Arthurian Legend Merged With Sci Fi Horror Brings Turn Based Adventure and Compelling Combat To PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.

Denver, CO – June 14th, 2022 – Independent developer Room C Games in co-production with Croteam and in partnership with indie publisher Versus Evil are excited to announce that their rogue-lite RPG game The Hand of Merlin has left Steam Early Access today on PC, and is available to play on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. The console versions launch with all eight major updates from the PC version included. 

The Hand of Merlin is a turn-based rogue-lite RPG in which Arthurian legend clashes with dark and foreboding sci-fi horror. This unusual merging of genres introduces a wholly unique sci fi element to its storytelling. Utilizing both squad-based and turn-based combat, players can employ tactical cunning to use cover, set up ambushes and coordinate attacks with ranged, melee and spellcasting combat to conquer both human and unworldly abhorrent creatures and other enemy characters they encounter on their quest.

The Hand of Merlin will take players on a journey from Albion to Jerusalem to explore richly-imagined medieval lands on the brink of apocalypse – assaulted by an otherworldly evil from a story crafted by Jonas Kyratzes (The Talos Principle, Serious Sam 4) and Verena Kyratzes (The Lands of Dream, Serious Sam 4). 

The Hand of Merlin is a game where choices are permanent depending on the decisions players make as they carve a path across the lands of Albion, Marca Hispanica and al-Andalus. Adventurers will also need to find a keen balance as they weigh the risk and reward for the paths they choose.

What players take with them on this journey will be essential since combat is inevitable, trading in nearby towns can improve arms and armor, or they can continue to roam and trade with hermit artisans in the wild. Renown is the backbone of progression in The Hand of Merlin and can be used to level up party heroes, and players can choose between a randomized set of new skills or improved attributes to balance out the combat prowess of their party.

Since entering Early Access in May 2021, The Hand of Merlin has had eight major updates on its path to version 1.0, which have added a variety of gameplay options for players, including randomized party creation, new epic questlines, meta progression, passive skills, alternate maps and varied difficulty modes. One of these latest updates includes ‘Endless Mode’, a brand new way to play the game with a new biome, complete with 20 unique new combat maps and an opportunity for players to learn Spells, and for fueling up Hard Mode+ run modifiers. Combined, these eight updates provide a comprehensive set of features designed to enhance the overall player experience for RPG fans.

New trailer showcases action-roguelike’s sci-fi infused vision of the Middle Ages

Berlin, Germany, June 14, 2022 – PRISMATIKA and Spiritus Games are today thrilled to announce that a brand new demo for upcoming action-roguelike Fabular: Once Upon a Spacetime is now available as part of Steam Next Fest. The demo offers lightyears of epic intergalactic action – giving players the ability to explore the first and second realm, and get to grips with a brand new agile spaceship: The Manticore.

To coincide with the launch of the demo, PRISMATIKA has unveiled a stunning new explanation trailer that showcases the thrilling melee gameplay and systems players will experience while exploring Fabular’s unique sci-fi infused vision of the Middle Ages. 

New ship, The Manticore is a cunning blade-hunter, offering high mobility and crit damage at the expense of a more fragile hull. Players can choose to equip duelling daggers that have the highest attack speed and critical damage in the game, or glaives that are slower but have increased melee range.  Its special ability is Holo-decoy – a short range dash move which when executed perfectly leaves behind a holographic decoy.

As part of the demo, Fabular’s combat system has also been completely overhauled to make the enemy’s combat behaviour more realistic while a host of new items, events and quality of life updates have been added to the game too. 

Fabular: Once Upon a Spacetime sees players take to the stars as the cross blades with space knights in an epic roguelike, as they battle, loot and upgrade their way across the galaxy, defeating rival ships in gripping melee combat on a quest to save a kingdom from destruction.

This vast action-roguelike sees the futuristic and the medieval collide in a procedurally generated universe, brought to life through a combination of epic pixel art and hand-drawn illustrations. It will launch in Early Access later this year.

Capcom Showcase Spotlights Resident Evil™, Exoprimal™, Dragon’s Dogma™ and More

June 14, 2022 – Capcom, the world-renowned developer and publisher of video games, provided a deep dive into its exciting line up of upcoming titles today during the Capcom Showcase. The digital broadcast kicked off with multiple exciting additions to the world of Resident Evil™, including Resident Evil™ Village Gold Edition and its Winters’ Expansion, plus surprise releases of three enhanced Resident Evil titles, and an extended sneak peek at the recently revealed Resident Evil™ 4. Resident Evil Has a Selection of Good Things on the Way, Stranger

Those yearning for dark shadows got a first glimpse of the long-awaited DLC for Resident Evil Village.  The Winters’ Expansion arrives Oct. 28, 2022 on all available platforms. The new content includes a Third-Person Mode for the campaign, The Mercenaries Additional Orders featuring new stages and playable characters Chris Redfield, Heisenberg, and Lady Dimitrescu; and a continuation of the story in Shadows of Rose. Set 16 years after the events of Resident Evil Village, this new tale follows Rose Winters, the daughter of main protagonist Ethan, as she struggles with her terrifying powers. Players must explore and survive a warped and mysterious realm inside the consciousness of the Megamycete in search of a cure. Resident Evil Village Gold Edition, a bundle of the Winters’ Expansion and the main game, will also launch on Oct. 28, 2022 for PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation®4, and Xbox One. Resident Evil™ Re:Verse, a multiplayer experience which will be free for Resident Evil Village players, will go live on the same date. Exoprimal Forecasts an Early Dinosaur Outbreak on the Horizon

To prepare players before they suit up in mechanized combat armor and join the fight, Exoprimal Director Takuro Hiraoka presented a briefing on the dynamic main game mode, Dino Survival. In this multiplayer experience, two squads of five Exofighters race to complete orders assigned by Leviathan, the sinister artificial intelligence behind the dinosaur outbreaks. Teams must complete missions before their rivals to win, stay alive, and continue searching for a way to escape Leviathan’s deadly games.

A new trailer teased a selection of objectives that make up Dino Survival. These include VTOL Defence, where squads defend downed aircraft from dinosaur onslaughts, and Omega Charge, which introduces a massive hammer that Exofighters will wield to obliterate targets. The video also unveiled two new Assault class Exosuits that are absolutely armed to the teeth. Barrage, a burning bombardier, and the rail gun-wielding sniper Vigilant join a growing armoury of futuristic suits that teams can swap between on-the-fly to coordinate and overcome any challenge. While many situations pit players against hordes of dinosaurs, there are others where they clash directly with opposing squads, and even some where rival teams must band together to take-down common foes, like the twisted Neo Tyrannosaurus.

Dragon’s Dogma™ Director Hideaki Itsuno also joined the program to thank fans as the open-world action franchise celebrates its 10^th anniversary.
