SAN FRANCISCO, September 3, 2026 – Skystone Games and Streetlamp Studio today revealed a brand-new story trailer for SlashZero during Sony’s State of Play showcase, and revealed that a brand-new playable demo has launched. This limited-time experience is live starting Sep 3, 2026 3:15 PM PDT and remains accessible until Sep 23, 2026 3:00 PM PDT. Prospective Timehackers can find the download on the PlayStation Store and Steam product pages. announced that an all-new playable demo is available now on PlayStation 5 and Steam.

SlashZero is a 3D anime side-scrolling roguelike that puts players in the role of a Timehacker traveling across multiple timelines. Its fast-paced combat moves seamlessly between ground and air, allowing players to take down enemies with stylish attacks and fluid combos. Players can experiment with different combat builds, grow stronger as they face more enemies, and uncover the truth of the world. First revealed at the Future Games Show in March, SlashZero is scheduled to launch on PC and PlayStation®5 in spring 2027.

What’s in the Demo

This demo offers the most complete look yet at SlashZero’s core gameplay loop, with up to 10 hours of gameplay. Players start by choosing a Timehacker, then experiment with different combat options and builds, unlock additional Timehackers, progress through various out-of-round systems, and take on new rounds that may reveal hidden bosses. Compared with previous closed and in-person tests, this version includes substantially more playable content.  It includes:

A New Timehacker: Hamlet

A stage robot who awakened under mysterious circumstances, Hamlet now carries the responsibility of saving the world—not only on stage, but across every timeline. He fights with a longsword and shield, can reconfigure his weapons in combat, and excels at overwhelming groups of enemies with sweeping close-range attacks.

Hamlet was teased as a mysterious character in the global trailer released this June and will be playable for the first time in this demo. After completing the first loop as Nyx or Fina and interacting with a character at the camp, players can trigger Hamlet’s story in later loops by meeting the required timeline and mission conditions, unlocking him as a playable Timehacker and beginning a new journey.

Challenge Two New Secret Bosses: Erik and Ye

Although Erik and Ye have appeared in previous demos and trailers, this will be the first time players can challenge them as secret bosses. As one of the first enemies encountered in the tutorial, Erik uses his overwhelming power to sever the Timehacker’s connection to “Silver” before defeating the player with a relentless assault. This time, players can return with more skills and stronger upgrades at their disposal—and finally face him in a full rematch.

Ye previously appeared as an NPC across several maps, but now steps forward as an adversary. Who is he, and what secrets is he hiding? Players will have to uncover the answers for themselves.

HIEROS-I, Lord of the Void, Revealed

The new story trailer also marks the first appearance of HIEROS-I, Lord of the Void. No one knows HIEROS-I’s true form. Wielding the power of the Imaginary, HIEROS-I creates new laws and reaches into every timeline, all in an attempt to create an entirely new dimension.

After fighting through multiple timelines and completing the prerequisite challenges, players will come face-to-face with HIEROS-I for the first time. The ultimate target of every Timehacker, HIEROS-I appears as an immense, distant figure and issues a challenge: “Forget those false timelines… Behold the truth.”

The truth of time—and of this world—will be waiting for Timehackers when SlashZero launches in spring 2027.

The demo will also give players an early look at stages and environments from new maps. SlashZero’s roguelike systems have expanded as well. The new Authority, Infinity of Space, introduces a range of additional buffs and build options. Players can also upgrade more Chips to reshape how each character plays, unlock additional Authority Codes, and progress through more out-of-round progression systems. Together, these in-round mechanics and long-term progression systems support distinctly different combat builds, ensuring that every run offers a fresh experience.
