Cook Dinner. Defend the Kitchen. Survive the Shift. Mayhem à la Carte Announced for PC

0

Four Chefs Must Cook, Serve, and Somehow Keep Their Restaurant Running While Armed Enemies Turn the Kitchen into a Battlefield.

Milton Keynes, UK, September 9, 2026 – Dinner service is stressful enough without intruders turning your kitchen into a full-blown warzone. Today, 505 Games and INGAME STUDIOS reveal Mayhem à la Carte, a four-player co-op cooking game-meets-first-person-shooter coming to PC via Steam Early Access in 2027. Players must work together to prepare and serve increasingly complicated meals while defending their kitchen from waves of attackers determined to ruin dinner service.

At first, you and your friends are working at what seems like a normal busy kitchen. Orders arrive. Potatoes need chopping. Burgers need frying. Someone should probably check the oven.

Then all hell breaks loose.

Suddenly, one cook is finishing an order while another is fighting off attackers. Someone has lost control of a lobster, and half the kitchen is being destroyed. Fortunately, almost everything within reach can help. Throw cleavers, improvise with kitchen equipment, grab a weapon, or discover that today’s culinary disaster might actually make a surprisingly effective explosive to keep those enemies out of the way and keep orders flowing out to hungry customers.

Whatever happens, the customers are still waiting.

Key Features:

  • Cook Under Fire: Orders don’t stop just because the kitchen is under attack. Chop, fry, bake and plate meals together while enemies crash into the restaurant around you. Good teamwork means knowing who is cooking, who is serving — and who needs to put down the frying pan and pick up a shotgun.
  • Turn Food Into a Weapon: Ingredients aren’t just for dinner; stun, freeze, shrink and blow up attackers using ridiculous food-based effects. Even a failed recipe can become useful when thrown at the right enemy.
  • Embrace the Chaos: Pots boil over, ingredients roll across the floor, walls get shredded, and giant lobsters escape. Carefully organized kitchens can descend into complete disaster within seconds. Adapt, improvise, and somehow keep dinner service going.
  • Four Chefs, One Kitchen: Divide responsibilities, communicate and try to operate like a professional kitchen brigade. Proximity voice chat lets players coordinate under pressure — or determine exactly which friend is responsible for the latest catastrophe.
  • Restaurants Around the World: Travel between restaurants inspired by cuisines from around the world, with new recipes, environments, hazards and kitchen mechanics to master.

Mayhem à la Carte will launch in Early Access for PC via Steam in 2027.

THE LAST CARETAKER SETS 1.0 AND XBOX LAUNCH FOR SPRING 2027 WITH GAME PASS DAY ONE

0

Channel37 reveals the roadmap to full release: Update 6.0 arrives on PC in early October, more content remains under wraps, and development continues with updates beyond 1.0

Helsinki, Finland – September 9, 2026 – Channel37 announces that The Last Caretaker will launch in 1.0 in Spring 2027, arriving simultaneously on PC and XBOX, and available to play Day One with XBOX Game Pass. Players can wishlist the XBOX version now on the XBOX Store.

The announcement marks the next major step for the science-fiction survival-crafting game following an Early Access period that began in November 2025. Since then, The Last Caretaker has shipped seven updates, sold more than 400,000 copies, and seen players average approximately 50 hours in its drowned world.

Channel37 has also released a new XBOX launch trailer, introducing players to The Last Caretaker ahead of its arrival on XBOX with Game Pass Day One.

THE ROAD TO 1.0

Channel37 reveals a new roadmap covering the journey ahead, highlighting major themes still to come, including new systems, locations, progression, and story developments, while teasing exciting new content already in development, still to be revealed.

The next major step is Update 6.0, planned for PC in early October 2026, expanding the world and its systems as The Last Caretaker moves closer to the larger questions and events shaping the full game.

FROM EARLY ACCESS TO 1.0

The Last Caretaker entered Early Access with a clear mission: recover human seeds from a drowned Earth, restore the systems needed to grow them, and launch humanity back into orbit. Since then, the humans in orbit have formed Committees and reached back toward Earth through Project Eden. New vehicles have opened the ocean vertically, from deep-water exploration to aerial travel. HoloMemories, Cultural Memories, new locations, and quest-lines have revealed more of the world’s history.
Alongside new content, Channel37 has continued improving performance, stability, usability, and existing systems, guided by how players actually play.

AFTER 1.0

Spring 2027 marks the end of Early Access and the beginning of the next chapter for The Last Caretaker.
Channel37 will continue expanding the game beyond 1.0, with new content, systems, locations, stories, fixes, and surprises still to come. While 1.0 marks the completion of the Early Access journey and the game’s full release, the world of The Last Caretaker continues to grow.

“Early Access is giving us something more valuable than a fixed list of features to finish,” said Antti Ilvessuo, Co-Founder and Creative Director at Channel37. “It is giving us hundreds of thousands of people living inside the game and showing us what matters. Spring is 1.0, but it’s not where we put the tools down; rather, it’s the next chapter in an ever-evolving journey.”

About Channel37

Founded in Helsinki, Finland in 2021, Channel37 is an antique game studio with decades of games industry experience making bold experiences that connect players, beginning with The Last Caretaker, which was released into Early Access in November 2025. Akira Yamaoka joins the musical multiverse of Active Matter

0

The acclaimed Japanese composer contributes to the soundtrack of the new hardcore online shooter

Gaijin Entertainment and Matter Team are pleased to reveal that acclaimed Japanese composer and musician Akira Yamaoka, renowned for his work on iconic psychological horror games, has contributed original music to the hardcore online shooter Active Matter. Yamaoka is one of the key artists behind the game’s diverse soundtrack, which already includes more than 100 tracks created by dozens of musicians.

The music of Active Matter was conceived as a broad creative collaboration of bringing together independent composers, guest artists and licensed music. Rather than defining a single musical style for the fractured multiverse, the developers gave participating artists considerable freedom to experiment and contribute their own musical identities.

Yamaoka-san embraced that approach, creating several distinctly different tracks for the game. His contributions include the lyrical, acoustic “I’m Here,” the blues-infused “Porcelain Heart,” and the rock-driven “Neon Decay.” Together, they demonstrate the range of a soundtrack that can move from atmospheric electronics and acoustic music to rock and heavy metal.

“Working on Active Matter was a very exciting and inspiring experience for me. With this title, I was given the freedom to express myself through music without being confined by any particular genre. Rather than thinking about how the music should be categorized, I simply focused on creating what I genuinely wanted to express at this moment in my life as an artist.

Throughout the composing and recording process, I experimented with a combination of organic instruments, electronic textures, and unconventional sounds. I wanted the music to become an integral part of the atmosphere and identity of the world of Active Matter, while also reflecting something personal and instinctive in my own musical expression.

I’m very excited to see how this music will take shape within the world of Active Matter, and how it will be experienced and interpreted by players around the world,”
said Akira Yamaoka.

The variety of musical styles reflects the nature of Active Matter itself. The game sends operatives into a fractured multiverse where semi-familiar locations and authentic modern military technology coexist with gravity-defying anomalies, strange objects and creatures transformed by active matter. Instead of trying to give such a world a single musical identity, the audio team deliberately allowed different sounds, genres and artistic approaches to collide with one another. This method gives each composer room to experiment while making the overall musical landscape of Active Matter as unpredictable and varied as the realities players explore.

Work on the soundtrack will continue after launch. Matter Team plans to regularly expand Active Matter with new music, while selected soundtrack compilations will also be released separately on streaming platforms.
