Developer preview coming later this month shows never-before-seen gameplay
Seongnam, South Korea — September 7, 2026 | Publisher Kakao Games is excited to announce upcoming PC MMORPG ArcheAge S: Strait of Freedom is scheduled to launch on Steam in Q2 2027.
ArcheAge S: Strait of Freedom builds on the original ArcheAge’s core identity and the elements that have resonated with fans, while reinterpreting them for contemporary MMORPG audiences. The person leading development and at the forefront of this vision is project director Kyung-tae Kim, who served as the lead game designer and producer on the original ArcheAge.
More information on ArcheAge S: Strait of Freedom will be revealed later this month via a developer preview video. The video will feature members of the development team speaking about their design philosophy and the choices they’ve made for the game, alongside never-before-seen gameplay.
ArcheAge S: Strait of Freedom is targeting a worldwide PC launch in Q2 2027.
