Frenetic FPS roguelike Cyber Rail unleashes its first demo on Steam

Grapple, slide, and swing as you hunt down enemy bandits on your flying diesel train!

West Lafayette, Indiana – August 3rd, 2026 – Torn Ace Studios has just released the first playable demo of their upcoming frenetic roguelike FPS Cyber Rail on Steam. Embark on a series of cybernetic stagecoach shootouts as a robot cowboy, blasting as many bandits as you can!

In Cyber Rail speed is survival. Master a precise movement system where you must grapple, slide, wall-run, and sprint through caravans teeming with bionic brigands. With hordes of enemies targeting you from all directions and perilous falls around every corner, a well-timed slide or grapple can mean the difference between life and death.

Assemble your unique arsenal between rounds with the in-game shop. Cyber Rail’s futuristic guns each come with their own unique abilities and secondary fire modes. A boomerang can be teleported to, an SMG deals extra damage to marked enemies, and a handcannon can split its ammo in two, dealing damage to nearby foes. Whether you’re cracking skulls with the revolver or mowing down groups with the SMG, there’s always a new way to lay waste to your robotic adversaries!

Radically tweak your cybernetic bronco with a bandolier of items offering passive perks. Equip a shield to protect while reloading, or use malware to add blight damage to nearby enemies causing damage over time. Fine tune your kit to suit your playstyle or experiment with a new arsenal, ensuring that each round will offer a unique combat experience.

Cyber Rail was developed from the ground up with speedrunning at its core. Blaze through the cavalry of killer robots to ascend the leaderboards with the best time!

“We at Torn Ace Studios love the speed and platforming of both classic boomer shooters and modern movement shooters, and wanted to merge that fast-paced 3D platforming with the variety and replayability of a roguelike,” said Noah Henson, Audio and Game Design Lead at Torn Ace Studios. “This demo gives players a taste of what’s to come and we’ll use player feedback to ensure that we can make Cyber Rail as addictively compelling as possible when it launches next year.”
