H.G. Wells-Style Invasion Hits War Robots in Update 12.5 “Halloween Interlopers”

MY.GAMES announces that War Robots, the hit tactical PvP shooter developed by Pixonic, is embracing a retro alien invasion in its new Update 12.5, launching on October 27, 2026. Presented by the in-universe “Evolife Broadcasting Systems,” the “Halloween Interlopers” event brings the eerie atmosphere of Herbert George Wells’ classic novel The War of the Worlds directly to the battlefield, complete with alien tripods, gravity-defying Orbital Support, and an upgrade of a beloved classic trickster robot. 

Alongside a dynamic map hazards on Ground Zero, Update 12.5 introduces a terrifying new flight-capable raider, BLAST-stacking beam weapons, and Ultimate build:

Update 12.5 Key Content:

• New Tripedal Robot (Nekton). Inspired by retro Martian invaders, this three-legged terror takes to the skies while deploying an extended Absorber shield. As it hovers, Nekton fires a heavy built-in beam that inflicts BLAST status. Enemies shooting its purple shield only extend its duration, though pilots can cancel flight early to gain a significant cooldown refund.
• Mesmer Energy Weaponry. Laser guns that stack the BLAST effect. Each additional Mesmer weapon equipped on a robot amplifies the total damage dealt by the single beam that weapons generate.
• New Tactical Drone (Object). Specially engineered to support flying and Absorber-shielded robots, reaching maximum efficiency when paired alongside Nekton.
• New Mothership (Roswell). Turns the Gravity Lift mechanic on its head. Instead of enemy targets, Roswell pulls your robot into the air for superior high-ground visibility while granting defensive protection and a damage boost.
• Ultimate Loki & Ultimate Gust. Stealthy trickster returns to dominate beacon games. Destroying an enemy automatically triggers Invisibility, keeping Loki untargetable in-between kills. It is helmed by the new pilot Darian Grief and paired with the upgraded Ultimate Gust shotguns.
• New Pilot Roster. Meet The Martian (supercharges Nekton and Mesmer lasers) and combat journalist Orson Barret (designed for Ultimate Rhino, granting toxic weapon boosts and the ability to cleanse DoT stacks).
• Ground Zero Tactical Shift. Alien interference destabilizes Ground Zero’s central security sector, creating a high-stakes zone where controlling the central point grants powerful active combat buffs.
