Major free content update introduces all-new ways to explore as Core Keeper surpasses 6 million players worldwide
LONDON (Sept. 10, 2026) – Get ready to saddle up and ride on out in Riders of the Underground, a huge new update for the smash hit mining adventure Core Keeper from Pugstorm and Fireshine Games, launching as a free content update on Sept. 21 across PC and consoles. Core Keeper – Riders of the Underground Trailer:
Available to all Core Keeper players on console & PC, Riders of the Underground introduces rideable mounts for the very first time, bringing a brand-new way to explore the game’s mysterious world. Core Keeper’s friendly cattle can now be ridden as mounts while also gaining new behavioral options, including commands to stay in place, roam freely or accompany the player as an adorable pal.
Also in the Riders of the Underground update, leap across chasms and pits with the brand-new Hookshot, a useful grappling hook that lets adventurers explore further afield without the need to lay down paths or bridges.
Meanwhile, in the corners of the Forgotten Ruins, a new sub-biome emerges: the Moss sub-biome, featuring a collection of lush greenery among its stoney ruins.
Alongside these core new features, the Riders of the Underground update introduces multiple new pets each with their own unique abilities, new weapons, accessories and armor pieces, alongside a variety of quality of life improvements.

Riders of the Underground launches as a free content update on PC, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, XBOX Series X|S and XBOX One on Sept. 21.
