Micro Machines: Mini Challenge Mayhem Announces Release Date at the December 2023 UploadVR Showcase

WIMO Games sets the checkered flag for an early 2024 finish line

AUSTIN – December 6, 2023 – Micro Machines: Mini Challenge Mayhem, the toy car racing and track creation game from WIMO Games in collaboration with global branded entertainment leader Hasbro, roars to life on Thursday, Jan. 4, 2023 on Meta Quest 2 & 3, and SteamVR, as announced at the December 2023 UploadVR Showcase.

Create the fantastical tracks of nostalgic childhood dreams with Micro Machine toys and plastic tracks. The VR tools with Mini Challenge Mayhem supplies aspiring engineers with everything they need to create incredible tracks that defy physics. Then race cars through them, using the throttle to push the pedal to the tiny metal and using speed intelligently around corners.

Make tracks in a virtual world, or use Mixed Reality to meld them withbring them as close as possible into the real world. Send cars through floating raceways in the kitchen and do loop-de-loops around family pets. Drive through a portal in the bedroom out to the living room, all with a simple-to-use interface utilizing VR controllers.

Creation and racing combine in the Campaign mode, where objectives include racing for the fastest time, or scoring points by performing stunts. Proving worthy of those feats means unlocking new track and car parts to help perfect everything from drag-racing times to amplifying the total and wanton destruction only a (miniature) monster truck can levy.

“Hasbro’s Micro Machines fuel the imagination, and virtual reality platforms provide a perfect sandbox to take creativity to the next level,” said Dave Rosen, CEO of WIMO Games. “Whether Micro Machines: Mini Challenge Mayhem inspires gamers to create unique VR tracks or embrace mixed-reality with racing in their own homes, we want everyone to embrace the passion of childhood and unleash their imagination.”

Micro Machines: Mini Challenge Mayhem releases on Thursday, January 4 for Meta Quest 2 & 3,  PSVR2, and Steam VR. Preorder the game on the Meta Store for an exclusive car. LOS ANGELES – DEC. 6, 2023 – God of Riffs: Battle for The Metalverse, the VR heavy metal rhythm game from developer and publisher VYERSOFT, will come to PSVR2 alongside a new story mode campaign. Meta Quest and SteamVR riff lords can play the story mode Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2024, which will be available when the PSVR2 version launches in 2024.

The Lord of Silence has taken over the Metalverse. A land once fueled by screeching guitars and wailing solos is now shrouded in silence. Answer the call of The Roadie, the last guardian to escape the dark lord’s clutches, to restore a trebled world to its former glory. Embark on a journey with a new axe update, new skins, new songs, and two new levels.

Pick up a set of twin axes and cut down the hordes of ungrateful dead. Swiftly synchronize slashes to the beat across biomes reflecting the various styles of rock. Traverse through Celtic Metal Forests, visit the muggy waters surrounding the Pirate Metal Docks, and explore the subterranean Dungeon of Death Metal. Headbang to shrieking guitar riffs, thunderous drums, and the original works of bands like The Tiberian Sons and cameos from hit games like SWERY’s The Good Life

Foiling the Lord of Silence plans is no easy task. Team up with The Roadie, learn to take down the scum of the underworld and end the unholy crusade. Easy to learn but difficult to master, expertly swing the battle axes with accuracy and strength. Earn more points with each nimble strike and rise to the top of the leaderboards. After completing the campaign, use the newly unlocked axes, skins, songs and enemy variants in classic arcade mode.

“As hardcore fans of both virtual reality and rhythm-based combat, we set out to create a unique experience for metalheads of the VR community,” said Matt Conn, Company Director, Vyersoft. “With this new update we hope to bring in new audiences and give returning players a refreshing, redesigned experience to come back to.”

Watch the Announcement Trailer below

In Cryptical Path, players will try to escape the ominous depths of the Hexium, a prison forged by their own hands and designed to confine malevolent souls. During their runs, players unravel the mysteries of their creation, navigating treacherous landscapes where every shadow conceals a potential threat, and where every step forward brings them closer to the wrath of those they have condemned to an eternity of darkness.

The game is primarily focused on action but opens a new field of possibilities with its building aspect through the Hexium map, a quick and easy-to-use feature that can be accessed at any time. Players can indeed shape the dungeon to their playstyle or current predicament by adjusting upcoming rooms and their content at key stages of a run.

Our goal is to provide players with tools to mess with established rules of the genre,” said Jérémy Boisson, game director at Old Skull Games. “In Cryptical Path, players can modify the dungeon by building rooms in real-time and be really creative with it, reducing randomness while adding a strategic layer.”
