Manage your kingdom on a grand scale and lead your armies across two distinct worlds in single-player and multiplayer action
MUNICH – Feb. 2, 2023 – Long-running RPG and strategy game studio Chimera Entertainment has announced Songs of Silence, an original strategy title in development for PC. In a beautiful fantasy realm torn between light and dark, two worlds with multiple sub-factions wage eternal war, ignorant to the growing threat of the life-devouring Silence. Command your faction and conquer your rivals through military might, subterfuge, or arcane means with a unique blend of turn-based kingdom management, exploration, real-time battles, meticulous decision-making, and card-based gameplay.
“Songs of Silence is a true passion project for us, conceived all the way back in 2019. It took inspiration from some of our all-time favorites, such as Ogre Battle, Kohan, and Warlords. We want to focus on conquest and army management in a genuinely interesting fantasy world, with as much replayability as possible. A pure experience,” said Alexander Kehr, Creative Director at Chimera Entertainment.
Songs of Silence offers a fresh spin on card-based mechanics. Instead of collecting and building a deck, cards represent the unique actions granted by heroes and locations. Each faction and hero has their own distinct play style on the turn-based strategic map and in real-time combat. Choose your heroes and lead them through a story-driven single-player campaign or competitive multiplayer, brought to life with vivid artwork, in addition to an epic score from acclaimed Final Fantasy Tactics composer Hitoshi Sakimoto.
Game Features:
Two Worlds at War: Lead mighty armies, exploring the world on the strategic map to gain a tactical advantage. Outwit your opponents with deadly ambushes, and manage precious resources to rebuild the ravaged land and defeat your rival kingdoms.
Master Dynamic Real-Time Battles: Unleash your forces in fast-paced, real-time battles and drive them to victory by playing powerful combat cards from your heroes.
Make Strategic Decisions: Carefully construct your armies from more than 100 different units to counter whatever the enemy may throw at you. Songs of Silence offers a wide variety of viable builds, from wild monster stampedes to defensive lines of war machines.
Wield Powerful Cards of Fate: Choose from hundreds of cards offering a nearly limitless range of possibilities, like burning down entire cities or spreading the life-consuming Silence.
Progress with Each Playthrough:Songs of Silence rewards multiple playthroughs with a roguelite progression system. Unlock new factions, heroes, campaigns, maps and more with each game.
A Vibrant Fantasy Universe: Discover an original, atmospheric world captured with colorfully detailed, art nouveau-inspired visual design and compelling voice-over narration.
Single-player & Multiplayer Modes: Play on your own in the story-based single-player campaign, or face off against real opponents in fast-paced online multiplayer for up to six players.
Legendary Music: Experience an evocative score by renowned composer Hitoshi Sakimoto (Final Fantasy XII, Final Fantasy Tactics, Valkyria Chronicles).

Prospectors will take on Fortuna III’s first flying enemy soon
BERLIN — Feb. 2, 2023 —The Cycle: Frontier’s third season is heading to Steam and the Epic Games Store on March 29, 2023, with fresh content and new features. Today YAGER is sharing the first look at the game’s upcoming PvE monster, the Howler. As the first flying enemy to land on Fortuna III, this massive winged beast will make the planet that much more dangerous and hostile as Prospectors battle for survival. Check out the Howler in action by watching the new developer update video below!
The flapping wings and chilling screams of the Howler can be heard from a safe distance, but Prospectors are never truly safe from this terror of the sky. If they aren’t careful, a Prospector can attract the Howler’s attention and be forced to face off with a massive airborne challenge. Only one Howler can be active on the map at a time, but even the most vigilant Prospectors can become its unwitting prey.
If you’re unfortunate enough to face the Howler, take precautions because, at 50% health, this monster is known to use its special Howl Attack, which will affect everyone in line of sight before turning into an even more reckless and aggressive foe. If a team can defeat the winged creature, they will be rewarded with valuable items like Howler Darts, Howler Honey, and, if they are super lucky, Howler Syrinx.
Season 2 of The Cycle: Frontier is currently underway with “The Depths of Tharis Island,” including new campaign missions, gear perks, the New Fortuna Pass, and a variety of general game, balance and anti-cheat improvements.
Season 3 will arrive on March 29 featuring new changes including improvements to the matchmaking system, new campaign quests to investigate the Howler, and free loadout runs. Free loadout runs let Prospectors drop down to the surface with free basic gear provided by the faction of their choice, then let them keep everything as long as they safely evacuate.
Season 3 has much more that will be announced soon. Stay tuned!

London (February 2, 2023) During today’s Monster Hunter™ Rise: Sunbreak Digital Event, the quirky scientist Bahari shared his notes on what hunters can expect when Free Title Update 4 arrives on Feb. 7, 2023. The latest update to the monstrous expansion of the top-selling Monster Hunter™ Risebrings frosty new foes that will have monsters and hunters alike frozen in their tracks, alongside new Anomaly Research content, Event Quests, and new paid DLC.
A frigid force of nature few scientists have ever seen is making its way to the Frost Islands. Velkhana, the elusive Elder Dragon that debuted as the flagship monster of Monster Hunter™ World: Iceborne, has been spotted by the scouts of Elgado Outpost. This monster’s gracefully cold demeanor foreshadows the serene stillness of the many beings left frozen in its wake. By glaciating the ambient water in the air, Velkhana is capable of forming massive pillars of ice when engaged in combat, and can even freeze the most hot-headed hunters solid. Winter winds often bring fell tidings, and the arrival of Risen Crimson Glow Valstrax proves this adage true. Just what this Risen Elder Dragon is capable of remains a mystery, as it has been deemed too dangerous for study. Hunters dedicated to gathering more data for their relentlessly inquisitive science teams can face Velkhana starting at MR 10 and Risen Crimson Glow Valstrax starting at MR 160. Any materials gathered in these excursions will of course be invaluable for crafting new weapons and armor featuring their own unique skills.
The Qurio-curious will also have new Anomaly Research at their fingertips as well, with Afflicted Chaotic Gore Magala joining the A8★ Quests, and the Anomaly Investigation cap rising to 220. Elder Dragons will begin appearing from difficulty level 111 onward, so be prepared for a fight! Event Quests will continue to arrive every week, including two new Dual Threat quests featuring Seething Bazelgeuse and Chaotic Gore Magala, alongside an Arena Quest with Furious Rajang and Scorned Magnamalo. Every Event Quest has its own unique reward, so be sure to give them a try.
Free Title Update 4 also brings a variety of new paid DLC, including layered armor for rookie hunter Lance Gunn and the venerable Ran Page. These adorable doodles, drawn by the hand of the underappreciated talent Minoto, have been featured since the release of Monster Hunter Rise and help new hunters understand the ins and outs of Kamura Village. Speaking of Minoto, players can also purchase the “Minoto” layered armor set alongside new gestures, poses, stickers, music, and hunter voices. To celebrate the release of Free Title Update 4, players can also sign up for early access to a free Palamute layered armor that makes their furry friends take on the appearance of the Elder Dragon Velkhana! Please visit the official Monster Hunter website for more information on how to sign up using a Capcom ID.
Please stay tuned for future title updates, as new monsters and more await just around the corner with Free Title Update 5 coming in April 2023.
