Security 51 Adds Endless Mode in Major Free Update

New difficulty settings, fingerprint scanning, story characters, and persistent upgrades expand the Area 51 security experience.

[August 27, 2026]Security 51, the security checkpoint simulator set deep beneath Area 51, has received a major free update headlined by the long-requested Endless Mode, allowing agents to keep working through an unlimited number of shifts until their sanity or hunger runs out.

The update also introduces 3 new difficulty settings. Easy removes the shift timer for a more relaxed experience, Medium retains the original balance, and Hard gives experienced agents less time and harsher penalties. Tool upgrades now persist across repeat playthroughs, giving players more room to develop their security setup over time.

A new fingerprint scanner expands the inspection process on the third floor, challenging players to verify visitor identities and detect subtle anomalies. The update also adds new story characters – the mysterious mushroom cultists – alongside strange notes that may appear on the security desk with hints about the facility, its mechanics, and the choices ahead.

Security 51 puts players behind a security desk deep inside Area 51, where every visitor must be inspected before being allowed further into the facility. Check documents and clearances, scan personnel for anomalies, manage hunger and sanity, and decide who – or what – can be trusted.

The Endless Mode Update is available now as a free update for Security 51 on Steam.
