COMBAT OVERHAUL MARKS THE LATEST MILESTONE IN RUNESCAPE’S ROAD TO RESTORATION

Jagex continues rejuvenating its iconic MMORPG in its 25th anniversary year, with further significant updates planned for release in the weeks ahead.

Monday, 2nd March 2026, Cambridge, UK – Jagex, The RuneScape Company, has today launched its Combat Modernisation update for RuneScape, the latest in the game’s year-long ‘Road to Restoration’. The move modernises RuneScape’s three original combat styles of melee, ranged, and magic, making them more intuitive and easier to learn through experiential gameplay as players climb through the levels, and creates a simpler, but deeper, harmony between abilities.

Check out the Future of Combat video by @Edimmuz

The release of the update follows three months of running a series of Combat Modernisation betas, enabling the RuneScape community to provide meaningful feedback ahead of its official launch. As a result, with each beta period, the development team has modified the power of tens of player abilities; corrected the timings of others; and tweaked a variety of perks, among other refinements.

RuneScape’s Road to Restoration

Announced as part of January’s RuneScape Ahead premiere video, the Road to Restoration has seen key updates already delivered to RuneScape, including UI tweaks, early game rebalancing and the removal of Treasure Hunter, with more planned throughout the game’s 25th anniversary year:

  • New Look for User Interface: Completed at the end of January, RuneScape’s UI has been refined to improve visibility, polish key menus and icons, and make it more intuitive to read and navigate.
  • Early Game Rebalancing: Released in mid-February, this update aimed to improve the first hours in the game, including skills rebalancing, including for hunting, thieving, farming, and herblore. A number of early quests, including Cook’s Assistant and Sheep Shearer, have also been tweaked to improve player experience.
  • DailyScape: A forthcoming update set for March will see the removal of much of the ‘DailyScape’ daily activities, which had been identified through community feedback as being chore-like, put pressure on players to login every day, and offered disproportionally higher rewards than the game’s core content.
  • Environment Refreshes: Focusing on the surface world of Gielinor, this work focuses on bringing a sense of unity to the in-game environment, making sure that every area feels quintessentially RuneScape.
  • Player Avatar: Player characters are getting the biggest visual overhaul in over a decade with the two-part release of the Player Avatar Update. This has been one of the most requested updates over the years and the launches in spring and autumn will see significant modernising of characters, increasing both their fidelity and detail.
  • RuneMetrics Pro for Free: RuneMetrics, an in-game tool which allows players to track and analyse their XP and wealth gains, will become free for all RuneScape Members this Spring.

Detailed information about RuneScape’s Combat Modernisation, and all other updates, can be found on the official RuneScape website.

RuneScape is available now on PC, Steam, iOS, and Android, complete with cross-platform progression and play on PC and mobile.

Restore the Wind. Become the Flight. STONEFEATHER Soars Into View with Beautiful Debut Trailer

An atmospheric flying adventure where you play as a stone-born bird, mastering the skies to restore a silent world.

Lamezia Terme, Italy – March 2, 2026. ACGames, a small independent development team from Italy, has today unveiled STONEFEATHER, an atmospheric flying adventure built around freedom, flow, and the quiet poetry of motion. Players take the role of a stone-born bird gliding across vast, silent ruins in a world where the wind has vanished, and only flight can bring it back. STONEFEATHER will launch on PC via Steam, and players can wishlist now to stay up to date with the latest development news

In a land suspended in stillness, you are drawn to the last lingering echoes of the breeze. With every dive, sweep, and soaring arc, STONEFEATHER invites players on a meditative journey to restore the wind and rekindle hope in a world shaped by loss, beauty, and forgotten motion.

A newly released teaser trailer offers a first glimpse at STONEFEATHER’s signature flow-driven flight, serene exploration, and vast environments sculpted around soaring vertical landmarks and unseen currents. Watch the reveal trailer now and witness the freedom, scale, and atmosphere that define the world of STONEFEATHER.

Fly with Flow

At the heart of STONEFEATHER lies its “Fly with Flow” philosophy. Flight is not a tool; it is the language of the world itself. Precision and control define every movement: dive to gather speed, sweep into wide arcs, and carve smooth, expressive lines through open skies. There is no rush, no combat, only mastery through motion.

In STONEFEATHER, movement is expression. The more you listen to the air, the more gracefully the world opens beneath your wings.

Restore the Breath of a Silent World

To awaken the wind, players must seek out scattered Essences of Zefir, fragments of breath trapped within ancient stone. Each release restores dormant air currents, from gentle updrafts to powerful gusts, reshaping the skies and expanding the freedom of traversal.

As the wind returns, flight becomes more dynamic, with evolving air currents, greater speed, and new ways to move through the world.

Key Features

  • Restore the Wind – Discover the Essences of Zefir to awaken lost currents, unlocking new ways to soar, dive, and traverse the world with fluid grace.
  • Explore Silent Ruins – Journey through a seamless, handcrafted open world designed around flow and flight. Navigate by instinct, sight, and sound.
  • Follow the Echo – Guided by the Elder, uncover fragments of memory, read ancient symbols, and piece together the mystery of why the wind was bound and why you were chosen.
  • Flight Trials – Fly freely across the open world, glide through aerial rings, and pursue optional challenges that deepen your control and confidence in the air.

With its meditative pacing, expressive flight, and quietly mystical world, STONEFEATHER invites players to lose themselves in the rhythm of the air and remember what it means to move freely.

Watch the new trailer now and Wishlist STONEFEATHER on Steam. Let the wind carry you.
