Since Tamarak Trail offers its own unique spin on the deck-building roguelike by using dice instead of cards, it requires its own vernacular to explain its mechanics.

You can even apply “dice cores” to secure passive abilities. You’re given direct control of your dice rolls, and getting them to smack together allows you to create killer combo attacks. In true deck-builder fashion, dice faces can be customized with more abilities after each victory, adding new attacks, defenses and combinations to take forward into future battles.

Operation Dread Factor brings a Swedish Operator, a thorough map rework, and important gameplay updates.

Sydney, Australia — May 15, 2023 — Today, Ubisoft revealed the second season of Rainbow Six Siege’s Year 8, Operation Dread Factor, will launch May 30. This season introduces Fenrir, a new Swedish Operator, a rework of the Consulate map, and important gameplay updates including a new Aiming Lane for the Shooting Range, a new permanent arcade playlist, and more. 

Operation Dread Factor calls Fenrir, a new tactical Defender, into action with his F-NATT Dread Mine gadget. This shadowy gadget releases a Fear Effect gas that temporarily limits a person’s field of view. As a result, strategic placement of the device will disrupt an attack, allow players to watch entry points, and cover their flank temporarily. Fenrir is a two speed, two health Operator, and his loadout features a MP7 or a SASG-12 as a primary weapon and a BAILIFF 410 as a secondary weapon. 

The map rework for Consulate completely rebuilds the experience for players, transforming all floors and sites to make it more balanced, complex, and rewarding to play. The changes to Attacker spawns aim to reduce frustration and increase safety, so there are less vulnerable locations outdoors and Attackers can more easily make it from the spawn location to the building. The reworked Consulate map brings variety with each match, inspiring players to develop new tactics to master their approach. 

New improvements to the Shooting Range make it the ultimate testing and training grounds for players with the introduction of a new Aiming Lane. This new lane allows you to master any weapon with customised training including several target types, movement speeds, distances and more. Also included in this update is a breakable wall, letting players test the destruction damage of different weapons. Year 8 Season 2 also brings a new permanent playlist letting players hop into Arcade modes for quick and unique matches whenever they prefer; returning game modes include Headshots Only, Snipers Only, Golden Gun, and Deathmatch. The new playlist will also introduce a new game mode called Free for All. 

Balancing updates arriving this season include a new gadget, the Observation Blocker. This intel denial gadget projects a digital barrier blocking the line of sight of opponent drones and Observation Tools so they cannot spot Operators and devices on the other side. This barrier is only visible from a drone or an Observation Tool and will not be visible to Operators. This season introduces the first part of balancing for Grim and aims to improve his gadget, the Kawan Hive Launcher: letting his Hives release their swarm charge faster and increasing the chance of it catching a nearby Defender. The swarms are now bigger and stay for a longer duration, but they track a Defender for less time after they step out of the swarm.  

Operation Dread Factor adds new controller layouts with alternate inputs for shooting, crouching, and leaning to make Siege a more comfortable gaming experience for everyone. Also coming this season is Free Camera in Match Replay, allowing players to use a free camera while watching their replays and letting them view recorded footage and create content from any angle. In addition, Squad members can now let the Squad leader know when they are ready to play, letting them skip the remaining timer and begin matchmaking.

Following on from the reveal of EA SPORTS™ F1® 23 last week, dive into the details you might have missed and more about what to expect ahead of launch on June 16, 2023 for Xbox, PlayStation, and PC.

Handling and Physics Changes

F1® 23’s handling and physics have had a significant upgrade on previous years, resulting in better handling, low-speed traction, and overall vehicle driveability.

Veteran players will immediately notice a difference, as vehicle behaviour in particular is more authentic thanks to three key areas of reworking: acceleration, braking, and cornering.

Updates to physics calculations for the slip of the tyres and how this interacts with the inertia of the car have been made. Plus, the way each car’s engine delivers torque has been refined, with more progressive steps relative to gear and throttle input.

On-track surfaces such as kerbs and rumble strips will be noticeably more pronounced, thanks to improvements made to the underfloor of each car, delivering a more true-to-life experience.

Adopting feedback from real F1® teams and drivers such as Anthony Davidson, players will notice a closer balance between mechanical grip from tyres and aerodynamic grip from the cars.

All these changes result in F1® 23 offering the most authentic F1® driving experience around.

Introducing Precision Drive™

Whilst the reworked handling and physics changes will be instantly noticeable when using a force-feedback steering wheel, players on pad will also recognise some radical improvements too.

F1® 23 will debut Precision Drive™ controller technology, offering those who play on pad an entirely overhauled experience.

Right off the bat, you’ll notice a more direct feel for greater accuracy with each steering input, evident in all situations from full-lock on hairpins to smaller correctional changes through sweeping corners.

Whether your driving style is smooth and flowing or more suited to sustained aggression, you’ll start to feel a lot more confident across each circuit and during those crucial wheel-to-wheel battles.

A New Race Distance

Whilst some players want to tackle full race lengths that mirror those in the sport, others may prefer shorter options for less time-intensive play sessions.

For those players, a new 35% race distance – previously only seen in F1® Esports – strikes the perfect balance between the short and long race options, whilst still adhering to the same rules that apply to full races, such as the mandatory pitstop rule.

This new race distance offers even greater variety when it comes to replicating your favourite race weekends in F1® 23.

Return of Red Flags

Red flags have become increasingly more popular in real-world F1® races, forcing teams to tear up their existing strategies in preparation for race restarts.

Making their return to the series after nine years in F1® 23, red flags will add even more drama to proceedings, as you’ll need to rethink your plans on-the-fly as you head back to the pits.

A red flag can either be triggered by racing incidents caused by other drivers in multiplayer, by the AI in offline modes, or during periods of extreme wet weather conditions.

As with the real sport, you’ll be able to adjust your race strategy, fit new tyres, and repair some damage to your car before the race restarts. Additionally, the sensitivity of red flags can be adjusted in the menu to suit your preference.

Las Vegas and Lusail

As previously mentioned at F1® 23’s reveal, two brand-new racing locations will be making their debut at launch – the Las Vegas Street Circuit in Nevada, USA and the Losail International Circuit in Doha, Qatar.

The Las Vegas Street Circuit has been built from the ground up and was created using thousands of reference photos and substantial photogrammetry data to offer the authentic experience, even before it’s raced in the real-world.

For the Losail International Circuit, official FOM computer-aided design combined with ArcGIS World Atlas aerial imagery, height data, and photogrammetry of the circuit were all used to create the most accurate representation of this circuit.

As a reminder, Circuit Paul Ricard (France), Shanghai International Circuit (China), and the Algarve International Circuit (Portugal) – better known as Portimão – will all be included when F1® 23 launches as legacy tracks for use in various different game modes.

CAMBRIDGE, UK – 11 May 2023. Jagex and Gamepires launched the “Hell’s Kitchen” update today for SCUM, along with two new DLC updates. Hell’s Kitchen is the 16th major update since the multiplayer open-world survival game SCUM launched into Early Access in 2018.

This update introduces a revamped loot and cooking system, new weapons, and access to electricity and gas alongside a new abandoned city to explore. Also parachuting into SCUM today is the introduction of Luis Moncada as a playable character, along with new customization DLC for players creating their own avatars.

The Hell’s Kitchen update includes the long-awaited cooking rework which allows players to master their culinary skills as they make use of ingredients and specialist recipes. This accompanies an overhaul of the hunting system within the game where players will need to sharpen their senses to find their prey before the hunter becomes the hunted.

Players will also have access to new weapons, including the rocket-propelled grenade and the anti-tank AT4, perfect for taking on the new sentry mechs that have started appearing on the island. Characters will also be able to enhance their bases with the new gas and electricity systems and turn their safe havens into homes.

Those brave enough to venture deep into the woods will discover an abandoned city. Once filled with joy and laughter, this ruined metropolitan area is now left haunted, with radiation creeping in every crack and window.

Parachuting into the SCUM universe is the Luis Moncada DLC, which features actor Luis Moncada as an in-game playable character, introducing multiple options, accessories, and customizations for players to choose from. The in-game avatar is modelled after Moncada’s iconic role as Marco Salamanca in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, and is voiced by Moncada himself. 

Rounding off this major update, new customisation options for hair launch today, with the Female Hairstyles DLC.
