NETMARBLE ANNOUNCES FINANCIAL EARNINGS FOR FIRST QUARTER OF 2022
LOS ANGELES – JUNE 10, 2022 – Netmarble Corp, a leading developer and publisher of mobile games,reported $524.2 million in revenue and $37.9 million in EBITDA for the first quarter of 2022. Overseas sales accounted for 84% ($439.5 million) of total global sales.
“The continued growth in overseas revenue helped to offset delays in our development schedule this quarter, combined with the strides we’re making in developing our IP into new games,” said Young sig Kwon, CEO of Netmarble. “As we look to strengthen our business and overall position in the global gaming market, our focus moving into Q2 will be the continued development of our blockchain and metaverse sectors, along with a range of exciting mobile and PC titles launching in Q2 and beyond, including Ni No Kuni: Cross Worlds, Golden Bros, Disney Mirrorverse, and Champions Ascension, among many more.”
Netmarble’s Q1 2022 financial results include:
- North America led revenues (49%) with diversification across other key territories as follows: Korea (16%), Europe (12%), Southeast Asia (10%), Japan (8%), and other regions (5%).
- Netmarble’s portfolio showed genre diversification across Casual Games (48% of revenue generated), RPGs (21%), MMORPGs (19%), and other genres (12%).
- Top performing titles for the first quarter were evenly distributed: MARVEL Contest of Champions (9%) (Kabam), Cash Frenzy (9%), Jackpot World (7%), Lotsa Slots (7%), The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross (7%), and Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds (7%). All other games contributed to 54% of the company’s earned revenue.
