In His Final Interview, Viktor Antonov Shares the Vision Behind Guns of Eschaton

Visual Director Viktor Antonov and Creative Director Fuad Kuliev discuss building an apocalyptic Western Soulslike inspired by a nineteenth-century Americana

Cyprus – July 31, 2026 – Developer Eschatology Entertainment and publisher 4Divinity have released a 2025 interview with Creative Director Fuad Kuliev and the late Visual Director Viktor Antonov (Half Life 2, Dishonored), offering a look at the creative vision and inspirations behind Eschatology Entertainment’s debut title, Guns of Eschaton.

Watch the interview below:

In the interview, Kuliev and Antonov discuss how the game’s unique setting was conceptualized through a mix of historical research and creative experimentation. The conversation reveals how the two creators translated philosophical concepts and real-world inspirations into practical narrative and game design decisions, offering a rare behind-the-scenes look at the creative process behind building a rich, coherent game world.

“Let’s call it, alternate history. What’s happening is, ‘Billy the Kid has a High Noon duel with Lucifer.’ That is the very defining thing that we’re trying to create” explained Fuad Kuliev.

“We draw inspiration from every detail: architecture, history, technology, weaponry, and then we add the weirdness,” shared the late Viktor Antonov.
