You will no longer have to be an astronaut to get your hands on Microsoft’s latest hardware development. Microsoft opened up pre-orders for HoloLens development kits yesterday. Priced at $3,000, the development kit will ship to qualified developers who are part of the Windows Insider program in the US and Canada on March 30th. Development kits will ship out in waves occurring every two to three months. People can get a head start on development as they wait for kits to be shipped at the official developer’s portal.
For consumers, this represents a big step in towards a full release. Hopefully, we’ll be seeing more video footage floating around as developers begin to create their HoloLens creations over the next few months.
