Apocalyptic Adventure “HumanitZ” Claws Its Way Onto Steam Early Access Sept. 18

WREXHAM, Wales – August 31, 2023 – HumanitZ, the zombie-infested top-down, open world survival game with RPG elements from developer Yodubzz Studios and Freedom Games, fights for its life amongst the undead on PCs via Steam Early Access on Monday, Sept. 18, 2023.

In the midst of a deadly zombie outbreak, a world void of human civilization awaits the remaining few brave enough to step up and save mankind. Explore what it means to live in this new dismal status quo and fight to restore the original apex predator back to its rightful place at the top… even if that results in some innocent collateral damage.

Persevere through the tangled wilderness and crumbling cityscapes by foot, car, or any other method possible. Delve into this dark dystopia alone or in online co-op with a group of fellow survivors determined to outlast whatever lurks around the corner. Scavenge for resources in harsh, ever-changing weather conditions, customize character stats, and craft consumables to prepare the strongest defenses against the unrelenting undead.

Engage with a variety of violent “zeeks”, from slow-moving shamblers to aggressive assailants requiring a more trained hand to take down.

Stealthily survive for as long as possible, while still finding the time to hunt, fish, and farm. For those with nerves of steel, never skip a beat, grab a gun and go down swinging in the extra-challenging Permadeath Mode.

“Ready your safe houses, because HumanitZ is coming to Steam Early Access next month,” said Benjamin Tarsa, Director of Publishing, Freedom Games, “We’re looking forward to hearing how the community thrives and survives in this unforgiving open world environment – these hordes are never-ending, so get out there and begin the fight for post-apocalyptic normalcy!”

HumanitZ will be available on PC via Steam Early Access Monday, September 18. For all the best know-how to utilize against these pesky zeeks, visit Freedom Games’ official website and search #HumanitZ on social media.

SEATTLE – 31 Aug. 2023 – Airship: Kingdoms Adrift, a sandbox ship simulation in the sky from developer Revolution Industry and publisher Freedom Games, flies into battle on PCs via Steam on Thursday, 21 September. Airship: Kingdoms Adrift drifts over to The MIX Next Seattle Onsite Showcase on Friday, 1 September.

Enter Suthseg, an archipelago which escaped the scourges of battle and presents the perfect opportunity for a fresh start in the sky. Forge an unstoppable empire and a booming economy all while navigating the dangers of war and messy politics.

Ascend to the challenge with big sales for a healthy economy and even bigger weapons for air supremacy. Create bustling factories and establish mines, foundries, and lumberyards to keep the fleet afloat and the crew from scrounging for materials. Seek out merchants and negotiate quality trades with options to deal in over 300 varied trade goods, and chart treacherous trade routes in hopes of discovering the clearest path to success.

Prepare for battles by fielding airships from 30 distinct types, from graceful sailing vessels to ironclad dreadnoughts, equipped with customizable options for weapons, armor, and equipment. Battle for the skies in more than 500 unique encounters with enemies ranging from the piratical to the soldierly in an adventure where friends can become foes at a moment’s notice.

In addition to a single player campaign loaded with ~20 hours of gunship gameplay, soar into epic sky battles in 1v1 or 3v3 PvP modes with friends or other fellow fleet captains. Want even more of a challenge? Test those shipbuilding skills by selecting from various map sizes/layouts and setting a budget limit to impose compelling design challenges while building a Battle Cruiser that can stand toe-to-toe with the best.

“The skies are humming with excitement and so are we with the upcoming launch of Airship: Kingdoms Adrift,” said Benjamin Tarsa, Director of Publishing, Freedom Games, “Strategists and warriors alike can prepare for a treacherous journey, but one we know they will enjoy when their ships arrive in September!”

Airship: Kingdoms Adrift will be available on PC via Steam Thursday, 21 September for $29.99 USD. To be better prepared as captain of the war hungry vessel when charging for enemy airships, visit Freedom Games’ official website and search #AirshipKingdomsAdrift on social media.

Bahnsen Knights, Pixel Pulp Visual Novel, Storms onto PC, Console Oct. 26

Story of Cults and Cars Joins Series with Mothmen and Vampires, Demo Out Now

VANCOUVER, Canada — Aug. 31, 2023 – Bahnsen Knights, the third visual novel in a series inspired by mid-20th century pulp fiction and ‘80s home computer graphics, revs up its story of cults and storms on Thursday, Oct. 26 for PC and Mac via Steam, PlayStation 5|4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch as revealed today at The MIX Next.

Play a demo today on Steam for PC and Mac, with developer LCB Game Studio and publisher Chorus Worldwide to debut an additional chapter to launch as part of Steam Next Fest this October.

Bahnsen Knights serves as the latest chapter in the Pixel Pulps anthology, a series of interactive fiction tales Inspired by 1950’s pulp fiction with its over-the-top tales and art inspired by 1980’s home computer graphics. While each title in the anthology tells a standalone story, each Pixel Pulp takes place in a shared universe with recurring characters like paranormal investigator Lou Hill…who’s locked in a trunk by a doomsday cult.

Undercover detective Boulder must get to the bottom of this and the fate of his old friend Cupra who went missing while investigating the Bahnsen Knights. Cult leader Toni, a former car salesman, preaches Hell is not below us but above. With his fleet of 1983 Ford Sierras, the Bahnsen Knights perform “route exorcisms” while a string of biblical storms rip across the country.

Guide Boulder through a hostile cult-filled landscape to dig into Toni’s monetary motives while balancing a “suspicion” system to avoid potentially fatal conflicts — or worse. Investigate small local hotspots like Danny’s Bar, solve thought-provoking puzzles, and play minigames like solitaire in the unnatural melancholy of an apocalyptic landscape.

The branching narrative ensures that not every trip down these storm-ridden highways is the same each time, with new decisions shedding light on previously-secret parts of the tale. Earn trust among the deceitful, build up the case against the cult, and put to rest a treacherous tale before it spreads out of control.

“LCB’s exploring new territory here in Bahnsen Knights as the horrors are rooted to humanity, not the supernatural,” said Shintaro Kanaoya, founder and CEO of Chorus Worldwide. “It’s quite a surprising tonal shift compared with Varney Lake’s vampires and Mothmen 1966’s cryptids, but somehow all the more surreal because of it.”

Bahnsen Knights releases Thursday, October 26, 2023 on PC and Mac via Steam, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch for $9.99 / €8.99 / £8.49 with support for English, Spanish, German, French, and Japanese languages. Wishlist Bahnsen Knights on Steam and PS5 today, and play the first chapter of the game on Steam today.

For more information, join LCB Game Studio’s Discord, follow LCB Game Studio and Chorus Worldwide on Twitter, check out the PC demo on the official Varney Lake Steam page, and visit Chorus Worldwide’s website.

A Christmas Carol Metroidvania Ebenezer and the Invisible World Brings Good Cheer November 3

Launching on PC and consoles; New trailer debuted today at The MIX Next online showcase

SAN FRANCISCO – August 31, 2023 Ebenezer and The Invisible World, the hand-drawn Metroidvania fantasy reimagination of Charles Dickens’ classic ghost story A Christmas Carol, kicks off the Holiday season early on PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S Thursday, November 3, as revealed today during The MIX Next online showcase. Creators Orbit Studio and Play on Worlds will bring a gift to PAX West (September 1-4): a new playable demo!

Discover a Holiday haunting for the ages starring literary legend Ebenezer Scrooge, fresh from his reckoning with the ghosts of Christmas Past, Christmas Present, and Christmas Yet to Come. Far from the greedy miser in A Christmas Carol, Ebenezer now serves as an unlikely harbinger of hope for the lost souls of Victorian London.

With his newfound ability to see the invisible ghostly world others cannot, Ebenezer visits unsettled spirits and shepherds them toward peace. However, corruption has a new name: a wealthy industrialist named Caspar Malthus. Warned of Malthus’ overreach and desire to crush the vulnerable working class under his feet, Ebenezer sets off into a dangerous realm filled with spooks and spirits alike to defend the downtrodden.

Dash through the cobblestone streets of London, encountering malicious phantoms and Malthus’ private guards along the way. Fortunately, Ebenezer has spirits up his sleeve. Summon familiar ghosts with distinct abilities, including impressive attacks, movement skills, and potent buffs. Repel the Unrepentant Ghosts lingering in the wake of the Dark Spirit’s return.

Investigate awe-inspiring locations including the magical London Observatory, the underground Necropolis, and the Old Bedlam Hospital. Traverse the invisible world, solving puzzles, collecting rare materials, and defeating ghastly bosses along the way. Master an intricate Metroidvania map filled with gorgeous, hand-drawn art with frame-by-frame coloring and animations, set to a dramatic soundtrack of reimagined Holiday favorites.

Customize builds with ghostly weapons like swords and axes, and precious heirlooms including Hannibal’s Satchel, Maria’s Charm and Sibyl’s Crystal Sphere. Craft items and unlock new abilities and upgrades to ensure survival. Take on sidequests and encounter friendly NPCs, each with their own harrowing backstories, that may lend a hand in times of distress.

“It’s been a long road to releasing Ebenezer and the Invisible World and we’re so happy to finally share the release date with fans,” said Carlos Martin, Founder of Play on Worlds. “We’re looking forward to ringing in the holiday season with our take on the beloved tale, and can’t wait to see what players think of the new features and gameplay on display at PAX West.”

Today’s news was unveiled alongside a new trailer showcasing the game’s gorgeous pixel art and the first-person combat system players will encounter as they step into the shoes of Rourke, whose entire worldview is shattered when he enters a war he has trained for his entire life:

Rourke’s life was always predetermined. As a child of The Core, he was chosen from birth to be a sniper. Just like that, training for this role became his world. But on his first mission, he realizes that the war he’s been training for his entire life isn’t what it seems, and everything changes. Rourke never anticipated being called a deserter, but there has to be a way to stop this war and end the bloodshed: https://serenityforge.com/games/long-gone-days

In Long Gone Days, embark on a journey where you will grapple with numerous real-world complexities, including an intricate web of language barriers. Every encounter becomes a pivotal moment, as the ripples of your choices extend to shape the fates of those around you. The answers lie in your hands, as you navigate a narrative that delves deep into the essence of shared humanity.

Unfortunately, peace is elusive in Long Gone Days, and Rourke’s expertise as a sniper frequently comes into play. Spot and take down targets from afar or engage up-close in strategic, turn-based combat where specific parts of an enemy’s body can be targeted. Rourke’s shots will change the world and plot of Long Gone Days

Explore diverse cities, meet grounded, realistic characters and make choices that will change lives when Long Gone Days launches on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch on Oct. 10.
