At a 98 percent user score on Steam, it’s ‘all aboard’ indeed!
LONDON (Aug. 21, 2026) – This summer brought long days of sunshine, green grass and high-speed, adrenaline-rushing, kickflipping train action for more than 300,000 extreme train conductors when Undercoders’ Denshattack! launched in July on PC, Xbox X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation 5. Today, publisher Fireshine Games revealed the title has sold more than 150,000 copies worldwide and drawn more than 300,000 total players, alongside a whopping 98 percent positive user review score on Steam and 88 aggregate score on Metacritic. Denshattack! is available now for $19.99/€17.99/£15.99 (https://store.steampowered.com/app/2524850/Denshattack/), and is playable on the gamescom showfloor Aug. 26-30 at the Catalan Arts Stand, Stand 30, Indie Arena Booth, Hall 10.2.
“The response to Denshattack! has been tremendous,” said Sarah Hoeksma, chief marketing officer at Fireshine Games. “Denshattack! delivers a fearless, bold celebration of classic video game fun that went above and beyond expectations this summer, while delivering remarkable value to players. The fan response has been an incredible addition to the Fireshine label, which continues to deliver outstanding quality games like Far Far West and Duskfade, games that harness what a modern game can and should be – without breaking the budget in terms of development or consumer pricing.
”Denshattack! challenges players to become the greatest acrobatic train driver in Japan by competing in over-the-top battles. Push the limits on what a train can do in 60+ vibrant stages across all of Japan, facing off against a colorful cast of rivals and diverse missions including racing, tricking and boss fights, all set to a soundtrack that matches the controlled chaos of a train doing a kickflip.
Set in a vibrant-yet-dystopian future where the ultra-rich have sequestered themselves into impenetrable air-purifying domes, those left in the wasteland have rebuilt the world under gang rule. You’ll face rival gangs, collect upgrades and climb the ranks to become the best in Japan. Denshattack! combines the rebellious spirit of skateboarding with the rich underground and traditional culture of Japan into a runaway thrill ride you won’t want to put down.
Denshattack!’s soundtrack is a curated audio wonderland of delights, featuring the soundscapes of Tee Lopes(Sonic Mania, TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge) and more of gaming’s most beloved and exciting artists. Ryo Nagamatsu (Splatoon series, Mario Kart Series), Richard Jacques (Jet Set Radioseries, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy) and Takenobu Mitsuyoshi (Daytona USA, Sega Rally Championship) are among the guest composers contributing some absolutely banger tracks, via the gaming specialists at record label Kid Katana.
Since launch, Denshattack! has incorporated meaningful updates to the title and has plans for larger content updates in coming months to support its growing fanbase. New challenges, unlockables and more pull fans deeper into the game, granting players the ability to hone their skills.
