates on the next generation of PlayStation VR, but there will still be plenty of great PS5 games from developers large and small.

Be sure to tune in on Friday, 10 September at 6:00am AEST to watch the episode live on YouTube and Twitch. The full show will likely run for around 40 minutes.

Horizon Forbidden West Pre-order

Pre-orders for Horizon Forbidden West are now live ahead of the title’s launch on Friday, 18 February 2022. Let’s take a closer look at the four pre-order options available to players …

• Special Edition – SteelBook with a physical disc copy for either PS4 or PS5, it also features the digital soundtrack (via voucher), as well as a mini art book

For players that pre-order any physical edition from participating retailers (region specific*) or any digital edition anywhere, they will receive the Nora Legacy Outfit and Spear to use in-game. Players can redeem these items via the PlayStation Store.

Please note, if players start playing Horizon Forbidden West on PS4 then later wish to continue their progress on PS5,PS4 saved games will be transferable to PS5.
