Free Hardcore Mode launches alongside first DLC, Protect & Serve, with a 50% off Daily Deal
London, UK (26/10/2026) – Ten Image Publishing has launched Huntsman – Protect & Serve, the first DLC for Huntsman, alongside a free Hardcore Mode update for all existing players. Starting as a small prototype on Itch that became a viral hit, Huntsman’s giant arachnids continue to terrify fans. Inspired by real spider movements and hunting behaviours, the story follows a security guard on their first day in a new job full of horrific experiments that have broken loose, but the nightmare is far from over.
Just ahead of Huntsman’s one year anniversary, several highly requested features are being added to the game, across two new updates. Between “Make the game more difficult” and “Make the game easier, give me a gun” a compromise has been found; Hardcore Mode and Protect & Serve DLC.
Hardcore Mode
A free update for all existing players, this doubles the number of Huntsman spawns, increases the movement speed of select Orb Weavers and adds a new limited save system, inspired by other classic survival horror games.
Protect & Serve DLC
Take the fight to the spiders in a story add-on that features a new area with a full quest line, revised spider behaviours and a gun.
Synopsis:
A lone survivor barrels into a police station carrying wild tales of monstrous experiments, giant arachnids and a research facility full of corpses. As officers investigate the mysterious lab, the true nightmare begins to unravel itself and the world realises how close it came to being second on the food chain. But the spiders are dead. The researchers are dead. Everything is safe…
