AUSTIN, TX (July 17, 2023) — Wargaming, the publisher and developer of the leading naval battle MMO World of Warships, is making a splash with plenty of new content for its July update. This drop sees a new fleet of Tier II-X Spanish cruisers come to Early Access, as well as some exciting updates on the game’s collaboration with iconic cartoon character Popeye the Sailor Man and charity FORCE BLUE for World Ocean Month. Plus, this update also introduces the fifth wave of Azur Lane content, a new collection dedicated to a significant battle from WWI with a Premium destroyer at the end and the new branch of European destroyers now fully available.

Spanish Cruisers in Early Access

Kicking off the update, World of Warships welcomes an entirely new branch of Spanish cruisers to the tech tree. Spanning Tier II to Tier X, this range features nine ships featuring good armor with main guns that have a long firing range and good damage per minute with the burst firing mode, as well as short range torpedoes. These ships can be acquired in several ways in Early Access, including Random Packs and collecting consecutive sets. Alongside ships, these sets also offer plenty of themed Spanish content including a commemorative flag and special permanent camouflages for players to unlock.

This range of cruisers also has plenty of consumables to exploit in battle, with Hydroacoustic Search available for ships at Tier IV and above and defensive AA Fire for ships from Tier VI. Ships from Tier VII and upward also have Repair Team, Fighter and Spotter consumables at their disposal.

Popeye the Sailor Man closes out World Ocean Month

Following the collaboration launch with world-renowned IP character Popeye the Sailor Man for World Ocean Month, World of Warships is pleased to announce that the community has raised $11,720 for ocean conservation and veteran rehabilitation charity FORCE BLUE. In addition, World of Warships donated $50,000 to the veteran support and ocean conservation charity. It was joined by key figures from the organization for a World Ocean Day livestream on 8 June.

Following the conclusion of the collaboration, Jim Ritterhoff, co-founder and director of FORCE BLUE, said, “It was really phenomenal to work alongside World of Warships for World Ocean Month! The support we saw from the team was unbelievable, and the funds raised will help with the training and deployment of many more divers for our missions.”

Azur Lane joins forces for the fifth time

This July update also sees the fifth wave of Azur Lane come to the game, bringing three new notable Commanders. Equipped with their own unique voiceovers, Colorado, Cheshire and Prinz Heinrich join the ranks of the Azur Lane Commanders. Ready to sail into combat, they can take the helm of two new ships AL Cheshire and AL Prinz Heinrich. Plus, this collaboration introduces three new permanent camouflages to deck out Roon, Saint Louis, and Neptune ships.

Artillery, Somme, and more

Closing out Update 12.6’s content drop, a new branch of European destroyers is fully researchable. These ships utilize main guns with high explosive shells to do their damage and see support in this effort with high-speed torpedoes as secondary weapons. Making these ships a go-to for combat, the highlight of this range is the combined use of Smoke Generator and Surveillance Radar consumables for ships at and above Tier VIII.

Launching 24 July, the game sees a new collection “Battle of the Somme”, come to the game, themed after one of the most significant battles from the First World War. Players can collect 60 different elements through both Containers and missions to unlock British Tier IX Premium destroyer Somme, as well as a unique camouflage and a Commander with 10 skill points.

Featuring puzzles that put the ‘crypt’ in ‘cryptic’

CAMBRIDGE, United Kingdom – July 17, 2023 – Launching today, RuneScape’s Fort Forinthry Season reaches its final update with the Dead and Buried quest. Players will team up with fan-favorite character The Raptor as they venture into the Wilderness Crypt and battle hordes of undead led by the nefarious necromancer, Zemouregal. This update also features a new Ranger’s Workroom to gain powerful upgrades to the Fletching skill.

Following the events of Fort Forinthry: Unwelcome Guests, Zemouregal disappeared behind a mysterious dragonkin door in the newly discovered Wilderness Crypt. Players will venture into a dungeon below the Wilderness to confront Zemouregal ahead of Necromancy, launching in August. This is a classic RuneScape quest with fierce combat, head-scratching puzzles, and epic confrontations, all by torchlight.

However, leaving Fort Forinthry unoccupied while adventuring would be unwise. Players will need to arm the stalwart guards of their fort with crossbows, and that requires upgrading the fort with a new Fletching building, the Ranger’s Workroom. Here players will be able to train their Fletching skill and gain powerful XP boosts while doing so. Using the Ranger’s Workroom will unlock one of the four Wisdom of Anima perks, which will allow players to create the most powerful versions of Elder God Arrows.

Finishing the Dead and Buried quest will reward players with a quest point, a couple of XP lamps, two Treasure Hunter keys, and fully unlocking the three tiers of the Fort Forinthry Ranger’s Workroom.

As Erik and Mia, players will embark on an extraordinary journey through the mysterious world of Draconia. The duo will be joined by their cute companion creatures, Purrsula and Porcus, alongside a team of recruitable monster pals in their search for boundless treasures. Players can utilize these monsters’ unique abilities to discover hidden treasures and reach otherwise inaccessible areas. Defend against monsters and rival gangs until the siblings can return to base to get their treasures appraised.
