Arena Breakout redefines the mobile shooter genre with its ultra-realistic visual quality and hardcore tactical gameplay.

In this first-of-its-kind extraction looter shooter, gamers will play as fortune-seeking agents on raids in the Dark Zone with the freedom to fight however they desire. Eliminate adversaries head-on, with stealth, or bypass the bullets altogether, just remember what’s most important:surviving the fight and getting out alive. In Arena Breakout, each battle is a high risk, winner-takes-all gamble. If you die on the battlefield, you lose everything you found and everything you’ve brought.  If you win, you can keep all your cache.

The next-gen realism of Arena Breakout extends beyond the battlefield where every decision you make before your mission impacts its outcome. Packing heavy will limit your mobility and reduce how much room you have to loot. Packing light will improve your speed but put you at a severe disadvantage in heavy gunfights.

Xbox Launches Minecraft Education’s Privacy-Themed Learning Experience for Safer Internet Day

For Safer Internet Day on February 7, Xbox published a Wire blog today highlighting its plans to celebrate the moment used to educate communities about the importance of safety, privacy and security when online. At Xbox, the protection of players is a top priority and teams are constantly exploring innovative and creative ways to educate parents, kids and teenagers about the necessity of safety practices.

Xbox is excited to announce that Minecraft Education is releasing Privacy Prodigy, a learning experience designed to teach teenagers about personal data and how to make informed decisions about who should have access to it and why.

At this time, Xbox is also highlighting how its online communities are looked after through the help of Two Hat’s AI and human insights-powered platform Community Sift, which filters content within text, images and video. Language and culture specialists – native speakers who understand formal and informal language in addition to cultural and regional idioms – build, curate and maintain the language data that helps Community Sift determine what language is offensive and what is simply gaming lingo or part of one’s culture. For example, a phrase, emoji or set of numbers might be innocent and on the typical side of everyday lingo in one locale but mean something strikingly different elsewhere.

A once-thriving continent teeters on the brink of collapse due to the horrifying Grey Plague, morphing humans into grotesque, carnage-hungry beasts. In a last-ditch effort to preserve mankind, desperate scientists create mighty machines known as Sentinels. Take control of these massive golems, borne of alchemy, to defend the human race from the infectious apocalypse.

Unleash sweeping hellfire to annihilate unrelenting hordes lurking in every corner of the land. Streamer captains can put fate in the hands of viewers, thanks to Crowd Control integration. The audience can call down raining meteors and orbital lasers, scramble your controller, activate cheats like Big Head Mode, and even turn individual enemy ships into specially-named minibosses.

Waves of Steel leaves Steam Early Access on Windows PCs today for $14.99 at a launch discount of 25%, or $19.99 for the game and its soundtrack. For more information on Waves of Steel, please visit the official website and follow on TwitterFacebookInstagram, and join the community Discord.

Demo available for narrative sci-fi story Lightracer Spark for Steam Next Fest

With Intergalactic Power Comes Intergalactic Responsibility

Shenzhen, China, February 6th, 2023 – Smartmelon Games is offering players a playable sneak peak at its upcoming sci-fi narrative potboiler Lightracer Spark ahead of its Spring release. This new demo is only available for one week as part of Steam Next Fest from February 6th-13th at 10am PST, so don’t delay in checking it out!

Lightracer Spark is the follow-up to Smartmelon’s acclaimed mobile hit, Lightracer Ignition, which has 5.5M players all over the world, and won for Best Mobile Game in IndiePlay China 2020. Don’t worry if you’ve not played Lightracer Ignition though, as Lightracer Spark works as a standalone story featuring an all new intergalactic adventure of advanced civilizations deciding the fate of the universe.

Part visual novel, part management sim, and part RPG, Lightracer Spark puts you in the role of an advanced being called the Amender, who has descended to various extraterrestrial worlds. Here you must make choices to guide various civilizations to prosperity… or stave off their progress, should you desire. Accumulate strength through your decisions, break through the shackles of time and space towards the center of the universe, and grasp the rise and fall of all civilizations!

Players will manipulate territory on the planet Originum, as well as building celestial projects around the world. By managing resources and influencing the landscape, you’ll greatly affect the way the planet’s inhabitants evolve and progress.

In addition to forging the evolution of a singular planet, you’ll also be able to make deals with highly advanced civilizations. Through a technology called “Worldline Switching”, you’ll be able to travel to the center of the universe and confront powerful civilizations that affect the laws of nature… or ignite new sparks in the dark depths of space.

“This new demo of Lightracer Spark introduces players to the Amender and the tough decisions you’ll face as an advanced being in charge of managing an entire planet,” said Dequan Zheng, the CEO of Smartmelon Games. “We hope this taste of the adventure piques players’ interest in continuing the epic Lightracer saga!.”
