Snap, Track, and Explore in Outbound’s Latest Free Content Expansion

Square Glade Games & Silver Lining Interactive are thrilled to unveil the next big chapter for Outbound, bringing a rich fauna expansion and a feature-packed photography system to the cozy open-world adventure today across Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S. Nintendo Switch & Nintendo Switch 2 players can expect the update very soon to follow for their favourite platform!
The Wildlife Update brings a brand-new way to document your off-grid journey. Players can now discover an expanded fauna ecosystem featuring 34 unique animal species roaming across the game’s four distinct biomes. Not only that, but players can now grab Outbound at -20% discount on Steam – a perfect time to jump into the game and the free updates, as the cozy autumn season approaches.
What’s More in the Update
- The Photography System: Visit the new Wildlife Outpost in the first biome to download the blueprint for a craftable camera. Fine-tune your shots with professional settings, including Exposure/Brightness, Depth of Field focus points, Saturation, Contrast, and Zoom. Every snapshot is saved directly to your library.
- Wildlife Journal Tracking: Journal now displays previews of the animal, to help you find which one you haven’t documented yet! The camera automatically detects animals in view. Framing a species and taking a crisp shot logs the animal as ‘collected’ in a brand-new tab in your personal journal.
- Enhanced Optics: The static binoculars found across the world can now be used to view long-distance when you don’t have your camera to zoom in just yet.
- Upgraded Building Options: A new solid wooden foundation featuring a closed wooden floor is now unlocked and available immediately in the build menu with no blueprint required.
- Quality of Life Improvements: Based on community feedback, the fishing interaction prompt now only appears while standing still, keeping your HUD clean and uninterrupted while exploring and walking in the water.
- In-Game Collectibles: Keep an eye out for a brand-new Kickstarter backer-designed charms and adorable animal-shaped plant pots to spruce up your mobile sanctuary.
