Today, 2K and Supermassive Games released a new gameplay overview trailer for The Quarry, which will be launching soon on June 10 across PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Windows PC via Steam.

Narrated by Will Byles, director of The Quarry at Supermassive Games, the gameplay overview trailer covers a wide range of topics including the premise behind the game, types of gameplay features, accessibility options and game modes. Included as part of the overview trailer is a quick peek at the new online multiplayer mode, in which the host invites up to seven friends to watch and vote on key decisions to create a story shaped by the whole group.

The Quarry is currently available for pre-order, and doing so grants the Horror History Visual Filter Pack*. This adds three cinematic visual filters to The Quarry, replicating different eras and styles of iconic horror filmmaking including 8mm-style film grain (indie horror), a retro VHS aesthetic (’80s horror) and classic black-and-white (classic horror).

Expansive Campaign – real-world locations have been captured using photogrammetry to recreate a living, immersive environment with multiple infiltration and extraction points. Side missions, hidden collectables and kill list targets provide a whole new perspective on each mission. Take on the Nazi plot solo or work with a partner, with improved co-op mechanics allowing you to share ammo and items, give orders and heal each other.

Invasion Mode and Co-op – invade another player’s Campaign as an Axis sniper and engage in a deadly game of cat and mouse, providing a new dimension to the challenge as you stalk your prey. Invasion Mode can be toggled on/off in the game menu. The entire campaign is also playable in 2 player online co-op with players able to share items and ammo and revive each other.

Weapon customisation – find Workbenches hidden in the missions (each mission has 3 to find) to customise and upgrade virtually every aspect of your weapon – change scopes, stocks, barrels, magazines and more. Rifles, secondaries and pistols all have a huge variety of options. On top of that you can select the ammo to suit your target, from armour-piercing right down to non-lethal.

Adversarial multiplayer – customise your character and loadout and earn XP, medals and ribbons as you take on intensely competitive 16 player battles that will really test your sharpshooting skills. If co-op’s more your style, you can team up with up to 3 other players against waves of enemies in Survival mode.

Full crossplay – crossplay enables you to seamlessly play co-op, Invasion Mode and adversarial multiplayer with other players on all other formats.

Enhanced Kill Cam – more realistic and grislier than ever, the trademark X-ray kill cam returns, showing you the true destructive power of each shot. Bones deflect bullets unpredictably, ripping a new path through enemy bodies. SMGs and pistols can also trigger kill cams, including multiple shots in dramatic slow motion. The frequency with which a player sees Kill Cam can be changed in the game menu, including the ability to switch it off entirely.

Advanced gunplay – factor in rifle stock and barrel options along with gravity, wind and heart rate while you line up your sights on the target. For the first time in the series iron sights have been included for SMGs and pistols.

New traversal mechanics – Karl can now use zip lines, slide down slopes and shimmy along ledges to reach the perfect vantage point, or to sneak past sharp-eyed enemies. Enhanced climbing abilities now allow you to explore hidden areas in the game map and unlock alternative routes.

Solo developer It’s Happening and publisher Yogscast Games have today announced a partnership to bring unique restaurant management roguelite game PlateUp! to PC this Summer.

PlateUp! combines chaotic kitchen and restaurant management with strategic planning and development to serve up a delightful roguelite dish unlike any other. Up to four players build and run a restaurant from scratch, choosing dishes, buying and placing appliances – some of which can be daisy-chained together to create ambitious automatic kitchens – cooking food and serving customers. Players have free rein to design their restaurant which will expand and develop between shifts, with additional content and challenges unlocked through progression.

PlateUp!’s compelling roguelite structure ensures it’s equally fun in both single and co-op modes (locally or online) and, thanks to its randomised nature, no two runs will ever be the same. It has been a huge hit on both Twitch and YouTube, with many hundreds of thousands of hours of streams watched already – and this popularity looks set to skyrocket when it launches with deep Twitch integration, allowing live-streamers to welcome viewers into their restaurants. Additionally, those in Chat will be able to vote for in-game events, helping or hindering the players on stream – with lots more streaming integration planned.

The game has gathered a huge online community on Discord, with public playtests already proving enormously popular. The full release will build upon the promise shown so far and completely redefine cooking games, combining restaurant empire building alongside chaotic cooking and serving gameplay – delicious!

The publishing agreement will enable It’s Happening to expand on the game’s content, with Yogscast providing art, marketing and publishing support through launch and beyond.

BTS DREAM OPEN BETA SERVICE TO LAUNCH IN CANADA ON MAY 25

All-New Rhythm Game from Netmarble Features TinyTAN Characters

LOS ANGELES – May 25, 2022 – Netmarble, a leading developer and publisher of high-quality mobile games, announced open beta service for BTS Dream, an all-new rhythm game featuring TinyTAN characters based on global superstars BTS, will launch in Canada on May 25.

The first rhythm game to ever feature TinyTAN, which are the characters created based on BTS, BTS Dream gives players the opportunity to become manager of TinyTAN. As manager, players will be able to decorate a worn-out “Dream World” and make TinyTAN stars, delivering a message of dreams and happiness all over the world.

Players will be able to outfit TinyTAN characters in a wide variety of outfits, including stage and animal costumes, as well as decorate the house where TinyTAN lives, increasing their familiarity with the characters.
