We’re approaching the second week of Morefun Studios & Tencent’s Quack Quack” closed beta test for Roco Kingdom — the free-to-play multiplayer open-world creature-collector — and players have been enjoying the vibrant open-world of Carosia!

Roco Kingdom is the newest entry in the massively popular Chinese franchise from Tencent, coming to Windows PC, PlayStation, XBOX, and mobile devices (iOS and Android). Building on a 16-year legacy with over 350 million registered browser-game players, the new title made a landmark debut in China last March; it welcomed over 15 million players within just 13 hours of launch and reached an average DAU of over 13 million across PC and mobile in its first month. With the closed beta, Roco Kingdom brought its expansive universe to global audiences for the very first time.
The Roco Kingdom playtest is packed with content! Players are able to enjoy a segment of the main storyline that introduces them to the vibrant open-world of Carosia. They’ll be able to party up seamlessly with friends to play the playtest’s available modes and encounter 210+ Jinies to discover and collect, including two powerful Legendary Jinies, and 16 special “Chromatic” variants.
Jinies are wonderful and magical creatures, brimming with potential. They vary in Talent, Personality, Height, Weight, Color, and Specialty. An individual Jini’s personality affects its stats and how it behaves, while a Specialty is a unique skill that varies from one Jini to another; Bloodline lineage also determines which skills they can learn. With their captured Jinies, players can try their hand in multiple unique PvE modes — Alpha Battles, Blossom Battles, and so on — and PvP with other “Roco” players. Fun and engaging social and co-op experiences are another core feature of the game. Players can hold hands, ride together on Jinies in the wild, visit each other’s homesteads, and embark on adventures together.
As a free-to-play title, Roco Kingdom will offer a fair and accessible experience for all players at launch, with no pay-to-win mechanics, no Jinies locked behind paywalls, and all story content freely unlockable.
