EA SPORTS FC Presents First FC 27 Gameplay Livestream with Matchups Between Global Football Icons and Top Creators
EA SPORTS FC brought the worlds of sports and entertainment together on September 15 with the FC 27 World Premiere Event in New York City. Uniting legendary footballers, creators, actors, music artists, and athletes, the event was an all-day celebration of The World’s Game ahead of FC 27 Early Access beginning on September 18 and the game’s global launch on September 25. Attendees included Zlatan, Thierry Henry, Luís Figo, Daniel Sturridge, Lewis Capaldi, KSI, Odell Beckham Jr., the cast of Ted Lasso and many more.
The event delivered the first-ever FC 27 gameplay livestream, showcasing innovations shaped directly by community feedback. From legendary 1v1 matchups to exclusive creator moments, FC 27 proved that football has always been about more than the match. It’s about the players, the communities they build, and the culture that surrounds the game.

- Legendary Matchups: The event’s flagship livestream featured iconic face-offs that drove over 2.6M accumulated views across streaming platforms, with a combined peak of 276k. In the headline matchup, Zlatan Ibrahimović & Marlon faced off against Thierry Henry & KSI. The next matchup included Chad OchoCinco & Adebayo Akinfenwa vs. Daniel Sturridge & Lewis Capaldi, showcasing first FC 27 gameplay moments and setting the tone for the season ahead.
- The Grounds Creator Ecosystem Goes Live: Top creators got hands-on with The Grounds, FC 27’s all-new social football playground designed for squad customisation and creative expression. LALIGA Legends Meet Top Creators during MATCHDAY: The LALIGA x FC 27 Matchday event brought together football legends Javier Mascherano and Marcelo as opposing team captains, alongside Rivaldo and Luís Figo, as well as top global creators KSI, xBuyer, Luva, and more.
Teams competed across three skill challenges before taking to the pitch for the main match, which saw Mascherano, Rivaldo, Luís Figo and Marcelo face off with creators – bringing football legends and top gamers together on the same field.
