DEEEER Simulator: Your Average Everyday Deer Game Brings Absurd Open World Action to Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One Starting Today

TOKYO — 23 Nov., 2021 — DEEER Simulator: Your Average Everyday Deer Game, the sandbox action game starring a disruptive criminal deer developed by Gibier Games and published by PLAYISM, breaks free from Steam Early Access and wreaks havoc today on Xbox One at 3:00 PM PST, before riding into town on a giant zebra on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 on Thursday, 25 Nov. at 12:00 AM PDT.

As a human reborn as a deer, frolic on the peaceful continent of Orchestralia, an idyllic land full of humans and animals. Bestow gifts to the humans there in the form of antlers, become a slice of bread from I Am Bread, and live in peaceful harmony. 

Or don’t do that, and wreak utter havoc painting the town red. Pick up pistols and laser rifles, and sling the deer’s elongated neck to grapple to objects and fling it across the map. Hitch a ride on cars, or get a bit more wild and take horses and fish for a spin. The world won’t be able to handle the Deerstruction. 

Havoc increases the Deersaster meter, summoning the police. The force consists of polar bears, sheep, and rabbits, but they’re heavily armed and it’s deer season. Commit too much crime and they’ll summon giant police robots composed of multiple conjoined animals to hunt down John Doe. Take advantage of the deer’s ability to sprint on its hind legs to evade the brutal law in town, and find the weaponry to defeat them!

The 1.0 version and console debut includes an expanded story asking a bold question: what is the meaning of deer life? Ponder the existential while facing off against an all-new final boss. Play a game of Cowthello, the classic board game Othello/Reversi with cows, against either a giant bovine or against a friend (also possibly a cow) online exclusively to the Nintendo Switch version. Spend a few bucks for the new DLC and outfit the buck with four new skins, four attack items including a Mini Koala, and two new weapons.

Historic Union Pacific Line Arrives on PC, PlayStation®4, PlayStation®5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S

It’s always the perfect time of year for railfanning, and the simulation experts at Dovetail Games are releasing the next route that can be enjoyed without needing to brave the winter weather. Train Sim World 2: Sherman Hill, featuring the Cheyenne – Laramie line and its majestic western scenery, operated by Union Pacific, is now available for purchase on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, the PlayStation®4, PlayStation®5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S for $29.99 / £24.99.

Stretching 58 miles, the Cheyenne – Laramie route is one of the crowning achievements of America’s Transcontinental Railroad. Built in the 1860’s, this route crosses the Continental Divide in Wyoming and has been a railfan favorite often referred to as American railroading at its best. While it was originally operated with the fabled ‘Big Boy’ of the steam era, it now is home to today’s third generation of diesel engines. Operators will control the powerful Union Pacific Electro-Motive SD70Ace with its 4,300-horsepower engine and the 3,000-horsepower EMD SD40-2 as they traverse the lines tough 1.5 percent westbound grade.

Atari’s Revived Arcade Classic Blasts its Way to Switch, PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and VCS

NEW YORK — Nov. 23, 2021 —  Asteroids: Recharged, the modern co-op revival of the definitive arcade shooter from Atari®, in collaboration with developers Adamvision Studios and SneakyBox Studios, begins planetfall on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 and 4, Xbox Series X|S and One, Atari VCS, and PC for Steam and Epic Games Store on Tuesday, Dec. 14.

Originally released in 1979, Asteroids was one of the first pioneering arcade hits, using vector graphics, a tension-building minimalist soundtrack, and risk-reward gameplay as each asteroid splits up to create an unforgettable experience. Now Asteroids gets recharged with a fresh visual look, along with optimization for widescreen and high refresh rates. 

Award-winning composer Megan McDuffee provides a soundtrack inspired by the original’s tense mood, but with a synthwave flavor. Also, players no longer have to wait for their friend’s life to end with two-player simultaneous play that works perfectly with Steam Remote Play and Share Play on PlayStation systems.

Pilot a spaceship in a segment of space fraught with both careening asteroids and enemy saucers bent on destruction. Maneuver through the debris and incoming hail of laser blasts, picking up a plethora of powerups, including the shot-deflecting Reflector, defensive Orbiting Bullets, devastating Mega Lasers, and Side Attack shots to cover the ship’s flanks. Get stuck in a jam, and hyperspace to a random spot on the level and pray it’s safe or it’s game over.

Compete for high scores in this pick-up-and-play experience, with the Recharged series’ trademark approach to reviving arcade thrill: only one life stands between high scores or game over! Test those rock-smashing and extraterrestrial-eliminating skills completing a variety of Challenges utilizing the game’s powerups and enemies in brand new ways.

The Atari VCS versions each feature exclusive content and are optimized to work with the new Atari Wireless Classic Joystick.
