Get a Head Start on the Adventure and Transfer Save Data to the Full Game When It Launches on Oct. 22
SYDNEY (Sept. 4, 2026) – During Sony’s State of Play showcase, SQUARE ENIX gave fans a new look at FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE, the first HD-2D game in the FINAL FANTASY series. In the action-packed trailer, it was revealed that the iconic Sephiroth will be making an appearance in the upcoming game, with players able to find and challenge him in hopes of winning and unlocking a special reward. Additionally, SQUARE ENIX launched a free FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE demo on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam and Xbox on PC. Players can get a head start on their journey through the Kingdom of Grandshelt by playing the game’s opening through the first chapter (approximately 3-5 hours of gameplay), with save data carrying over to the full game when it launches on Oct. 22, 2026.

The first HD-2D game in the FINAL FANTASY series, FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE is a celebration of classic and modern FINAL FANTASY that evokes the beloved titles of yesteryear.
