Soulslike Platformer Salt and Sacrifice Coming Exclusively to PC on Epic Games Store

The Sequel to Salt and Sanctuary Also Begins the Hunt on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 in Q1 2022

SEATTLE – October 18, 2021 – Salt and Sacrifice, the next installment in the million-plus selling soulslike platformer Salt and Sanctuary series from Ska Studios and Devoured Studios, launches on PC via the Epic Games Store in Early 2022 alongside PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 versions.

In the decaying Altarstone Kingdom, twisted Mages spread corruption through the land. As chaos descends, only the Marked Inquisitors – doomed warriors condemned to fight – can hope to halt the Mages and their wicked Magic. March through the Western boundary of Altarstone, hunting and destroying Mages before turning remains into powerful weapons and armor. Cast runic arts upon each weapon, manipulating energy to channel abilities like shockwaves towards foes.

Choose from eight starting classes, like the stalwart Fighter, the pious Cleric, and the erudite Sage, and customize their appearance as well as the crime that led them to this hellish fate. Traverse the realm, clashing steel against the scavengers, guardians, and other strange creatures that stand in the Marked Inquisitor’s way. Fight alone or team up with another Inquisitor for a full online co-op adventure or summon a temporary ally in online quick play sessions.

However, summoning comes at a cost. Calling forth brothers and sisters-in-arms also places a target on the summoner, letting fiends from other tenebrous worlds wreak havoc. Fortunately, factions exist to share the burden among like-minded Inquisitors. Join the ranks of the Shroud Alliance, a violent band who revel in glorious PvP combat against fellow Marked Inquisitors or heed the Dawnlight Order’s call, serving as a trustworthy knight always willing to lend a hand.

Salt and Sacrifice entices adventurers with a brutal single-player campaign rife with features inspired by popular soulslike titles. Master satisfying and challenging combat, explore a dark world inspired by Scandinavian folklore and uncover a wealth of armor and weapons. Engage in high-stakes PvP combat to create an unforgettable experience full of excitement, trials, and triumph, or utilize a password system to limit online interactions to friends only.

Salt and Sacrifice builds upon everything players loved about Salt and Sanctuary,” said James Silva, founder, Ska Studios. “Expect even more challenges to overcome both in single-player and online play when Salt and Sacrifice arrives on PC via the Epic Game Store, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4 next year!”

Salt and Sacrifice will be available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC exclusively on the Epic Games Store for USD $19.99 Early 2022 in English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, and Portuguese.

Hometopia Steam Next Fest results: “This has potential to be bigger than even The Sims or Minecraft”

The Isn’t Company shares how their home building PC game Hometopia exceeded expectations during the Steam Next Fest

With the October Steam Next Fest now wrapped up, The Isn’t Company is publicly sharing the incredible response that their home building, design and renovation PC game Hometopia has received.  As a team of only five, they were overwhelmed with how positive the reception was to its free demo and wanted to provide a few stats to help guide other developers for what to expect from participating in a Steam festival.

Over the course of the six day festival, the Hometopia demo had:

  • Over 1,200 days worth (or 28,000 total hours) of play time
  • Tens of thousands of downloads
  • Hundreds of concurrent players building simultaneously in multiplayer Sandbox worlds
  • Average play time of an hour and a half
  • 200,000 unique individuals tuning into the livestream
  • In the Top 10 Trending on the front page throughout the entire Next Fest

Due to the exposure from being part of the Steam festival, Hometopia received extensive coverage from both streamers and YouTubers alike:

The demo focused on only one of two modes – free build sandbox (single player and multiplayer) – which allowed players to create some incredible designs.

We’re floored by how overwhelmingly positive everyone has been about the game’s demo and the amazing designs players have built in such a short amount of time.  We’re incredibly excited to launch Hometopia in the near future, as we hope to bring the game one step closer to being Your Home in the Metaverse.” Alex Ahlund, the company’s founder and game director stated.

The Isn’t Company is currently finishing up Career mode, in addition to incorporating all of the feedback and suggestions from players of the demo.  Career mode is a gameplay and progression-based mode that allow players to buy, fully renovate and sell rundown homes across five unique neighborhoods.  The full game, including Career, Sandbox, Multiplayer and Steam Workshop support, is set to launch in January 2022.

FIFA set to widen gaming and eSports portfolio

  • FIFA is bullish and optimistic about its long-term future in gaming and eSports following a comprehensive and strategic assessment of the gaming and interactive entertainment market
  • The future of gaming and eSports for football stakeholders must involve more than one party controlling and exploiting all rights

FIFA will adopt a new commercial positioning in gaming and eSports to ensure that it is best placed to make decisions that benefit all football stakeholders.

FIFA is bullish and excited about the future in gaming and eSports for football, and it is clear that this needs to be a space that is occupied by more than one party controlling all rights.

Technology and mobile companies are now actively competing to be associated with FIFA, its platforms, and global tournaments.

Consequently, FIFA is engaging with various industry players, including developers, investors and analysts, to build out a long-term view of the gaming, eSports and interactive entertainment sector.

The outcome will ensure that FIFA has a range of suitable parties with specialist capabilities to actively shape the best possible experiences and offerings for fans and consumers.

Gaming and eSports are the fastest-growing media verticals on the planet, with new and diverse types of games launching continuously. It is therefore of crucial importance for FIFA and its stakeholders to maximise all future opportunities for football and gaming fans.

FIFA also has a duty to support its 211 member associations to fully capitalise on the inherent opportunities that have been emerging over the recent years. As part of this strategy, FIFA also commits to continuing to organise skill-based eSports tournaments under the umbrella of the recently launched FIFAe competition structure and consumer brand (www.fifa.gg).

The relationship and affinity that the gaming and eSports market has developed over time with the FIFA name clearly underscore that football-based gaming and the FIFA name are intrinsically intertwined.

Finally, FIFA has also determined that the overlaps between virtual sport and FIFA’s football competitions must be more closely aligned. In this respect, FIFA is excited about using the FIFA World Cup™ (with four billion viewers) and FIFA Women’s World Cup™ (with an audience of 1.2 billion) as platforms to launch and integrate exciting new games and eSports offerings.
