Commander Edition Players Deploy From November 30
Sydney, Australia, 13 August 2026: Developer KING Art Games have announced that Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV will now launch on December 3 (December 4 AEDT), with Commander Edition players gaining early access from November 30 (local timing to be confirmed).
The team at KING Art Games is taking a little more time to further refine the experience ahead of launch, focusing on performance optimisation, bug fixing, gameplay polish, and incorporating additional feedback from recent community playtesting.
Development continues at full pace, and players can expect more Battlefield Reports, gameplay showcases, and developer deep dives over the coming months as the studio shares more of what’s to come.
“As we approached the final stages of development, we saw an opportunity to further enhance Dawn of War IV and deliver the quality of experience we’ve always envisioned. The additional time will allow us to continue optimising performance, resolving bugs, and applying further polish to ensure players have the best possible experience from day one” said Jan Theysen, Creative Director at KING Art Games.
Alongside the announcement, KING Art Games has released an updated Year One roadmap reflecting the revised launch timing. Release dates for post-launch content will be announced at a later date.
Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV launches on December 3, 2026 (December 4, 2026 AEDT), with Commander Edition players deploying from November 30 through a 3-Day Early Unlock. Both editions are available to pre-order now with a 10% discount.
The war will continue long after launch. Throughout Year One, players can look forward to free updates including the return of Crusade Mode, new maps, modes, Commanders, and the Mission Editor, alongside two major story expansions that will deepen the conflict on Kronus and introduce a new playable faction to the battlefield.
