January 12^th, 2023 — One of the most iconic sci-fi action films Terminator 2: Judgment Day is coming to World of Tanks PC and World of Tanks Blitz with the launch of an exclusive, limited-time collaboration this January!

From January 12^th through to January 26^th, World of Tanks PC players can embark on an epic journey that includes tanks, time travel and lots of molten metal. Battle Pass Special: Judgment Day is the event inspired by the blockbuster movie, with a special T-832 tank, unique decals, inscriptions with iconic phrases, 2D styles camouflages inspired by the film scenes, and four vehicle commanders directly from the Terminator 2 universe. The campaign consists of 50 stages, and everyone can participate in the event automatically, as players do not need to activate the progression like with Chapters in regular Battle Passes.

The event features the unique T-832, a Premium tank with built-in special visual effects. Born from the fires of the smelter where both T-800 and T-1000 perished, this tank has considerable combat potential. This machine will strike fear to all who encounter it on the battlefield. Tankers will also have a rare opportunity to shape their playstyle in favourite vehicles with four commanders who will speak their classic lines from the movie: Sarah Connor, John Connor, T-800, and T-1000.

Operation Hasta la Vista is already underway in World of Tanks Blitz offering players unique rewards, from a Cyborg tank with a legendary T-800 camouflage, 10 Terminator 2 movie-inspired avatars, 4 rare tank camouflages and profile background. Available until January 31, the event is based on the battle pass mechanics which consists of 60 Stages. Overnight, an Xbox Wire blog announced that Xbox Insiders will notice that their Xbox Series X/S consoles will automatically update to the shutdown (energy saving) option. This one-time update to the power settings will reduce power consumption while the console is off, and will not affect performance, gameplay, or the console’s ability to receive overnight updates to system, games or apps. It is the most sustainable power option for the Xbox and uses up to 20x less power than the Sleep power option.

This update is part of Xbox’s continued efforts to help reach Microsoft’s goal of being a carbon negative, water positive, and zero waste company by 2030. Therefore, Xbox is rethinking how it designs, builds, distributes and uses its products, and considering how to create opportunities for its global community of gamers to make decisions that can reduce environmental impact while gaming.

Xbox Insiders who use shutdown (energy saving) as a power option and have their Xbox Series X/S consoles configured to support automatic updates, will also get an update that makes their console carbon aware. This means reducing the console’s carbon footprint by optimizing updates and download times to when the console can use the most renewable energy in your local energy grid. For every two Xbox consoles that switch to shutdown (energy saving), we will save the carbon equivalent of one tree planted and grown for a decade. (This is based on an average of Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles on shutdown (energy saving) for 20 hours per day for 1 year; actual energy savings varies by console and other factors using the EPA calculators).

Xbox is the first gaming console to offer carbon aware game downloads and updates. While only available to Xbox Insiders for now, all Xbox users will have the chance to update their consoles with this carbon aware update soon.

• Improved sustainability with “Active Hours” and Sleep. Another energy setting update that will start to roll out to Xbox Insiders today is the new “Active hours” setting. For those that select the “sleep” power option, you can now adjust your console’s active hours. Your Xbox will boot quickly and will be available for remote wake during your selected active hours.
• Xbox is continuing to explore options for all players to reduce their environmental footprint. Xbox One consoles will begin to see new power mode options, including shutdown (energy saving) as early as today.Xbox One consoles will be flighting multiple options in order to test and inform players. This effort is to provide Xbox One console players an opportunity to provide feedback on their experience.

Xbox encourages all players to learn more about the power setting options available to them. Players who are not part of Xbox Insiders and want to adjust their settings to get the best energy saving option prior to the automatic update, can go to Settings > General > Power options. This will help conserve power and enable carbon aware updates on your Xbox.

NBA® 2K23 Season 4: Chase Legend Status Starting January 13

Tip off the new year with a remote-control drone, more player jerseys in The W, a new 2K Beats partnership with Soulection, and so much more

Today, 2K revealed that NBA® 2K23 Season 4, featuring new content coming to MyCAREER, MyTEAM and The W*, is kicking off the new year this Friday, January 13. Season 4 also includes 10 new tracks from Soulection artists that will be featured in the soundtrack and at Club 2K.

In NBA 2K23 Season 4, Chicago Bulls’ All-Star Zach LaVine takes flight into the new year with the destination set for the NBA All-Star game, which takes place February 19. This season will deliver All-Star calibre rewards and content in The City (PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S) and on The G.O.A.T. Boat (PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC). More updates include: 

• MyCAREER additions include more swag and new content for players to unlock as they climb the rewards ladder, including a remote-control drone with warp abilities that players can earn for reaching Level 40. 
• MyTEAM celebrates the Lunar New Year with multiple two week events this Season that combine Agendas, Challenges, and Locker Codes for a Galaxy Opal player card by completing its collection. Additionally, highflying and dominant back-to-back All-Star Zach LaVine takes centre stage this Season as the Level 40 reward and also features in the new Signature Challenge along with his hand-picked team of all-time Bulls players. 
• The W* additions include all-new W-related rewards, ranging from Logo Cards and 2KBreakthrough skins to clothing bundles and more. NBA 2K23 continues to showcase the game’s biggest stars with its roll out of the 60 WNBA player jerseys coming to the City and the G.O.A.T Boat in MyCAREER. Season 4 brings Atlanta Dream star Erica Wheeler, LA Sparks’ Nneka Ogwumike, Indiana Fever duo Tiffany Mitchell and Kelsey Mitchell’s jerseys onto the court
• 2K Beats this Season brings eclectic soul, forgotten gems, and timeless sounds as Soulection takes over with 10 new songs from their roster of musicians debuting exclusively in-game, alongside more of their Soulection Supply apparel in celebration of their 12th anniversary. Additionally, a new track from Dayne Carter will also debut exclusively in game this Season. The NBA 2K Producer Series also adds beats from notable producers Bizness Boi and Big Duke allowing players to record their own verses over these new beats while playing through the game and share it on social media using #NBA2KProducerSeries.
