With Gamescom 2023 on the horizon, Meridiem Games is thrilled to announce that the enigmatic point & click adventure game The Many Pieces of Mr. Coo will be playable on the Indie Arena Booth in Hall 10.2. That’s not all as fans of this beautifully hand-drawn masterpiece will be able to meet it’s creator, the artist Nacho Rodriguez. 

The Many Pieces of Mr. Coo is a surreal point & click adventure game. Mr. Coo is trapped in a strange, nonsensical world, and he needs your help to get through it. But first of all, he needs to find all his pieces and put his body back together again! I’m sure there’s some philosophical struggle behind all this nonsense, but between giant chickens, crazy robots and one-eyed ladies, it’s a little hard to tell.

Experience an amazing and colourful 2D cartoon world, telling a surreal and whimsical story, full of absurd humour, quirky characters and crazy situations, as well as challenging players with innovative puzzles. Without a doubt, this is a new take on the adventure game genre that will appeal to veteran players and newcomers alike.

Mr. Coo and this game are creations of acclaimed artist Nacho Rodríguez. 2D animator and director nominated for the Goya Awards for his short film “A lifestory”. He was also the animation director of the game O.zen at Ubisoft. Mr. Coo is his most famous character, having appeared in several hilarious short films.

Meridiem Games will also be releasing two special boxed editions for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch alongside the digital launch on PC and consoles. Kasedo Games and developer Beard Envy are excited to announce that roguelite spaceship repair simulator, Uncle Chop’s Rocket Shop, will land on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch next year.

Originally revealed for PC last year during the IGN Awesome Indies Showcase, Uncle Chop’s Rocket Shop is a hilarious repair sim with ultra-tactile mechanics and a roguelite format that challenges you to fix spaceships on an asteroid-bound service station.

Compared to TV shows such as Rick & Morty and Adventure Time for its quirky and colourful art style, a new trailer has been released for Uncle Chops’ Rocket Shop showing off its unique aesthetic, dark humour and tactile gameplay via a selection of various in-game repairable modules.

Uncle Chop’s Rocket Shop will cast you as Wilbur, a vest wearing Fox, who carves out a paltry living as a mechanic, repairing as many ships as he can to afford the ever-rising rent payments to his tyrannical boss, Uncle Chop.

With a range of tools, diagnostic devices, parts and workshop appliances, Wilbur will need to correct faults in the modules of procedurally generated spaceships, based on brand specific manuals which will be acquired along the way. From simple refuel jobs to total mechanical overhauls, you will need to frantically fumble, slice, loosen, tighten, grab and drop and try to complete as many jobs as possible within each daily time limit.

PlayStation Australia is happy to reveal one of the biggest evolutions to the Firewall franchise, sharing new details on Firewall Ultra’s player versus environment (PvE) game mode: Exfil (short for Exfiltration). 

This brand-new PvE game mode aims to challenge players in a group across every map, to offer an unprecedented level of variety and excitement to the new installment of the franchise which launches exclusively for PlayStation VR2 on August 24.

The Firewall franchise is well-known in VR for its pulse-pounding gameplay without respawns, intense firefights across an assortment of maps, and deep customization and progression. All those pillars are carried into the new PvE Exfil mode but this time with a focus on challenging AI enemies. 

In Exfil, you and up to three other players will set out on missions to secure data on three laptops—which is a big change from the single laptop format in the original PvP mode, ‘Contracts’. Each map is designed to accommodate both PvE and PvP game modes so you’re always uncovering new pathways through levels and finding great flanking spots to take out enemies. 

Firewall Ultra is the kind of game you can keep coming back to again and again on your PS VR2 and consistently find something fresh. As a live service title, that means constant updates with new content such as maps, weapons, and contractors, as well as redesigns for locations like the shooting range and safehouse lobby environment.

New Unified Seasonal Progression Path and Season Pass Options Offer Players More Value and More Rewards

Seasons are evolving in NBA® 2K24 with two updates that will add more ways to play and earn rewards every six weeks. With the introduction of a unified progression path across MyTEAM and MyCAREER, players will maximise the value of their time spent in game. In addition to the robust free rewards experience players know and love, NBA 2K24 will now also offer premium Season Pass options for those looking to earn even more rewards as they level up each season.

Seasonal Progression Track Brings More Value for Time Invested

NBA 2K24 Seasons will feature a new unified Seasonal progressions track that combines MyCAREER and MyTEAM into one linear rewards system. Throughout each season, players will earn a free reward from both modes each time they reach a new level. With the new Seasonal progression track, players will now have more choice in how they earn their rewards with a new freedom to explore all that NBA 2K24 has to offer – without jeopardising their progress.

New Season Pass Options Bring More Rewards

In addition to the free Seasons experience 2K players already know, now with the addition of cross-progression, NBA 2K24 will feature two premium Season Pass options – Pro and Hall of Fame. Players who choose to purchase the Pro or Hall of Fame pass options will earn even more rewards and benefits as they play through Levels 1-40. Each Season, players will be able to choose the best Season Pass option for their own journey as they hit the court to reach Level 40:

• Free Rewards Experience (FREE) – The free experience will continue to be open to all players, offering the same quality experience they’ve come to expect from NBA 2K Seasons with the now added benefit of unified progression. Players will have the chance to earn up to 80 Level rewards as they play to unlock all 40 Level rewards for both MyCAREER and MyTEAM modes. 
• Pro Pass (AUD/NZD pricing TBC)* – ThePro Pass will offer the ability to earn 40 additional Premium Level rewards, along with additional VC and MTP rewards that can be earned throughout the season. With Pro Pass, players will unlock a Premium Level reward for each level achieved. Players will also immediately acquire four Season Pass rewards after purchasing the pass. For $9.99, players can upgrade from a Pro Pass to a Hall of Fame Pass with a Pass Upgrade at any point in the Season.
• Hall of Fame Pass (AUD/NZD pricing TBC)* – The Hall of Fame Passwill include everything in the Pro Passand more. Playable Dude Perfect crew, new in-game events, and availability on PS+ coming this summer

Today, 2K revealed details of Clubhouse Pass Season 5, teeing off this Friday, August 18*, and headlined by Bogey Boys apparel making its PGA TOUR® 2K23 debut.

Founded in 2021 by musician Macklemore, Bogey Boys is an extension of his love of both golf and fashion. Incorporating bold colours and patterns with a blend of modern and retro flair, Bogey Boys apparel offers the perfect fit for those wishing to make their MyPLAYERs stand out. The Bogey Boys apparel collection will be available via the PGA TOUR 2K23 Season 5 Clubhouse Pass Premium and Premium Plus reward ladders, including baseball caps, hoodies, polos, socks, cardigans, vests, tracksuits, jackets, pants, and more.** Also available on the rewards ladder are a collection of assorted, vintage hickory clubs and balls for golf purists.

Clubhouse Pass Season 5 offers 10 weeks of challenges and rewards. New daily and weekly events include an eSeries Society Event running August 24-27, mirroring the real-life TOUR Championship, a Tiger Woods Legacy Society Event, and the Topgolf 2K Swing Showdown allowing players to earn real world discounts valid at U.S. Topgolf locations.***

In addition to Clubhouse Pass rewards and events, a new group of playable golfers will join the ranks of  PGA TOUR 2K23 on August 30. Garrett, Tyler and Cody of popular sports and comedy collective Dude Perfect will join the likes of Tiger Woods, Nelly Korda, Matthew Fitzpatrick, Jon Rahm, Lydia Ko, Tony Finau, Brooke Henderson and Xander Schauffele, as well as celebrity guests, including Michael Jordan, Stephen Curry and John Cena on the in-game roster.****

PGA TOUR 2K23 is the highest-rated golf simulator of the past decade on Xbox and PC, according to Metacritic*****, and is currently available on PS+ for PlayStation platforms through September 4, 2023.****** The PGA TOUR 2K23 Deluxe Edition is currently on sale for 75% off on PlayStation platforms through August 30.
