Top Hat Studios, Inc. and developer Kyle Thompson, creator of hit games Crypt Custodian and Islets, today announced that Well Dweller is now available on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, the Xbox Family, and PC (Steam, GOG). The game also launched on Xbox Game Pass, allowing members to experience the complete adventure across Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC.
First revealed during Nintendo’s Indie World showcase, Well Dweller invites players into a bizarre and twisted mythical kingdom filled with charming characters. Developed by Kyle Thompson, Well Dweller is an original hand-drawn dark fairy-tale adventure set within a haunting storybook world.
Players take on the role of Glimmer, a tiny bird armed with a matchstick who must burn the wicked queen to save his family before they become part of her royal gown. His journey takes him through a whimsical but morbid fairy-tale landscape, battling terrifying beasts while gaining new abilities that expand the world around them. Along the way, players discover secrets, mysteries, and the riddles that rot in the underbelly of this wretched queendom.
The dark nooks and crannies throughout the realm shelter powerful trinkets key to survival, while a cast of charming characters and allies, each trying to make their own way through the Queen’s twisted world, awaits befriending. As players explore the interconnected world, they’ll need to use various skills and new abilities to uncover more of the decaying Queendom’s mysteries and learn just how it came to be. Not every fable or fairy tale has a happy ending, and an imposing collection of beasts and royally-sized challenges awaits.
In the tiny shoes (or feathers) of Glimmer, players may just be able to reunite his sheltered siblings, snatched from the nest one night in a turn of events that led to the rise of an unlikely little hero.
