The hit real-time strategy game’s powerful third faction joins the battle with a totally new single-player campaign and new multiplayer content
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Sept. 14, 2026 – Tempest Rising, the best-selling real-time strategy game from Saber Interactive’s 3D Realms publishing label, Knights Peak, and developer Slipgate Ironworks, has revealed that the highly anticipated “The Veti’s Wrath” expansion will launch on September 29 on Steam, opening the gates for players to experience the game’s long-awaited third playable faction. “The Veti’s Wrath” DLC will introduce a completely new single-player campaign that continues the saga of Tempest Rising with players in command of a unique force dedicated to conquest, while a free update will unlock the mighty Veti for use in multiplayer for all players.
Starting September 29, Tempest Rising players will be able to purchase “The Veti’s Wrath” DLC expansion on its own or as part of the game’s new “Gold Edition.” The expansion features a totally new, 11-mission single-player campaign from the perspective of the Veti, the mysterious and powerful faction unearthed in the game’s previous campaigns. Determined to reclaim the world they once ruled from humanity, the Veti are a technologically advanced force designed around subjugating and sacrificing its fallen enemies to fuel its armies and armories.
The “Gold Edition” is the perfect way for new players to jump right into Tempest Rising and experience three full single-player story campaigns with three unique factions when the Veti arrives on September 29.
A free update will also go out on September 29 making the complete Veti faction playable in multiplayer, skirmish mode, and custom games for all Tempest Rising owners.
