Break genre boundaries with your creations using the Tiled Map Editor
Kitsune Tails, the platformer styled after beloved classics and steeped in Japanese mythology, reveals details on the minigames and modding support available at launch.
Developer Kitsune Games and publisher MidBoss™ brings their platformer with queer relationships to PC (Steam), Linux and Steam Deck on Thursday, August 1.
Showcasing the flexibility of Kitsune Tails’ handmade engine, play minigames strewn throughout the world map to earn powerups or play minigames for coins at the arcade in town. Play Haunted Heist, a first-person maze-crawling experience inspired by early FPS games like Wolfenstein 3D with the chase-and-escape tactics of Pac-Man. Dodge ghosts with their own personalities, deploy a Yuzu decoy inspired by a community meme, and earn coins to buy helpful powerups for the main game. Other minigames include breaking bricks as a cute fox in the Barkanoid minigame, and a take on the classic Boulder Dash in Beetle Dash.
Expand the Kitsune Tails experience with powerful, simple-to-use modding tools to create custom minigames through an easy-to-use Lua script framework. Use built-in or custom images, sounds, and music, and create custom maps and levels with the free and open source Tiled Map Editor.
Kitsune Tails launches Thursday, August 1 on Steam for PC, Linux, and Steam Deck for $19.99. For more information, visit the Kitsune Tails website, and follow Kitsune Games, MidBoss, and #KitsuneTails on social media.

About MidBoss™

The studio is also responsible for the creation and curation of Summer of Pride, an annual month-long celebration of diversity in games featuring titles with good LGBTQ+ representation and an array of queer and POC content creators.
