Oberhaching, Germany, August 11, 2026 –
石の上にも三年. This Japanese proverb (pronounced ‚Ishi no ue ni mo sannen‘) translates roughly as “Three Years on a Stone” and encapsulates the journey of Sengoku Dynasty, the open world survival RPG from developer Superkami and German publisher Toplitz Productions, almost perfectly.

Committed to the process and the original vision, Sengoku Dynasty experienced plenty of meaningful updates as well as its normal amount of hardship that needed to be overcome since its release on PC in Early Access three years ago on August 10, 2023. A multitude of gameplay systems were added since. Bugs were fixed and taking the invaluable community feedback on board, quality-of-life enhancements were implemented that extended not only into version 1.0 and beyond, but also into the console versions.

Among the highlights of content additions, you can find the ‘Ikigai’ update which introduced fighting mechanics into the world of Sengoku Dynasty or ‘Kanata’, enhancing the world by adding a whole new island group with its distinct flora, fauna and new enemy types.

Over three years the development team built on the Early Access version as a strong foundation, changing and evolving Sengoku Dynasty to the game you can experience today, a home to a dedicated and thriving community every day.

To celebrate and comemmorate this moment, Superkami will get you into the Anniversary spirit with the free ‘Kagura’ update to version 1.2.3.0. Not only will you be able to wield the legendary Kintsugi weapon set, but you will be able to build house shrines and place spiritual decorations like a Taiko Drum (of course with drumsticks), scrolls, a Varja bell and much more. And you can celebrate three years of Sengoku Dynasty with the new Shakuhachi flute usable in emotes.

This will be followed by the free update 1.2.4.0., a decoration pack, that will include new door models, a shield tower, various tableware, containers, a mochi station, more plants and a plethora of other placable items, among other things. The date for update 1.2.4.0 will be announced at a later date.

Sengoku Dynasty is available now on PC (via Steam, GOG and Epic Games Store) and current-gen consoles (via PlayStation Store and Xbox Store. For more information head over to the respective store pages, where you can also find the Anniversary Edition (available on PC), giving you the full Sengoku Dynasty experience with the main game, the Sakura pack, the original soundtrack and more.
